Queensland is fucking crazy, everyone is a tradie. I thought it was just my friends up there but every single person I met was a tradie of some sort.
I guess it explains the Queensland economy though, all the tradies build each other's houses and wait for a flood or cyclone or other natural disaster to destroy them. Then they get all the insurance money and use it to pay their tradie friends to build new houses in anticipation for the next natural disaster which will give them new insurance funds for building more houses after the old ones were knocked over.

I went a bit north of Coolangatta right next to the Gold Coast Airport. I had planes going overhead every 20 minutes but the rent was half anywhere else. It may be shitty but it's still better than some of the far north bits.
