The actual point of the poison blade is to get enemies damage each other.
I'm surprised he didn't knock the controls. I couldn't count the times my guy wall kicked to his death instead of climbing onto a ledge

The poison blade is a good distraction, but I never use it much.

I think he means that he can still hear the slight Australian accent in his voice.
He's lived in Australia for some time so it would make sense that it has influenced his accent.
(It sounds a bit Australian to me.)
His voice sounds better, honestly.
