poor train drivers
yeah. i feel sorry for them. he'll probably be wondering if he could've stopped in time, could've spotted him about to do it from a distance, blah blah blah must be a horrible feeling
Australia is cool because it raised Tim Minchin. Gah, school starts again tomorrow.
Yay for university. No work until next Tuesday.
Sydney, Shmydney, Melbourne is better. Just got back from not being home for 5 days. Does not feel good. Would rather be staying with all my friends again.
Damn right you would! It was an awesome few days. Epic long weekend was epic.
yeah. i feel sorry for them. he'll probably be wondering if he could've stopped in time, could've spotted him about to do it from a distance, blah blah blah must be a horrible feeling
I know a train driver who's kill 5 people from people jumping on tracks.
Is the Australian education system that good, my teachers are always going on about how we strive to have the best education system but I'm not too sure.
I know a train driver who's kill 5 people from people jumping on tracks.
don't say he killed them! not his fault! When looking at the great wikipedia machine, Australia is on par as the highest quality of education along with Finland, Denmark and New Zealand. In terms of scoring we're also pretty high, not the highest in any of them by a long shot, but comparitivly, with our small population we're doing pretty well. There's stuff that I'm doing in first year uni now that we were starting to touch on in second year high school back in Scotland. One of my chem lecturers comes from England and said the same thing: it's WAAAAY too easy and relaxed here.
you don't need to know much about physics to know how to drink beer and cook food on a barbeque

But of course I'm going to take your view over two well known studies taken by OECD

We didn't start that shit until the last two or so years of high school in Australia. And even then, it wasn't in depth. And before you ask: I was in a public school both here, and back in the UK.
I'll tell you right off the bat: that's a load of horse shit.
It's not. I could go into why, but eh. What topics are you talking about in particular? It could be your University (Monash?), the program, differences in the strength of fields between countries and so on. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] Oh, public school. Yeah, well, Australian public schools are essentially cruise control until Year 11, where you get to put your toes into subjects, and then choose to specialize in University.
