If you change a single tyre on the driving axle, it can cause increased wear on the differential. Of course it all depends on how big a difference there is. If you're unlucky like me and have a puncture a week after you buy a new set of tyres, swapping a single one shouldn't be a problem, but if you're years into the tyres, replace in pairs.

From walmarts angle, it's just turning away money, so why would we do that? We usually explain the damage it can do to people's vehicles and recommend replacing in pairs, but if someone really wants one tire, we're not going to turn it away for the most part.
A friend from church gave me a 36v dc 3hp motor. Dunno what to do with it. Gibe ideas.
make a jeepy kart
Eh, i imagine any cart small enough to work with a 3hp motor would be renered useless by needing 3 giant lead acid batteries.
Thanks for posting that Roadkill episode with the truck. Never seen the show before but they just got a new subscriber. Holy fuck that was insane.
Just would like to remind everyone again that if you're going to ride a motorcycle and don't want to be an organ donor on pavement, wear something more than a light T, frat shorts, and deck shoes when riding.

I dunno I think I might die of dehydration in heavy canvas pants down here right now.

Oh man, I'm not a smart man. I were loosing the front subframe on my SAAB and somehow managed to go the wrong way when removing the bolt under the driver's side and break the bolt. I hope I didn't fuck up the threading. Hopefully I'll have the entire engine and stuff removed in a few days so I can fix it into a working engine.

I do wear thick jeans, boots, and gloves at all times but it's too damn hot to wear a full jacket during the summer in mississippi. during the winter I do wear a leather jacket but in the summer I'd rather maybe bleed than definitely have a heat stroke. [editline]12th June 2016[/editline] that's not an exaggeration either, probably 3 or 4 years ago I had major heat exhaustion problems from riding in the summer with a jacket. having ichthyosis means I already have issues sweating so I'm very susceptible to overheating. haven't worn a jacket in temps over 85 degrees since [editline]12th June 2016[/editline] keep in mind 85 degrees here means a heat index of 110

what gloves do you guys use? I was always a Mechanix guy but the quality has really sunk in the past few years. I just killed my last of the pre-redesign gloves not too long ago, bought a new pair and they lasted me about 4 weeks. went online and found a lot of similar complaints, so I don't think it was just my pair. it seems getting them wet or oily kills whatever material they're using now, and that's not good for a heavy use glove

bare hands and orange goop for most work, but If I need gloves for something like sharp edges, extreme heat, ect, I have a pair of duluth trading company winter proof work gloves. Good insulation, good padding, heavy stitching, good grip, and waterproof.
what I work on requires protection from more than just dirt. tetanus is my biggest concern. [editline]13th June 2016[/editline] if it's just gunk I have to worry about yeah bare hands and fast orange all day
If its a pretty grimey/sharp/tough job with little finger dexterity needed then I use thin deerskin welding gloves or BDG gloves. Gorrilla gloves arent too bad either
If its a pretty grimey/sharp/tough job with little finger dexterity needed then I use thin deerskin welding gloves or BDG gloves. They make great albeit expensive workgloves tho
Thats all we have around the garage, MIG and TIG, for ARC at work I like a little thicker pair (leather?) but if its a small -quick- job then the deerskins work good. My dads a welder so last i counted we have close to 24 pairs of deerskin gloves around the garage haha! Lots are grimey and old so it doesn't matter if they get beat up working on cars. The deerskins are nice because they're tough enough to take a short mishap from a grinder or something sharp, but not thick enough that they'd be the reason you had the mishap in the first place
I finally got the gear lever sorround interior part for the Supra today. It took me 4 months to find one of these, and now I just need the sorround for the steering wheel collum for the interior to be complete. [t]http://i.imgur.com/yAL0OUd.jpg[/t] This is what the interior looked like around the time I got it: [t]http://i.imgur.com/TtLy5pL.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/KhWJHsX.jpg[/t] And this is the interior as of today. I need to disassemble and refit all of it again as theres some pretty big gaps here and there, so I'll need to give iit some love to look good. But I'm very happy that the interior is 95% complete now!
So I was changing the oil on the Miata yesterday and I looked at one of the shocks and saw 91/12/13 printed on it. I still have the stock suspension on a 24 year old car with 145k miles on it. I think it's time to save up to replace it... Probably thinking about this: https://www.flyinmiata.com/na-stage-1-5-suspension-kit.html

I can't handle small bolts and stuff properly. However without gloves I've managed to cut me on a waterpump and also I cut by mistake again on a saw on the same spot.
Gloves are awesome. Work on a car all day, take the gloves off and you're practically clean. Makes clean up a million times easier.
Using orange goo to get your hands completely clean after a day of working on a car is so satisfying, though.
I use bear hands and my carhartt overalls 💪
