Have [i]you[/i] listened to hardstyle? I don't think there's a single track out there that does [b]not[/b] have a snare in it. It's just not used how snares are used in other genres of music. In hardstyle it mostly functions as another layer on top of the kick, since it's all about the kick.

Hm, I'm not really a dubstep fan anymore but I'd say it's really missing a spaciousness to it. It just feels very flat and everything is kind of choppy/cut if you know what I'm saying. Work on that first.
