OOOh, please keep me posted or send a link to a blog or somesuch. I'm a huge fan of the PRR Loweliners.
that was my first thought, but after reading some reviews and comparison tests, it looks like the 70 liter coleman extreme 5 comes very close to yeti performance, but 50$ rather than 400$.
Get yourself a damn good ice chest and it'll last a week if the conditions are kept right. Also, you can pick up small blocks of dry ice, shield them in the bottom of the chest from the rest of your stuff and it'll last even longer. Just make sure your food is sealed up real well.
How long can a really good quality cooler keep stuff cold? Provided its out of the sun and not opened too often ofc.
With ice 4-5 days no problem.
Get a cheap generator and solve all your power problems?

blop best little genny's ever.
Best 2000 watt is a Honda 2000i.
the 3500watt range is the champion / harbor freight.
anything above that is harborfrieght.
No one sells a "bulletproof" genny. They all will die eventually. Except Onan.... NEVER DIES.

I just noticed my avatar is not straight.....
Anyone ever make a set of ice racing tires??

I helped my buddy make ONE today.. one tire. Thousands and thousands of screws. My hand is still tingling. I don't recommend it, lol.

I wish I could find an old tiny generator around here, but all the ones on craigslist are either too big to go with me in a truck camper, or way too expensive for what they are.

Jesus what's the point of having that many
The rubber is mostly useless on the ice, and since that's a motorcycle tyre, you also need to be able to lean and maintain grip.

reduce the structural integrity of the tire

Could go with a lot less though

What the fuck, this is seriously like 15 minutes away from me.
There's a supercharged 4agze toyota corolla up for sale for $2000 in my area, holy hell that is really tempting for buy for a bit of fun and maybe a daily.
Any thoughts on the Lexus IS200 ? The 1G-FE engine seems pretty neat actualy
Went out snow wheeling last night, my open diff 2wd behaved as expected.
My internet is being a whore so I can't upload the pictures as of yet, but there will be a youtube video at some point once I send my friend my gopro footage and he edits it all up.

Oh yeah, and i remembered after it was too late that my CB antenna was going to get hit, knocked it off the roof into the bed and she broke off ;_;
My truck deoes amazingly well in deep show, even with the camper on. I was up at my friends dads farm so we could ask him if we could store the bus on his land, and between his shop and his house was about 2-3 feet of uncleared windblown snow. I didnt know it was that deep, so I figured instead of going back out the driveway and down the road 200 meters, id take a shortcut. Halfway through, I realized how deep it was and just about got stuck, but it just kept digging away slowly. I got to the house and looked back, and the first thing that came to mind when i saw the giant snow canyon I had made, was that I remember my friend's jeep getting stuck in snow that deep on a couple occasions.
My truck does pretty good in snow. Only complaint is it's so light that, during the past ice storm, it was floating on top of the snow with the 285/75/16 tires. If I get rich, I'd like 255/85/16 tires for the best of both worlds.
Coming up the drive way, I would be floating on top of 4" of snow, spin the tires, and sink down. It would then hop and skip its way up the hill as it would climb on top of the snow, then fall through again.

The weight probably helps a lot honestly. The truck I was plowing with weighs about 10,000lbs and had a 2,000lb pallet of concrete over the rear axle, spun the tires easily but never got her stuck.
The reason we stuff so many screws in is to avoid the tire flexing as much as possible, plus to spread out the weight onto more and more screws. If there's 20 screws at any given time contacting the ice, they're far more prone to push back into the tire than if there's 200. The car he's using is a '91 Civic hatch, so not very heavy, but even so after last week his tires that were fairly sparse in screws just pushed in and that was that. The ones we built were like the gif I posted.
Today's job was a heater core on a '03 Accord. 160,000 miles on the antifreeze left half the heater core plugged, so only the passenger side got heat.
Out comes the dash

And then the heater core comes out.. and repeat steps in opposite order

Crummy pic of the plugged passages.. the blue antifreeze turns into a kind of slushy substance, like applesauce, sort of.

The owner was trying to tell us he didn't think that was the problem because he's "Done some mechanical work in his day."
Too bad for him we've done more, and actually know how to diagnose things properly. But you know how it goes. The whole job took 4 hours including 20 minutes to wolf down some tacos. Then the car got its cooling system completely flushed and refilled with 100% new antifreeze to prevent this from happening again.
Also, got some FC RX7 door panels to build these speakers into for a buddy.. Should be fun.

Uhhh... I'm slightly jealous. I use to have acess to alldata online but not anymore due to the company wondered who kept entering audis into the system and showed up in the "recent history"... They changed the password.
:S That's stupid. Buy one off Ebay? Lol
