They're not as nostalgic once you leave the PS1 versions

Do your memories a favor and just dont play it again. Its not what you will remember it as.
Rust looks great on classic muscle. You can always restore it later if you stabilize the rust, besides you'll be hacking most of it off anyway to do the resto. You'll never be able to un-restore it (without heavy guilt). I'd leave it as is, let it show its age and battle scars while still performing great. If it gets to a point where it compromises the integrity of the car, start looking at replacing the panels.
Plus more rust = less steel = less weight. It's actually a performance gain if you look at it right. Rusted out fenders gives you room for bigger tires, too. :v:

Parts falling off your car? impromptu weight reduction bro.

This is why we have Tape of the Duct and Ties of the Zip.
I'm really liking the idea of just leaving it. I've had the desire for a ratted car, and this makes it easy. And since we're finally getting a garage I don't have to worry about the Ohio elements.
But how the fuck do you stabilize rust in fucking Ohio?

You don't. Its insane moving down here from Ohio, jeeps actually last.

Low gloss clear-coat. Go easy on the outside and slop that shit on on the underside.
I have read that hot paraffin wax is a good way to suck moisture out of a rusted patch before clear-coating it, but I'm not really sure how you'd apply it to a panel that you can't take off.
I decided to change the oil in the burban because last time she would not run right it flooded the case with gas. And then.... this happened.

Fucking front pumpkin and driveshaft was in the way. Then I took it out for a drive around the block and now I think she is only a 7 cylinder. :saddowns: Extremely abnormal vibrations and magical blue smoke. Gonna throw a compression tester on her after the sun goes down to confirm shes a good donor for a 6.0 LS.
Umm. What am I looking at? Did you do that to it, or... Did something explode?
Looks like he hit some sticks/logs
I finally get my 2000 Nissan Sentra back on Saturday! I mean, the bumper has a massive hole in it and the whole frame is bent by a millimeter so the hood doesn't sit right and there's a dipstick stuck in the oil pan but I'm still glad to have it back (all of this is thanks to my sister btw).
The hood is still only primed so when I get it back I'll stick some black paint on it for my duration of my semester, since we're likely to trade it in for something else at the dealership sometime after. I mean the rest of the car is gold but what the hell. Black rust-oleum is cheap.
I think he used a screw driver to get the oil filter off

Roadkill is a car from twisted metal but it also resembles a car from the game Roadkill and also looks like it would be built and driven on the show Roadkill so this just leaves everyone in one big confused coincidence
Oh, also, check your axles. A lot of times with half-shafts they will knock when moving or rotating. I've only ever had my front half-shafts go bad, so they usually knock the worst at full lock, but rear axles can pop at speed rather than as they toe out.
Figured it out. At some point my dad had attempted taking the right rear wheel off in order to get at the splash guards there. He never told me so the car was driving around with only 2 barely tightened lugnuts. I am now post-drive terrified.
$860 to repaint the bumper on the Miata, and they can't fit me in until October because of a series of hail storms that blew through last week. Since I've got two months to save up, I think I'll just pay it myself and not have a claim on a 3 month old car.

Ding ding ding.
The good faithfull screw her right in the hole. I hate dealerships. I had to use a fuckign breaker bar on the oil plug. >:(
Just a suggestion that I could never leave without. A outdoor dual burner stove and a griddle attachment to sit on top. Easy eggs and bacon plus fajitas and pankackes and whatever else.
Also a cooler might be a PITA for your trip look into 12v refrigerators the expensive ARB, Engel , Dometic. I personally have the 33 quart dometic and I will never regret spending 700$ on a portable refrigerator. On the drive back from Port o connor this weekend I brought back frozen red fish , flounder , trout and ice cream! All stayed solid as a rock! It's fully adjustable on temp to dial down to a refrigerator.
Other than that you are golden.
I was planning on a small barbeque, but a propane stove is a good idea! Then i'd be able to cook pasta and the likes.
Yeah a cooler would probably last a day or two before I'd have to find more ice, and I'd ideally haul a good amount of food from home with the dollar being so different. How big is your portable refrigerator? Do you run it off an inverter or how does it stay powered?
I was also gonna make a hitch-shitter and leave that on the hitch for the way down :v:

Its just a small little 33 qt older style'd Dometic CF-35. It can run in 4 ways, DC(12v24v) AC(120v240v). If you have it in a running vehicle the ~4amps it draws wont even matter. But if you have a winch deep cycle battery I bet you can run it all night no issues. Only complaint I have with mine is it's not a combo. It's a refrigerator or freezer not both at the same time. The newer models have this handled but don't want to respend the 700$ for a newer model.

You can find them cheaper than 700$ now days. But be aware DO NOT buy these things at truck stops and stuff, there if two different type of these. One is a "chiller" and one is a full fledge refrigerator.
You can search for other brands, but generally stay away from no name brands. I've had mine for 4 years now off and on use mainly for long distance trips and keeping margaritas cold as fuk when going to the drive in theatre.
I did a new mod to my NSX today. You get it by letting a pickup truck back into you at a stoplight.

Their insurance should cover it all, and it didn't touch the hood, fenders, core support, etc I *think*.. but I'll let the body stop be the final say on that one. Either way, right after it happened I drove the 3 hours home with no weird issues/wheel alignment problems, so I think this one really maybe just be cosmetic despite the aluminum unibody.
Here's the tool we used to achieve the ~aesthetic~

And honestly that trailer hitch probably saved the car. It dug into the bumper and kept him from backing right up onto my hood.
Oh God that hurts to look at
What the hell was the guy thinking?
Acted like a hole punch wow. Clean cut for the most part.
...Backing up at a stop light? What?
He probably came to a stop in the intersection, either got cut off and the light changed or he just missed, and tried to back up out of the way.
