plenty, the time between around 1250-1850 was the real golden years of the middle east, mainly thanks to the Ottomans. While Europe was dealing with the Middle Ages, the Middle East was far more advanced in terms of government and technology.
I've learnt so much on culture, religion, mathamatics, trading, tolerance, warfare.
