Didn't read the whole thread, but this story was posted on SA years ago and is fake
How's it fake? Have any evidence? It's quite long and interesting. I'd be sad to find out it's fake because
it sounds pretty accurate.

I doubt its real. Seems more like a piece that an upcoming writer would do, Its way to much like a book to be written by the main character of the story.
OP really needs to write it as a screenplay, and pitch it as a movie or something
Holy shit that was amazing.
I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to actually be that guy. The way he thought everything through despite all the shit that's going on, he made a lot of clever moves I would never even think about doing.
The biggest giveaway is the dialogue.
People in real life do not talk like this, holy shit
He says in the sentence afterwards that he probably made that statement up, as it's far too eloquent

ha, dunno how I missed that. Still, a lot of the dialogue is similar, and my other points still stand.

It's called creative intuition, do you honestly thing he memorized every single word that was said to him in a year? No he obviously had to make some of it up, all writers make stuff up to sound good otherwise it'd sound like crap and no one would read it.
Apparently this guy wrote it,

I have strong doubts about that, he does have other stories though (click Blog)
Wow. Great Read.

Doubt he wrote it, he wouldn't still be 19 if this was from 06. On the other hand, it's all made up...
Biggest indicator that it's fake:
The other Loisaida raises his gun and shoots him twice in the back. It sounds like an air raid in the small hallway. Two bright spots of blood blossom in the thug’s shirt, and he falls forward. Then everything goes crazy.
In Real Life hearing protection exists for a reason. Exposure to 140 decibels (the loudness of gunfire) can cause pain and permanent hearing loss. That's why people at a shooting range typically are required to wear earplugs, with frequent shooters investing a lot into top-notch protection.
"Air raid sirens in a hallway" is like saying that the sound of a car exploding is similar to that of a balloon popping
Why so many dumbs?
Again, creative intuition, does it sound better when he says air raid sirens or when he says, I found it hard to hear anything>
“Stupid fucking ******,” Paul mutters.
Lmao, awesome skills with sensoring. Good story anyways.
The best read i've had in a long long time!

We don't know how far away he was from the gun, as he didn't shoot it himself.
Nevertheless, be it true or false, it still was a great read.

You know I've shot guns before and I can see myself describing them that way. It's just creative writing.
Also: as someone with experience in this matter, the story sounds fake.
>facepunchers claiming to be rational individuals
>believing fictitious stories like this
lol

it is horrible .
The story said it was a "Triple Slaying", that the three of them died. I'd like to think he changed the wording so he wouldn't be tracked, but I'm still rather skeptic about this being real.
Nice find though!
TBH if this is true, it's unlikely that it was even in NYC, he said he changed shit, i'd think that'd be something to cover his ass.
That was amazing, who wrote it?
If this was a movie, i woudl definately watch it. As long as it was narrated in such a way as you wrote it.
Great read. Makes you realize exactly how horrible heroin is, far better than any chart can.
Oh man, I readed this second time. :)
Does anyone know other similar storys like this one?
And I'd like to thank for speaking of Breaking bad in
this thread, I checked that show out and it is awesome!
tl;dr
don't understand all the hype in this thread. yeh it was an alright read. reading all the comments though makes me think no one here has ever read a mediocre best-selling crime novel or seen a mediocre action movie. the plot here is pretty cliched and pretty predictable. the ending with SWAT and the cheesy as fuck lines like "i've got a lot of muscle [heheehehehehe]" were crap. the detectives at the end were totally unrealistic. i thought it was semi-believable until it turned into a gta mission where they raid the house and SURPRISE the guy we're not supposed to trust does something silly
[editline]6th January 2012[/editline]
shit character arc too because for the whole thing he's pretty impartial, then gets a conscience when he shouts at the junkie about the nice kid doing h but at the end he just pussies out and sets up everyone to die
I'm sorry, but why were so many guests reading this?
Did thousands of people flock to Facepunch to order narcotics or something?
Beautiful Story. Seems gritty and realistic. I believe every word.

I think a large part of the appeal to the story had something to do with the fact that a lot of the people here actually thought it was real, and therefore any criticism that they would have normally had would've been immediately overridden by their "omg that's incredible I can't believe that actually happened" reaction to it. Of course once you realize it's fake then you hold it to the same critical standards as any other piece of fiction and then that coolness factor immediately dies down.
Why do people think this is true? Like, it's very compelling and a fantastic read, but seriously?
Amazing read, I love this kind of stuff just the brutal reality of it. When it comes to the movie concepts, anyone who has seen "Lord of War" I think that kind of narration would fit well with a movie based off of this.
