He has a geo tracker, a suzuki sidekick which replaced the samurai God i hate my tablet
I don't get rallycross, there's never any fear of death the way the lay out the courses. half the fun of hooning passenger cars offroad is taking jumps and trying to avoid wrapping it around a tree or rolling over in a ditch
Whole idea of either auto or rallycross is to be a sort of transition for more challenging things. It gives you a neutral environment to practice the basics and get a non-consequential feel for going over the limit.
Just replaced the front and back brake pads for my 2007 Cadillac CTS 3.5 liter; the pads were completely broken down. Happy I didn't cause a crash beforehand
He has a geo tracker, a suzuki sidekick which replaced the samurai God i hate my tablet
Are you implying those are terrible cars? I mean, the Samurai is a batter car but the two are so similar that they share the same Haynes service manual.
Fordlord thought you had a geo metro
Fordlord thought you had a geo metro
That's not what I thought. DP was talking about the Swift as if it were a Samurai. The Swift that ichiman asked about is a little econobox, what DP was talking about was offroading, which is what the Samurai is about.
Mistakes were made.
The Talon refesh is going well.. all my shit came in and I've taken pretty much all the shit apart! Tonight I popped the timing cover off to check how the belt lined up.. it didn't. It was one tooth off, which I expected based on how it idled. So that's tomorrow's project, and then it should idle like a dream, I hope. Then all the stuff needs to go back together.. all the engine mount, subframe bushings, new radiator, new exhaust from the head down to the cat, including cat, 02 sensor. Finished the valve cover, trans seal, axle shaft, and wheel bearing yesterday. She's gonna be a new car! Total I've spent about $850 including the car itself, LOL. I'm gonna push it over the $1k mark and order some vinyl to wrap the car. With all the vinyl cutting Ive been doing I figure it's high time to try wrapping cars with real vinyl, not liquid wraps. Gonna do a Mitsubishi Zero style wrap.. white with red circles on the doors :v:
Got the Civic exhaust fixed today, exhaust shop patched the resonator and welded the hangers onto the top instead of the bottom to prevent wonderful issues. Like tearing the hangers which are welded in an x shape an inch and 1/2 lower than the resonator so it tears the hangers out. Been painting stuff while it's been down, it's got up to 98f so the days are unbearable to even go for a drive without A/C. :v: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-14%2018.37.04.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-06-02%2017.47.18.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-06-03%2015.38.42.jpg[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-06-04%2021.50.04.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-06-04%2021.54.33.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-06-04%2022.32.17.jpg[/t] Got my door handles all painted and was going to swap them in today since I replaced my window regulator and window. Ended up snapping one of my brand new $14.50 set of rear keyless door handles, luckily they're exactly the same besides the springs so i just swapped springs from one to the other on the other sides of the handles and now the cracked side is the spring side for the passenger side. Camper top for my truk? (The fiberglass dillys you see every old man with) I'd like to squeeze more mpgs out of her and be able to store tools and stuff so they won't get wet. I'd also lose functionality of my CB and would have to find a 102" whip to either go on the front or back bumper. Gotta have the CB. Optimistic for yes Dumb for no Tool for why the fuk would you do that when you have a suburban.

Even diesel guys with fancy toppers only claim 1.5mpg extra at most. Some gas jobs report losses from the extra weight. As long as you do enough highway driving to offset the stop and go, it shouldnt be an issue. My thoughts on it; If it's for the utility of it, i'd go for it. If it's because you want better MPG with tool storage as an afterthought, a tonneau cover may work better. That'd increase mileage all around without adding too much weight.

Looking through my pics, I have pics of my truck when i got it, and now, almost in the same spot, kinda neat.
aerocap or bust
If you trust the numbers that Ecomodders list, a DIY aerocap that is cab height on a full size truck averages 4MPG extra. Mini trucks, they report an extra 10MPG, but I have a hard time believing that. If 4MPG is true, an aerocap wouldn't be too bad of an idea.

I want to go full out on my silverado, with a full aerocap, sealed off bed/cab gap, rear wheel skirts, partial undertray, fix the nasty dent in my passenger side rear door, upper grille block, tune the engine for better fuel economy, and maybe an overdrive unit. if I could just get 20+ miles per gallon that would be rad as hell

I already get 20 out of my diesel with no aero mods at all. I plan on keeping my truck looking fairly classic, using as much original style or 70-80's style things i can. GM did offer a cab 'ducktail' spoiler on Amarillo and some crewcab models that I would like, supposedly a spoiler like that with no other mods is a 5% drag reduction.
the best mileage I ever got out of my silverado was 15 mpg over 150 miles with zero stops at 55 mph the whole way. realistically I get more like 12 but pure city driving I can get it as low as 9. I don't expect much change for city driving but hopefully on the highway I can pick it up to 20 mpg at 70 mph

Probably because its a big grumpy dehsel that tops out at 80mph. It only gets driven slow and is low geared as shit. If i was gonna do long roadtrips, id get me an overdrive.

Now I have to dig deeper into the F250's we got at work because they max out at 93 with a boat behind them

It happily cruises at 70-75, i've had it up to 85 in the past. It's more of a wind issue when i get up there. I drive it fairly fast most of the time, it's no stranger to interstates.
Our 2012 F-150 5.0 saw +2-5 MPG highway, depending on hills, once we put a shell on it. Plus it meant we could use the bed for weather-sensitive things like luggage for road trips. The 3.73's limit highway mileage though, we're lucky to get 20 out of it. [editline]7th June 2016[/editline] For what it's worth it tops out at 95 because of the limiter in 5th gear at 3.5k rpm, so there's at least another 20-40 mph worth of gears. It feels stable there if there's no crosswinds or corners.

With wind our '79 VW Kombi at like 60mph is terrifying. It also happens to be the top speed so that all works out.
I think anything that isn't AWD and fly-by-wire is at least a little terrifying at 110+ I'll say that 150 feels like a Sunday cruise in my dad's fuckin BMW 550i though.

It is DBW, though.
