Clutch, I got a question for you. Is there such thing as a double din head unit that is just plain old black plastic, simple knobs and buttons, but still has an aux jack? Essentially the face of a factory radio and the better sound and aux jack of an aftermarket. If not, I suppose Ill dig out my uncles led zeppelin cassettes and settle for the 80s stereo experience, or smacking the dash until the left speaker starts working. And no Im not even consider one of those bastardy aux to cassette adapters.

Unless you're making about 30 of them that seems like a lot of effort for one or two parts
Bought a d16y8 intake manifold a few weeks back, super dirty but it had a IACV and a good obd2 throttle body which doesn't have a evap port or a terrible mechanical idle valve(FITV). Specifically I was just looking for a TB which for $20 for the whole thing was perfect. The intake manifold was absolutely covered in soot, it's almost the entire thing was INSIDE of an exhaust as it was thoroughly coated inside and out somehow. The car could have burnt down as well but I'd assume for some heat damage on the parts if that happened. I took the IACV off and noticed someone played with the idle screw on the TB which is a big no-no generally. Here's where it gets hilarious though. All of the following was jammed inside the idle port/hole in the throttle body. Two pieces of hood to wiper cowl weather stripping, one hood cowl clip/weather stripping clip, and a hunk of RTV. I had to pull all of it out from the port that's all soot covered. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-01-27%2003.34.19.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-01-27%2003.34.32.jpg[/t] Next I found that the idle screw was taken out and the end of it was sealed with RTV which makes no real sense since it's designed to not leak as it's basically a tapered needle. I assume the motor it was on somehow ingested a lot of debris from around the car from what I could only imagine as running an open throttle body for sick JDM noises. I'd assume that they ran it into the ground hard and drove it til it bust it's poor pencil thin internals all over the ground. I got it all nice and cleaned up, I'll have to adjust the base idle the dirty way but the throttle stop screw hasn't been messed with so the TPS/throttle plate should be in spec and the intake manifold actually looks to be fairly low miles since there's no large build up of oil with all original gaskets which were in good shape. It also still has most of the original molybdenum seal around the throttle plate unlike mine. This should fix up my minor and occasional idle hunt on my Civic and delete the junky FITV as well as I can probably clean the mani then turn around and sell it for the $20 I paid, if not $30-40 if I toss in some spare sensors and shit I have laying about! It wasn't a lot of effort really, just had some scrap bronze and spare time at work. I haven't done any casting before, CNC machining is just my forte. I'm going to finish it today, I'll post some final pics later

Edit; To get better sound and aux, you'd likely have to do the soldering mod. I'm not sure if I have seen a classic style double din, that was reputable quality, with aux. Nowadays, most of the shaft style, old style double dins, etc. are low quality.

Lately I've been searching for competent GoPro alternatives. I've been riding to work on a motorcycle everyday for around 5 months now and it would be nice to have something to record with in case anything happens. I started off with an SJ4000 that I bought for $23. The quality wasn't very good, but I was still impressed that I could buy 8 of the things for the cost of an entry level GoPro. The main features I wanted were 1080p at 60fps and external microphone support. Unfortunately, not a lot of cameras have native external mic support (even though the SJ can be modified to do so, it takes some work) so this narrowed my search somewhat. I settled on a GitUp Git2 - the highest performing knockoff of its class. I bought it for $120 with a pack of goodies and an external mic. It's an impressive little camera. Native wifi, external mic, 2k resolution support, gyro stabilization, this thing has a lot of features for such a low price. It's also compatible with all the leftover GoPro accessories I've purchased over the years, like cases, mounts, batteries, and adapters. I've been recording my rides with it for the past couple of weeks and am very satisfied with my purchase. A fraction of the cost of a Hero 4 with all the same features for a minute drop in quality is worth it to me. Here's a short clip to demonstrate its quality. Note that the external mic has been revealed to be mono only and records on the left channel. The mic is clipped to the wind baffle above my nose, though unfortunately my helmet still lets in a lot of wind noise. Worlds better than the built-in mic being exposed to open air though.
Where is this? I want to see that Alfa.
Motorhub in Keighley Honestly I wouldn't buy a car from there, it just feels like a place that collects anything from imports and PX's from other dealerships and sells it on, nothing specialist and not much pride in their collection other than dickwaving, all cars FEEL as if (might not be) they're treated the same unless its in their "Flagship" section of cars ranging from £280k-£100k or are really rare. They had 2 low mileage Pular GTIR's there, one had mould on the steering wheel. They might have fast, rare, unusual cars, but nothing feels special there
Does look like a generic public parking lot tbh
That's exactly what it was, a 4 story car park. What I was trying to say, it feels more like a storage place/trade-only sales rather than a public dealership, but it is public

Too bad everything is probably ruined on the car because it has a garbage piggyback. Hold up, LOL. It's a fucking manual CX with an automatic DX cluster. It doesn't have 64k. No side moldings and it has that HORRIBLE non-tilt steering wheel column. It's from North Carolina and someone decided to register it in MO with a tampered cluster. I'd bet serious money on it having the 72hp 4800rpm redline 8 valve D15B8 along with trans which would do 240mph on my motor at redline in 5th.
Not gonna lie, if it weren't for the carbon fiber the exterior doesn't look all that bad. Waaaay overpriced for what it is though.
So, diagnostic question? My friend's 2001 Wrangler (Manual 5 speed w/ 4.0L I6) has an interesting knock in the front end when coasting/braking that comes and goes. It seems to change speed as you decelerate as if it's engine related, but there's no CEL codes and it only does it on random occasion while coasting in second or neutral to come to a stop. No issues in the other gears and no knocking while accelerating. It's also very faint where you can barely hear it over the road noise at its loudest point in second at around 2.5k rpm. Any ideas what to look closer at and what might be causing the knock? She only started to hear it after using 4WH last week in the snow for the first time with the car.

I was kind of thinking front differential. It seemed to do it more readily when the wheels were turned, but only by a little bit did it really increase. It would do it maybe once every three stops or fewer. But I figured if it was front diff then it would need to be getting power to the front wheels to create a problem, which it was in 2H.

Check its fluid. I've seen more times than not someone hit on the front diff by accident and mud gets in there and causes weird noises.

I'd check all 4 front U joints, 2 on the driveshaft and one at each wheel. Bird, as far as what FordLord mentioned he's right on point I'd say. If you want a classic styled headunit that looks stock, modify the factory one if it has a tape player. Just need to disassemble and solder R, L, and Com wires onto the wires coming from the tape's reader head. Essentially this; You can flush mount into the face of the radio with a cord like this, too; http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1280&CategoryID=45 Then you'll probably have to just stuff in a tape deck adapter so it has something to 'play' while you're on tape source.
