Why the hell is everyone gawking at this? It's a nice story, sure, but there's no poetry in the prose. It reads like a movie script.
i remember this thread.
Why the hell is everyone gawking at this? It's a nice story, sure, but there's no poetry in the prose. Thanks for bumping, i think I would have forgotten to read this if it weren't for the bump.
Just read this, wow... I just can't describe what i am thinking/feeling.
Because it's an amazing story of how someone got caught up in the drug trade and then found their way out. Not a lot of people get to do that and live to tell.
it's fiction
That was pretty good but the part where Scrazzle Dazzle robbed him seemed unrealistic.
Anyone got any more stories like this?
Read the Cave story.. Interesting read. Does it really stop at page 10? I reallllllly want to know what happened :/ [editline]29th December 2011[/editline] searched around a bit. Found a closure from the real author. I don't know if this has already been posted but here's another tale of a drug dealer, this one stayed clear of H though [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Dealer_Guide_Lines3.jpg[/img_thumb]
Oh wow i remember this story. Best read of my life.
fantastic read, I don't think it's true though
That was quite the read! Holy shit.
Does anyone else get this weird and uncomfortable feeling in their elbow when reading about injections?
Because it's an amazing story of how someone got caught up in the drug trade and then found their way out. Not a lot of people get to do that and live to tell.
Well not many drug dealers get out of the business and write a story about it.
Well not many drug dealers get out of the business and write a story about it.
most drug dealers aren't capable of writing like this, so that might be why there isn't many stories like this one. :v:
Yet again, several guests are reading this. Because it's an awesome read
582 guests reading, holy shit
600 now.
This reminds me of Bill Burrough's book Junkie. Minus the graphic descriptions of the shit heroin did to him.
Nice story, aw who am I kidding, best story I've ever read!
So when can we get a movie to come out. Sounds like it would be amazing.
hey if you guys like stories like this, read The Game by Neil Strauss. yeah its a book about picking up chicks kinda, but it really goes into the underground world of it all like this story does, starting with how that guy was a nobody, etc.
Itching to post a stupid "didn't read" pic... but in all seriousness a great read
Great read but sounds like some literature major's final piece. Having a hard time believing this is true.
i read the entire thing in max payne's voice. i was very pleased.
It's fake, but this would honestly make a good movie if the inconsistencies were ironed out [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] The main problem I had with it was that it WAS too over the top Good for Hollywood, but that's not how real life works
I'm curious as to what these perceived inconsistencies are. I mean, it's not like you can really validate or disprove the claims of a drug dealer unless you worked as one (At least in terms of the day to day operations). The only thing I noticed was that the detective gave out information on "Paul" and the case which I'm pretty sure they wouldn't normally do. Then again, things work differently in New York in a lot of ways, and who knows if that guy wasn't just bending the rules that time because he didn't give a damn?

I mean, it's not like you can really validate or disprove the claims of a drug dealer unless you worked as one (At least in terms of the day to day operations).
The biggest giveaway is the dialogue.
“God bless this global warming,” he says, just a hint of accent in his English. “Another fifty years or so and the New York winter will be like Costa del Sol.”
People in real life do not talk like this, holy shit
“I can give you twenty bags for two hundred.”
twenty bags for $200 puts it at $10 for a .1g bag, which is normal if you're buying them individually. H dealers usually offer a rather large bulk discount, you can usually buy a gram for somewhere in the $80 range.
“I know a guy who can get you good skag.”
"skag" isn't in common usage in the U.S., especially not nowadays. it's more common in the united kingdom.
You could tell by her weight that she hadn’t been using the stuff for very long.
Heroin doesn't necessarily make you lose weight like meth or speed, I know a guy who's been using for 6 years or so who is obese. H actually increases cravings for sugary foods.
I cleaned the froth out of his mouth
A frothing mouth isn't a symptom of an overdose as far as I know, in fact, you get a dry mouth. The author also fails to mention pinned pupils in any of his descriptions of the junkies he meets, one of the most recognizable effects of heroin if you've had any experience with it. How surprising that the aspect he omits is the one not generally known by laymen!
Not sure if this would make a good movie, but reading stories like that is just amazing. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=136858 Here's a cool one about a convict, got 2 years of Armed Robbery. Pretty gritty shit.
Didn't read the whole thread, but this story was posted on SA years ago and is fake
