Aside from actually being hungry, hence the food related dance move (thinking of some kinda shoulder-shimmy move) it turned out to be the steering gear box is lose, giving a 5th avenue equivalent to motorcycle death wobbles from 35 to 50 or so.
So I told her it needs replaced and soonish we'd figure out a good day to get it done.
She also has 4 kids so cheese on the inside is a distinct probability. :v:
I'm seeing tons of these fuckin polaris slingshots everywhere I go. What's the deal? They're everywhere. I saw 4 separate ones today. Are they just cheap or something?
If I wanted a 3 wheeler I'd get a Morgan.
I think people like it because it looks different plus only weighing 1,800lbs and having a 180hp motor.
Sounds fun to me.

Hey bike guys, I found this for sale today:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/d0JZINJ.jpg[/t]
Would be my first motorcycle, I just sort of stumbled upon it on my way home from work but I don't know anything about that particular motorcycle.
Thoughts?
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Also, is it me or is it mandatory for a motorcycle owner to lose their title?? Nobody ever seems to have them.
1500 for a difficult to maintain 70s bike with no title, probably doesnt run.
:puke:
I can get a functioning, decent condition goldwing WITH title for 1500 on craigslist around here.
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Speaking of goldwings, after weeks of fidgiting with the carbs, trying a whole new carb rack, ect, I finally got the GL1000 running right. Guess what it was? I never bothered to check the ignition timing, and it was set to the TDC mark instead of the full advance mark.
Dear P.O.
IF YOU WONT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, DO NOT INSTALL AN AFTERMARKET IGNITION SYSTEM.

This thing rides like a wild boar with a mace coated cactus up its ass.
I love it.
When you can't afford MotorTrend On Demand...
...You go out and create your own Roadkill moments.
Traded a box of wine for this 1978 caravan which had been sitting for (as we found out after we'd picked it up) atleast 16 years. The front window broke, and they parked it up against a hill, up a hill next to a national road. 2 of the support legs came easy, one was a bitch to do, and we couldn't get to the last one. So we just pulled it out with it down.
Pulled out on the road just fine, drove maybe 1-1,5km and my mate wanted to fill the tyres up properly (we'd just inflated them enough to get it rolling) Saw two sidewall bulges and though "whatevs", drove another 500meters, when POP. The sidewall popped.
Pulled over onto some dirt, and got to changing the wheel. Luckily I brought the wheels off my trailer. Which I think were 3" smaller than the camper wheels, and were only rated to 315 and 325kgs. The Camper weighed 820kg. Add to it the fact we were pulling it with my mate's HiLux, which has a ridiculously high hitch, and it was actually partly resting on one support leg. I could see into the cords on the other tyre as well, so we changed both.

Drove the remaining ~10kms home at 40km/h, scraped every speedbump and tore up the lawn backing it up here. Now I'm just waiting on starting to tear it down and build a regular trailer out of it.
Little video of us scraping the speed bumps:

Me and you are kinda on the same page. I would love a ninja 300 - 600 because everywhere I live is highway. But I know I would probably kill myself on one so I've been looking at the Victory Gunner with the straight exhaust and touring package. Yes please. I would enjoy me some V Twin action.

Yeah, I'd love to have a 500-600cc bike so I didn't worry about getting tired of it, but I'm not a big guy in the first place and I feel like starting on anything bigger than a 250 will be asking for trohble
Who here has shitbox stories /pictures? I'll share mine:
I had a 1997 Buick Century that I'm pretty sure was flooded. Most of the electronics did not work, and would stop working again shortly after fixing/replacing them. The rear suspension was also permascrewed, and ate tires left and right.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/vPWUY0n.jpg[/t]
Here I replaced a faulty instrument cluster. I later replaced it again. Look at all those warning lights.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/3fhg1RV.jpg[/t]
I got tapped about 3 times in parking lots, so the front bumper looked like trash. I found another Regal to pull one from.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/W7OlyTD.jpg[/t]
All of the buttons had the paint worn off of them and were encrusted in this goop that didn't come off. I replaced them all with woodgrain ones out of a Regal GS.

Here is my car after I noticed I was hauling 15 gallons of water with me everywhere. Rubber strip sealing the cabin air intake box fell off allowing water in. I had the carpet out again later for a faulty airbag module, and ended up buying a new non-moldy carpet just to sell it.
Lesson learned: Don't buy cars from trailer trash, even if they're old trailer trash.
Okay so! Im using the spare tyre for my camry and its working fine, on my way home, it felt like one of my tires became square as my car was all wobbly, so after a few more minutes, I hear like this slapping sound, I pull over and it seems like my back driver tyre bands exploded, drove rest of the way home doing 25ish, it holds air but it still has bands all sticking out and its the same thing that happen to my driver front tire, but worse. I'm about to buy all four new tyres for it but at the moment, I can only get two. But won't have time till like, monday. So my question is
I have a 300zx that I have no plates for but I have insurance (Reason I have no plates is title issues that im figuring out, anyways) So I really need to get to work tomorrow which is only a 7 minute drive doing 50ish, I REALLY don't trust that tire and should be able to drive the 300, thing is, should I put my camry plates on it, or should I just put no plates on it and just hopefully I don't get pulled over or if I do, hopefully my sob story works?
My car gave me the Wrench Light today while driving a guy on Lyft. Cruise control cut out and wouldn't come back. According to google the wrench light is for powertrain failure state and/or puts the car into limp mode (it was driving normally for me). Alternately, it could be for ETC failure (electronic throttle control). After I dropped the guy off, I turned the car off and restarted it and it's been fine since. Should I be worried? I honestly would not be too worried about driving it normally, but it would be a good idea to hook up a OBD dingle berry to it to see what shes complaining about.

Gotta do what you gotta do. Can you get a ride? If you do get pulled over, the cop probably won't give a shit about your predicament.

you're right to not trust that tire. what year is the camry? if it's 04 or newer it's got the same lug pattern as the 300zx and you can just swap the wheels for the time being.
otherwise, I've driven some illegal as hell cars in my lifetime and my advice for not getting caught is as follows:
stick with no plates. you're more likely to get pulled over for no plates than wrong plates but you're in way less of a world of shit for no plates than using plates not for the car. fraud is about 90 times more illegal than no registration and will be the difference between a nasty ticket and getting arrested and having your car impounded.
stick to 3 or 4 miles per hour over the limit. cops rarely speed unless they're en-route so they're not going to sneak up behind you and spot your out of date registration. just don't go so fast that you get busted at a speed trap.
on multi-lane roads, stay in the right lane wherever possible. being in the right lane means less people will be able to see your plates, and it gives you an escape route. if you're in the right lane and there's a cop in the middle, you can duck into a parking lot way quicker than he'll be able to follow you. they're not going to clear a building for a traffic violation. on single lane roads, identifying cars in front of and behind you is considerably less work, meaning it's easier to spot a cop.
a gas station is the best place to lose a tail. cops will almost never follow you in. pull up, get out, ignore the cop (unless he's already flipped on his blues), and either get gas or go inside. if he moves on, great, if he circles, just make a phone call. they don't care to stick around that long, but if they do then be prepared to keep that phone call going for the next 3 hours. you might get lucky and it be the end of his shift anyway and he'll move on right away, or you might be stuck there for a while.
stick to freeways wherever possible. there are less cops to begin with, and the cops that are there aren't looking for registration, they're looking for dipshits doing 90 in their dad's bmw.
if you're driving at night, learn headlights. looking for crown vic lights doesn't do you much good these days, but there are still some tricks you can employ:
police cars are fleet vehicles, they're not going to spring for fancy xenons or leds.
police cars will never have dim headlights
police cars will never have excessively bright headlights
police cars sure as shit will never be a padiddle
narrow or round headlights aren't used on any police package vehicle
if you know a cop is going to be pulling up next to you at a stop light, do that thing that people who can't drive do where they pull out into the intersection and then back up out of it. with any luck someone will have pulled in behind you and you can use their car as a shield to block their view of the plates.
traffic lights are your greatest enemy if you haven't already figured it out.
learn to spot unmarked cars too. if you see someone darting up behind vehicles, staying for about 10 seconds, and then darting up behind another vehicle, it's a cop. if you see a bunch of shit on the dash that isn't just paperwork or trash, it's a cop. if you see a car with the back seat caged off, it's either a cop or a cab, treat them the same, being cautious isn't going to kill you. if you see a car with a dark tint, assume it's a cop.
it's not relevant to this situation, but if you just had expired plates:
if you're in a state with front plates, remove them. cops in front won't know where your vehicle is registered, and cops behind won't know you don't have a front plate, just don't let any cops overtake you. they probably won't notice, but they might. if you pass a cop, you've got the jump on them, allowing you ample time to pull into a parking lot and duck into a building.

I've gotten away with writing fake bill of sales for a trailer that I rarely used and didn't make fiscal sense to register too. don't think it'll work for something with a vin but it's worth noting. in that case, I had originally bought the trailer from a friend and told him of my methods in case I ever had to go to court over it.

I don't know your local laws, but around here, putting unoriginal plates on a car or trailer is the same as forgery, even if they are official plates.
Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask but:
I have a 2000 Jeep wrangler. I had a brake line burst 2 weeks ago due to rust. I got the one fixed but the others are in pretty bad shape too so they need to be replaced before I go back to school in the fall.
Should I get stainless steel brake lines or regular steel ones? I'd like to save money where possible so I kinda want to go with regular steel ones but will they rust out quickly? Is there some kind of anti-rust stuff I could put on regular lines to keep them from rusting for a while? I tried googling my question but all I got was stuff for installing stainless steel brake lines, nothing comparing the two.
Get regular steel lines. Most cars out there have them and they work fine. Stainless "lines" are usually for the last bit out to the calipers and are braded, because they have less flex than rubber lines for better brake feel.
I guess you could paint the lines or something, or just use anti-rust undercoating. If you're having problems with rusting brake lines you probably have problems with rust elsewhere.

I started out on a Ninja 250 and I firmly believe I'd have killed myself on anything larger. I rode for 6 months before taking the MSF, not realizing how woefully ignorant I was. The MSF will save your life at some point on the road.
The Ninja is also cheap, super reliable, easy to work on, and gets excellent fuel economy. Even if you grow out of it over the course of one season, who cares? Flip it and get a larger bike when you're ready.

you could also get copper lines, they don't rust ever.
basically any car in denmark that gets brake lines done will be copper.
Another thing to note, keep your old registration stickers. If you absolutely must drive an unregistered car, put on one of the old stickers that happen to be the same color as currently. Ofc that doesnt matter if your state just got new plates (fuck you sd you got mt rushmore wrong how do you even).

That is clean but automatic
Welp I just drove past a burning car, everyone just drove on by while the elderly couple just stood there. For some reason (lazyness) I still had last weekends racing gear in the van so I had a fire extingisher with me. I couldn't open the hood for some reason (1985 suzuki alto i think) so I managed to put the fire out through the grill and underside of the car. Felt so surreal :v:
Here's the real kicker, the burning car was standing on the opposite street from a firestation...but for some reason there wasn't anyone. In the rush of it all I didn't take any pictures tho.
In the end it did show me how fucking powerless you are when you even have a small fire. So I'm for sure gonna carry one with me at all times.
So yeah that's my story for today. I also build a shitty workbench. More pics on that later.
That just gives him an excuse to do an LS swap. Save the poor car, do the right thing noc.
That's the idea, unless something happens to the car before I get the chance it definitely isn't going to stay an auto.
It only had 80,XXX miles and 6 owners over the past 24 years, would not be surprised if it was a weekend toy for a few older people since it never left Florida
I'm having a lot of fun with it though, I'd buy another auto again if my choices were limited
That just gives him an excuse to do an LS swap. Save the poor car, do the right thing noc.
Is there anything you can't put an LS into?
you could also get copper lines, they don't rust ever.

Copper's oxidation actually protects it against corroding further.
Which makes it a good alternative to stainless steel when it comes to brake lines.
Also much more flexible to route, which means you don't have to buy lines made specifically for each car, but just the copper line, fitting endings and the tools required to work with copper lines.
