I use some pink shit off the snap on truck that is similar to orange but leaves your hands moisturized and makes your hands fell better.
But normally bareally handed until I change oil or something when I know I'm going wrist deep in liquids or caked on fluids.
Using orange goo to get your hands completely clean after a day of working on a car is so satisfying, though.
Don't worry, there's plenty of other areas to wash:

That's what working in a t-shirt all day will do to you.
So I was changing the oil on the Miata yesterday and I looked at one of the shocks and saw 91/12/13 printed on it. I still have the stock suspension on a 24 year old car with 145k miles on it. I think it's time to save up to replace it...
Probably thinking about this: https://www.flyinmiata.com/na-stage-1-5-suspension-kit.html
Makes you feel any better my s10 is still rocking stock shocks... and they need replaced.

If you can find a set of the OEM Bilstiens you can send them off to Bilstien to get them revalved however you wish, they should be able to revalve them for whatever springs you want to use. That seems a touch steep in price since Bilstiens/Konis/Tokicos run about 145 a shock and good springs are about $200-230. Do you think their top hats are worth $150? THMotorsports and Tirerack usually have good deals on suspension.
Speaking of broke, I had to drive 400 kilometres (250 miles) the other day with my BMW (E28 520i). Although I was very proud to have managed 7.7 L/100km (about 31 mpg), paying €52 for fuel is still a hit on my student budget. It's what you get for owning a car, I guess :v: although that doesn't mean you don't get a view to enjoy, of course.

I regularly pay that a day now pulling a boat + fuel for boat.
Life is hard.
Yes that's about 25 gallons. Usually 10 gallons for my truck and the rest in the inefficient as fuck two stroke that goes Brap.
What was that one webhole that had a whole library of service manuals and required a key to use it?

my yamaha 90 2 stroke gets decent enough mileage. not as good as my old 30 horse evinrude that I had on the skiff, but still not bad. I know with my 35 gallon tank I can make my way from gulfport harbor to the louisiana bayou, putt around there, come back, and still have enough fuel to fish around back bay the next day. probably get around 6 gallons per hour

I'm jealous. Our boat is rated for gulf travel (previous owner was in Baton Rouge) but we've just got the lake here. It's got a 60 gallon tank too.

Hell, according to Tirerack right now, the Bilstein B6 HD is only $110F/$105R, so I'm very inclined to go with those and maybe springs, since I too still have OEM shocks. They say they essentially go around 30k, and I'm about 5k away from that mileage, so I figure I might as well look in to replacing them.
Problem is, I still really need to get my CF hardtop window in so I can finally drive with it, and then move on to putting the Harddog roll bar in. I could also really use some grippier tires and light rims. So if I really felt like splurging, I'm sure I'll come close to another $1,500 spent for the tires/rims and shocks/springs :frown:. Sure, I wouldn't be flat broke afterwards, but I try to be somewhat constrained with my monies since I make fuckall for a wage. Just a really great penny pincher, and living the parents helps immensely.
my truck needs new suspension too but I just don't want to mess up my perfect stance

If you wanna go for the budget setup, a lot of people pick up the OEM Bilstiens then revalve them and toss ebay coilovers at them. After you get the sleeves you can further tune the suspension the way you want by buying different springs to toss in from places like QA1.
You could just grab those Bilstiens and toss some $45 Civic coilovers at them or buy Ground Controls if you wanted to. If you went that route you could even get your car corner balanced at some point if you live around a place large enough that there's a good alignment/tuning shop. Coilovers are always something you can flip for pretty much the same cash down the road too.
I'd also make sure that the Bilstiens come with bumpstops, I had to call Tirerack and confirm that they had them and they were able to get Bilstien on the phone and confirm that Integra Type-R spec B8's had bumpstops despite being pictured absolutely nowhere on the internet with them. Look up the "Better Bilstien Ebay Coilovers" or something like that, they're really creative using ebay coilovers and Civic bumpstops trying to work around extremely expensive parts. There's probably more knowledge in that thread about how springs/shocks work that all of Honda-Tech.

Tirerack is amazing to deal with if you decide to go through them, their customer service is definitely among the best.
I took apart alot of my dads ol reels and afew of them still had his greasy fingerprints inside the spool.
Water works right there....
Who has ever attended hot rod power tour as a spectator? I think I'm going to go tomorrow for giggles.
Fixed the damn lawn mower. I gave up on actually trying to diagnose the problem so I bought a new carb, new air filter, and new spark plug for less than $20 and it runs like new now.
Was probably a clogged air filter or something stupid like that, but for $20 you might as well get a new kit
day 8: wal mart still hasn't shipped my 4th tire
suspect i am going to have to trade my car in for a reliant robin
Day 12 : arrived at hot rod power tour.
Soooooo many cars.
Meet friburger.

So I'm interested in picking up welding, after reading some it seems like MIG welding would be the most cost-effective and easiest way to get in.
What kind of budget should I be thinking of, when buying (second hand?) gear to get started? Any particular brands I need to look (out) for? Any tips are welcome either way!
Installed new weatherstripping... For doing it for the first time ever I only screwed up a small part which was easily fixed. Hoping it holds for a year or so
Mission successful.

You can tell how good a driver is by how they take left turns

Aggressively and with little attention to what's oncoming seems to be the status quo here.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
And PILLS, although my point was meant to be humorous it still stands. Don't be embarrassed to take less than ideal routes for the time being to avoid difficult situations while you learn the road.
