Ugh the attitude some people have toward cops is infuriating. A couple of years ago I reconnected with a guy from primary school on Facebook. At one point he posted a status saying something like, "Fucking hate the cops." which prompted me to ask why. Basically, his friend had gotten busted for tagging and that pissed him off. >Remove from friends list.
Most if not all of them have flashy graduate programs. [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] or if you can speak a language.
So what languages can you speak because I guarantee in a few years the focus will have moved to a different part of the world and you'll have to learn a new one.
Arabic [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] this is what im looking as well http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/army/jobs/AnalystIntelligenceOperations/
Certainly an appropriate avatar. Still, just you wait until it becomes more focused in South East Asian terrorists and you have to learn Thai or Indonesian. Not that Indonesian isn't an easy as shit language but still.
they need people for every part of the world, regardless of where the focus is, the CIA still grab anyone who can speak russian or vietnamese. [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] plus i have an interest in middle eastern history. I didnt choose arabic just for the job.
Arabic is a really nice sounding language. Good choice. I chose German in high school because the other option was French. German's still pretty cool (and easy to learn; it's really similar to English).
Though there's a huge amount of Arabic guys now due to the need for them and when stuff moves on, there will be a bit of a job shortage. You might be lucky having studied from the start and not being worried about not being in the action but who knows.
Arabic is a really nice sounding language. Good choice.
languages from the middle east aren't very nice sounding imo. hebrew, arabic, persian etc - they all sound too hard.

[editline]1st June 2011[/editline] wow i went right off topic there.

America has fucked itself over with a lot of the stuff they've done in the past 10 years in regards to the Middle East.
i want to go into counter terrorism. usually most people go "LOL YOU WANT TO BE LIKE SAS SUPER BLACK OPS ASSASINATING BOURNE IDENTITY SPOOKS LOL" which is the complete opposite of what im looking at.
The Bachelor of Counter Terrorism has to be the most badass bachelor ever.

[editline]1st June 2011[/editline] http://www.asis.gov.au/Careers/Overview/Intelligence-Officer/Overview.html
I know all ASIS and there shitty choices over the past 10 years, they went on a hiring spree after 9/11 and ended up employing a whole lot of shitty young kids who though they would be john rambo. supposedly they learnt their lesson and fired a fuck load of them and their back to only choosing a few.
why is IT lame? i have the cushiest job ever with loads of perks you guys have no idea
it at uni is
Nothing wrong with IT itself, I was considering doing it at one point. The problem is the people who are in IT are bad. Not the kind of quiet nerdy ones you get in a science degree, actual loud, annoying manchildren who are an embodiment of the shitposting on 4chan. They aren't all like that, but that makes it worse because then you have to share a class for 3 years with them.
IT people are lazy
Everyone is lazy. Scientists do a few hours of research a week, Engineers stuff around on stupid shit most of the time, IT people just do whatever they want when there's a lull in work.
Anyone watching Son's of Anarchy?

It gets beyond the joke, vic uni uses net support to log attendance, so if you're not logged onto net support on the days you're meant to be there, it marks you away. We've had to write our names on a piece of paper each day like in kindergarden. All PC's are capped to 1kb/s, so finding references or using google docs for projects takes 10x longer or trying to access backups. They won't allow us to share the uni's FTP for our major group projects, one of our tutors had to get his own FTP for it. Yet, we get charged $30 if we download a GB worth of downloads.

We don't know who their manager is :v, we have to speak to them via jannelle, the games dev manager. I might speak to her to make a complaint.
