How can Skrillex be live? Doesn't he just press play? I can play my iPod and garageband live too.
“David Guetta has two iPods and a mixer and he just plays tracks – like, ‘Here’s one with Akon, check it out!’ Even Skrillex isn’t doing anything too technical. He has a laptop and a MIDI recorder, and he’s just playing his shit … People are, thank God, smartening up about who does what – but there’s still button-pushers getting paid half a million. And not to say I’m not a button-pusher. I’m just pushing a lot more buttons.” - Deadmau5, on DJs who don't put in any work during the live show. [RollingStone via PotholesInMyBlog]
Deadmau said it, must be true
either way, you go to one of those shows it's to dance, look at lasers, and get high, nobody cares about the idiot playing music
Deadmau said it, must be true.
He designed a show, he played it. He was there to pump up the crowd. Not to say he couldn't do something more active. But it's not like he had fake turn tables that he was spinning like some people have done.

So what? He gets paid to fly around the world, do what he does, and no matter how mediocre whatever it is he releases next, he is bound to make millions of bucks performing to thousands of people at festivals with amazing atmospheres
Hell, I'd go to one of those shows. You people wouldn't know fun if it hit you in the face
ITT: What Skrillex does for a living

His point is the event, I mean, I don't really like sport, but I love going to sporting events. The atmosphere from that or a musical event is why you go. You can listen to the music anytime.

I personally find Football (Soccer!) extremely boring, but God damn when I go to a cafe or pub and there's a match on, the atmosphere is electric. I enjoy it much more, I cheer along and I choose a team to support.

Honestly I cannot enjoy a concert unless I know the music. I went to a Tenacious D concert when I only knew some of their stuff and I couldn't really get into the songs that I didn't know.

I heard Skrillex records a tire screech and just changes the pitch and puts it together and hits play.

Dude, sporting event atmospheres and music event atmospheres are utterly different
You have completely missed the point. Everyone can enjoy music, not so for sport
