It's a 1990 300zx 5 speed with 200k on body, 65k on motor. Don't have pics yet, but will try and show her off tomorrow!

Twin turbo?
Well Im glad were on the topic of cheap trucks, cause BAM
Got a mobile domicile today. I think I overpaid at 1200, because there's no actual 12v system in it, no heater, and the fridge was replaced by a mini fridge in a shoddy way. The inside is pretty nice though. Ill post pics after its cleaned up. I guess the upside to having no 12v wiring is that I can set it up exactly how I want it myself. Ill have to anyways, since the lights dont work. Also I need towing mirrors. Badly.
Damn when I was like 6 my dad had a red f150 with one of those camper beds on it, now I want one

Doesn't look too bad. A little overpriced, but if it's sealed up good and in good shape other than the wiring, i'd say it wasn't too high of a price.

Overpaid? Bring it to Norway and you'll easily get at least $5k for it.

I cant find ANY less than 2k that is in near the condition that that one is in. I've tried to look, and got depressed and just said to heck with it I have a suburban that's close enough... For now...
Finally got some snow in Japan!

I'm not Japanese haha, just US military stationed here..
But the Japanese car scene is pretty awesome
Its pretty embarrassing when you call the guy with the blazer to come pull your SUV out of a snowbank because some idiot thought they could clear the 2 feet of snow.
I've pulled too many people out with my not-powerful blazer.
I was in chicago one time and there was a truck sitting like, right on top of his road, with a tow chain, I Was a little curious on why he was just sitting there, and I mean he was there for hours, but what I found out was, right over the hill, the road over it was flooded, so he would sit there, watch someone go over the hill, then get stuck at the bottom, charge them money to tow em out.
so I'm really torn between a 540 and a 740
pls help me decide

Yeah, its got a bit of a grubby looking caulk job around it, but no water damage, soggy wood, or other signs of a leak anywhere. The dude said he and his wife were camping in it during the 3 inch rain last year, and no water got in. A couple places need a little insulation put in, but it holds heat pretty well so far.
Im glad everything else works on this thing, because the wiring is a nightmare. First off, its got a 4 pin connector for the lights. Second, the wires going to the plug got caught installing the camper, and tore the wires out of their shitty crimp connectors. I connected them back up to find that the right blinker blinked both sides, the left blinker didnt work at all, only one side had a taillight, and no reverse lights. After patching some more shit wiring inside, and switching some wires around, I got it mostly working, except still no reverse cause fuck 4 pin connectors, and the left reverse light turns on with the left blinker/brakes. At least people can see me now, even if I cant see them. I got some rickety metal bar bolted on to the left mirror bracket to extend it almost enough, until I figure a way to attach some mirrors hanging down from the front corners of the sleeper. I'm also gonna hit up amazon and rig up a backup camera. I can hang the screen right on the rear view mirror, since its useless now.

Yeah, but around here, they go for cheap pretty commonly. At least the older ones do.

Making new emblems out of brass for the front and back of my vette.
They're pretty much the same, except the back one is straight across and the front has a slight bend to it.

Got some floor and a corner in.
[t]http://puu.sh/mJgQt.jpg[/t]
[t]http://puu.sh/mJgRu.jpg[/t]
Only the main part of the floor cut out left.
Not the prettiest work in history, but seeing as all I have is a big flat plate, a vise and a few hammers, it's not terrible I'd say. Also seeing that I have nothing to actually look at as a reference to compare. The floor on the driver's side is almost just as bad and will probably need near the same amount of work.

Also here's a sneak peak of one of my next jobs on this car. It's the rear right wheel well seen from the inside:

Usually ones of that age, at least where I am at and am from, go for $1000 in good shape.
Half of the time, you can find one that needs a wash, maybe upholstery work, etc. for $500.
Ones that need resealing and other work, generally scrap value if not free
There was a really nice 1995 one I saw, everything was perfect, and they wanted 1000 for it.
buuuut the roof leaked. nope nope fuckity nope I wouldnt buy that for 200.
Went to change the valve cover gasket on the dsm cause it leaked like nothing else and was silicone'd together. Turns out that the P.O. made the entire gasket out of RTV.
Couldn't of spent about $8 more for an actual gasket. Fun times and aching backs.
I have a serious problem

Beautifully sad mistakes were made.
So I noticed when I floor the gas pedal on my car, that if you push it a little harder in I can feel a click. What is that for?
This is in a E90 BMW by the way, because I can gas it without feeling a click, but if I completely push it down and then push it even harder I feel that click.
Can anyone explain what that little "button" does?

Probably just maxing out the linkage.

It's feedback from the pedal that you're at the point of travel to command the transmission to downshift into the optimal gear, allowing the engine to build RPM. The 'click' itself is just a mechanical detent. Similar to an old kickdown switch but it's all handled through the TPS.
Pretty much the pedal telling you you're asking for go fast and bad MPG's.

Lol dude it's the DSM life. The PO was probably so poor from fixing everything else the money for a valve cover gasket was gone.
My room mate is back to 3 of them, kill me please.

Wouldn't "DS" mode just do this for me though?
