The Battlefront We Never Got - Investigating Star Wars Battlefront 3

I like Battlefront as it is now, but I'd love to see it get a well-written story following groups of Rebels and Stormtroopers across the galaxy. There's so many potential stories that could be told in the Star Wars universe and I wish they'd capitalize on that fact.
I can't remember if this is a rumour or confirmed, but Battlefront 2 is said to have an actual single player.
Motive Studios is confirmed to be helping DICE with the BF2, so perhaps they're doing the SP portion.
99% done with 'only a few weeks of bug testing left' sounds like an untrue claim to me. You don't cancel what is essentially a finished product at the last minute, then gut it for portables just because a few deadlines have been missed.
I really wish publishers would give ambitious projects more of a chance. You don't win big by playing the penny slots.
You say that, but several game companies in the past have done something similar.
Nintendo for example had a completely finished game in Star Fox 2 ready and willing but completely canceled at the 99% point, despite it being entirely finished, they then cannibalized the code and stuff for later use in other games, leaving the finished product to waste away until the rom was found years later and leaked, so it's entirely possible.
And from what you see of the portable iterations it makes it at the very least understandable to believe, a lot of the features you'd have expected from Battlefront 3 seemly made it there.
