Is it bad to have a lean towards game/movie soundtracks?

Three things I recommend:
Tron: Legacy OST
Inception OST
Antisleep Vol. 1
I only have one full video game soundtrack on my computer: Jet Force Gemini

The music in this game is made of awesome.
I actually just plonked the OST's for both DA2 and AC:B on my Ipod, along with Mafia 2.
I put the main theme on once after I came from work. Half past midnight, wearing my trenchcoat, walking on the empty streets. That makes you feel like such a bad motherfucker.
Banjo Kazooie anyone? Paper Mario? This shit was so cash when I played and listened to them.
I listen almost exclusively to movie soundtracks because they make me think. They have this great depth and emotion in them and they produce it all without speaking a word. I really have tried to listen to other types of music and I genuinely dislike most genres. The songs in the genres I've explored (rock, pop, electronic, trance, country, metal, etc.) aren't bad, but they're boring to me.
Of course, I'm studying to be a film composer so I'm more than a little biased. Still, if you like listening to soundtracks, then listen to soundtracks. I'm not going to listen to rock because it's not my style, just as someone who listens primarily to rock isn't going to listen to film music. Music taste is a personal thing and everyone's taste is going to be different.
Listen to Ok Computer from start to finish
I personally like the songs you can find in some of the Nazi zombie maps in Cod 5

Its not a movie or game, but Homestuck has a great soundtrack.
Paper Mario?
Probably one of my favorite soundtracks behind Ocarina Of Time :buddy:
There's usually music similar to (and better than) the soundtracks you listen to, if you look for it. Soundtracks are an ok way to get into music, but it's not good to let them comprise the majority of the music you listen to because you're afraid to explore.
World in Conflict would like to talk to you.

And so would Uncharted(The man who did Firefly's soundtrack did this one)

The Assassin's Creed series has had some pretty darn awesome music, composed by Jesper Kyd.

Half-life 2's sound track kicks ass
I've got a mixture of tastes (however I avoid stuff like Techno, house and dupstep apart from a few artists such as Justice). I have alot of game and movie OST's on my ipod and I listen to them regularly.
However I love it when games do something diffrent. I mean one of the major points of why I like Alan Wake was the soundtrack. When you heard this

at the end of chapter one you know you were in for one hell of a game. Shame the reptive gameplay, disappointing playtime and ending made it come out average.
But yeah other soundtracks I have is Shadow of the Colossus, Assassins Creed 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Half Life 2, Brutal Legend, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
Lets not forget fucking Jet Set Radio Future.
I fucking love the OST's for LotR, Donnie Darko, and the 28/days/weeks series.

ENTIRE Metro 2033 soundtrack is great. Just wonderful. I love it. Same with STALKER.
Ace Combat has always had a badass soundtrack to it. AC4 is my favorite.
I'm not much of a movie score person, simply because I think they really need the picture along with them to give the full impact. Video game music on the other hand a little bit less dependant on the visual because they can't possibly predict exactly what the player is going to do.

Fortune from MGS2
When MGS music is mentioned this never comes up, which is a shame, it's easily one of the best pieces in the series.
I think I like vidya game music better than real music, apart from The Beatles though.
