Has anyone else noticed that there is a suprising amount of people on FP who are in the military? I imagined everyone as skinny white guys doing IT and computer science degrees.
that's if you believe them
People who use memes in real life and mention 4chan make me want to punch them in the face.
some cunt makes statuses on facebook "browsing /b/". me and my mate the next day complain to each other about how much of a faggot he is. why even make statuses like that in the first place.
Can't find much for under 18s but for over 18 its $15, so I'm guessing its slightly under that.
It depends on the job.
Minimum wage for under 18s for jobs like fast food/movies/etc. is about $12.50 - $18 an hour. From 18 to 21, it goes up a dollar for every year.
Casual is 25% more than the minimum wage for part-time, if I recall correctly.
Lowest I've been paid on min wage was around ~$8

Probably buy some air softs, think they're beast at shooting it then create their own fantasy land with explosions and wars.
(Don't believe them, they're wizards.)
Also got me a new style to piss off everyone except bogan haters, wearing those trackies with the white line, millers shirt, thin jumper, snakebites and a scarf.
Hipster, emo, bogan.
Gotta ruv getting akward looks.

What does everyone want to do for a career?
At the moment I am trying to decide if I'd rather be a fireman or an astrophysicist.

How is that even a choice?
What?
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
When I went to Monash Uni (astrophysics department) for work experience I met a shitload of people that made a career out of it. One of the guys I talked to told me about how we was currently in the process of a selecting a recently graduated post-doc student to help in a project. They were gonna get paid around $80,000 a year, I think he said.

Can't you be an astrophysicist and be a volunteer fire fighter?
What?

Mysteries of the universe, or putting out fires.
Well if you're only doing it for money, then become a plastic surgeon and move to America.
Possibly.
My main qualm with becoming an astrophysicist is spending an extra 10 years or so in academia. Also, I'm not sure I'd make a terrific scientist. Not the best critical thinker.
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
I'm not interested in either of those jobs because of the money involved. I only mentioned the money because you made it sound like you thought becoming an astrophysicist wasn't a career choice.
Research is pretty fucking easy. The guys at the GTP near Deakin spend 30 minutes checking emails, 10 minutes doing work, a few hours fucking around in the cafe and the rest of the day doing jack shit only to leave at 2:30. Surprised they ever actually do anything.
It's not bad being one but fucking annoying if you want to work with them. They don't do shit so you don't get to do anything.
get your degree
and become a fireman
join the cfa or mfb as a volunteer. you get this threads abs respect if you do
I wanna make burgers forever and ever.
Flippin' master.
Haha :smith: I want to be a biology teacher if I don't like research. A year 11 and 12 biology teacher.
They all seem to be really nice cool people though.
I think I might like to be a teacher if I didn't have to teach anything below 11. Problem is, that's just plain unrealistic.
Kids fucking suck before VCE.

How could anyone get this shit wrong...? It's a sample exam for the kind of things they test you for to get into the MFB.

Honestly when I saw "mechanical reasoning" I thought, "Fuck, I need to know engineering shit?" but this is obvious stuff.

More AFP or going into the private sector.
or the several government organisation i could go to.
I just do what I'm good at. I could have been good at whatever I wanted, but it just so happened that when I was about 16 playing gmod I learned how to use Wire mod which is heavily electronics based. Then I got to Uni level and got a HD using skills I learned in Garry's mod.
Coincidentally I have improved my essay and critical writing skills significantly more arguing on the internet than I did in every English class in High School.

Good job, wouldn't mind something like that myself. Would suck seeing as everyone relies on you to come up with answers and it's all your fault when it goes wrong though.
Mid-year transfer?

Yeah, mid-year. Now to study chemistry so I don't fail the exam.
And buy some new clothes so I don't look like a guy half the time at uni.

Intelligence and counter terrorism personnel usually work in small teams ( in australia, not sure about overseas) so you have a heap of support behind you to make the most accurate decisions.

Awesome. Good luck :D
Someone I know goes there (or did until she finished at the end of last year, IIRC), and she loved it. Based on her testimonial, I was seriously looking at going there, but I got into another university I wanted.
