I'm trying to find a set of 2010+ Explorer 18" wheels. 18x8's with the same bolt pattern and offset. I think they'd look good on a Crown Victoria since they're big beefy wheels for a big beefy car.

I've always liked the older body style Xterra's but found that their seats are a tid bit uncomfortable along with most of Nissan and Infinitys line up. No one makes a truly comfortable seat anymore. :'(

Yeah, I can see how they'd be uncomfortable to people. I didn't have too much trouble on the way home, aside from my back aching a little, but I've had that problem with most every car I've sat in for almost 3ish hours without a break. One of the caveats to being fairly tall and big.
Air lockers better than electric? I was looking at Eaton's E-lockers but didn't read too much in to it considering that's all way down the road. Heard the ARB airlockers have some minor to severe(though uncommon) issues with air leaks?
so I've got a car problem question and I was hopin' one of ya'll might know what could be a problem with my transmission.
I drive a saturn outlook(first problem) and recently I've been noticing it refusing to shift, it's an automatic with a manual shift mode(I made sure it wasn't in manual mode). I've had to stop myself numerous times to restart it, which seems to fix it. I'm assuming I need to flush the transmission but could there be anything else that could be a factor in it refusing to shift? it's well taken care of, so I don't know what else I could be doing to cause it to fail to shift.
Someone posted some links some pages back about tuning Civic engines for both power and high mpg.
Anybody want to repost those if you can remember what I'm talking about?

Before you flush it check the fluid level to begin with

Sounds like its throwing a DTC then going into limp mode almost.
Any check engine light or anything? Is it doing any amounts of hard shifting or soft shifting?
Before you flush it check the fluid level to begin with
Will do! Have someone I know in my automotive class looking into the transmission fluid issue to see if that's the cause. I'll have him check the level to see if that's the problem, which I hope it is.

No check engine light that I've seen yet. As for the shifting portion, I don't see it shifting at all. Car pretty much remains in 1st gear till you restart it.
Autocrossed in the rain today. Needless to say, spun out a couple times, got plenty of drifts going, and had a blast, despite being painfully slow still. Also, to end the day on a highnote, a dude let me ride around, then drive his modded S2000. Wow, what a difference from a mostly stock Miata! Basically did everything I thought I was capable of in my car, and then some! Whole shitton more grip (partly due to sticky tires), and much better power response. I stalled in like 3-4 times just pulling up to the start gate though :v:. Damn Miata clutch is so vague and forgiving that once I try a car with less tolerance and more resistance, I don't have a good feel for it. But eventually I got going and it was all good.
When I went from my Crown Vic to my Firebird the only thing that's changed is the height. You sit so low down in a Pontiac Firebird even people in smart cars look down on you.
It can't be as low as say a Miata, Lotus, or Viper, is it?

my buddy's 4th gen camaro/firebird0 is lower. I've never been in a viper but my aunt used to drive an exige and I had a miata for a short period and my buddy's camaro is lower than either
Turbocharging increases efficiency, with proper tuning you can absolutely increase fuel economy.
Here's a car with a turbo on the fancy JDM D15B 3-stage vtec motor which has both the 12 valve mode VTEC-E from the Civic VX/HX and the normal VTEC from the EX all jammed into the same SOHC head. I say that this motor is still infinitely better than the R series/L series that have replaced it for the last 20 years. The US model VTEC-E HX motor was rated for 44mpg highway, I'd probably assume that the JDM motor which was less economy orientated should be rated a slight bit lower.

Rallycross seems to be a more natural environment for a car such as a Fit. Better to be sliding it around and using the FWD as a forgiving friend. But once you're trying to rip them on tarmac, uggghhh! The understeer in those, especially for such a small light car, is so infuriating that I hardly ever have fun at work. Hurts even more that we don't maintain them, and still have snow tires on that are starting to get chewed up. So mildy chewed up tires with rubber meant for cold weather means I have even less grip than normal. Sigh...
I don't get rallycross, there's never any fear of death the way the lay out the courses. half the fun of hooning passenger cars offroad is taking jumps and trying to avoid wrapping it around a tree or rolling over in a ditch

Do you just need to know a friend with a rural plot of land in that case? I've grown up in the city so this kind of stuff is my first exposure to grassroots motorsport.
It's just hard to find anywhere to practice other than the local auto/rallycross events.

non sanctioned events are nice, but a bunch of good old boys ripping it up down fire roads is way more fun. have a buddy with a 4 wheel drive to yank you out of the ditch and EMS on speed dial.
of course proper safety gear is a must. roll cage, harness, fire suit, etc.. I would argue it's more important in this case than in sanctioned motorsport
This black magic wheel cleaner shit I bought didn't really do anything. Wheels were fricken clean except for dots in all the corners, I guess I was hoping for the cleaner to dissolve/loosen the dots but maybe my expectations were too high?
I was inspired to try this sort of thing after someone post about purple rain here ages ago. anybody ever have any luck with these sorts of products?

I am rather upset its 2.09$ a gallon. I liked it a lot more when it was 1.50$ a gallon. At this rate I'm going to have to figure out why I'm getting single digit MPG's out of my truck. :v:
Mf'er I paid $2.59 a gallon today.

Uhh, you do realize it's not in dollars, right? It's $6/gallon.

I paid $1.84 a few days ago. last year I saw under a dollar a few times
edit: welp it's $4.8 per gallon in hungary

What's your opinion on a 90's Suzuki Swift? I want to buy a cheap, reliable car 10 months later.

-whhhoooops-
That's exactly what you would get.
I have seen a lot of people love them along with the Georgia. Some are bad lemons and others get turned into very nice trail rigs for 4x4.
As you probably won't be sending it into mud and tight wooded trails I would say there are probably other cheap vehicles that would better suited for colder climates that don't have cloth tops. But I could be wrong ask MEPS how he likes his Geo up in Vancouver.
You're thinking of the Samurai.
The Swift is a little econobox thing.
They're known as the not-so-swift, and i really haven't heard much good about them
