There is no union of North American countries, and right now no one really cares enough to make one, it wouldn't be a terrible idea though. It's been mentioned in the past to form more open ended economic and political ties between North American countries but usually gets met with paranoid Ron Paul Alex Jones idiots crying about the NWO.
And you'd have no idea what you're talking about. Its does nothing to harm democracy no matter how much you cry about commissioners and garbage. Worst case scenario, no change, best case scenario, its another level of democracy for people to participate in.

Union of countries completely waters down democracy since it turns it from independent countries into the four countries who suggested it have bigger votes than those who join it.

As a dumb British boy I'd like to say that in a class of 32 people only 3 didn't support the EU. I belive it's the older generation that hold the most concern about more EU intergration in Britain.
