I have my first interview pretty soon, they called me on friday but I was at school so I'm going to call them back tomorrow
I have to go to another interview after that, and if I pass I'm in. Gonna mull it over for a while and do some research so the interview goes according to plan

I'm fairly sure if you want to be an officer you have to complete a degree, you can do up to two
Be an officer, better pay and you get to boss people around. Plus there's more openings because everyone wants to shoot stuff but no-one wants to take responsibility.
Also for me when I was looking at Engineering, they said to go for Air Force first, Navy second and Army third in ranking for good hours. Air Force you're back by tea time, Navy you're on a ship for a few months and Army you're stationed overseas for bloody ages.
Although I guess if you want to be a shooty guy then you don't have a choice. Hope you're in good physical and mental condition.

there is still time to change my choices, the only reason I applied (and it was for gap year btw) was because there was a limited window of opportunity, so if I decide it's not for me I can put a stop to it before it's too late.
I was looking at applying to go to the defense uni straight away, but I think it's a massive life choice to make straight away

God damn, people really go fucking crazy when it comes to cigarettes. I'm of the opinion that people should be allowed to fuck themselves up if they want as long as they don't do anything to others.
That being said, I'm in favour of banning of advertisement for cigarettes because actively encouraging people to pay (people that wouldn't have done so otherwise) for a shortened life is pretty fucked.

The funny thing is that all the anti-smoking signs and advertising may actually work to remind smokers of smoking, furthering their addiction.

The usage in the last 12 months are about the same as smoking, from memory (if smoking is around 15%).

In part because a quite a few baby boomers are dying, the cannabis usage rates are going down.
I dislike smoking in general, a mate in my form used to smoke and he would come to class smelling like smoke. Not to mention when I go to the station you see rats smoking.

I don't like station rats getting drunk at stations, but that doesn't mean I'm going to ban alcohol. As long as it is not significantly harming anyone (which is why I support no-smoking in workplaces/indoors), leave the law out of it.

For me I never smoke nor take drugs including weed. But I see so many more benefits to it if they legalize it.
- Will have a major impact on illegal drug trafficking + gangs.
- Will protect more people, because the government will be in charge of it.
- Give the government shit loads of cash.
- Probably give more people education and understand of it.
- Probably protect Kids from dangerous use and other drugs.

I say more police would help. But to be honest we hardly have the amount to take correct action. Also parents.
The license thing wont stop me from smoking.

Having smoked pure tobacco, it tastes a hell of a lot different to rolled and pre packaged ciggarettes. Most of the flavouring like sugars and chocolate (i know lol) are to make it less harsh, those weird additives including the nicotine naturally found in tobacco are the reasons people get addicted.
