It was 3 lanes, left turn, mid to go straight, and right turn. We were in the left, and he realized he needed to be in the right, so he threw it into reverse to shimmy over and never even saw me behind him.
This is one interesting intersection, though. Last year we were at this same place for yearly training and the first day there was an accident with a car flipped over. Then the 2nd day there was another accident. This year there was a hefty T-bone accident yesterday, then this silliness today. Cursed, mang.
I fucking despise people like that. Own the fuck up to your mistake, make the turn and just safely turn around so you can get back on your commute.
Looking up the street view I found this little gem just down the road before the intersection in question, lol.

Did It manage to crack the bottom too or was that there before? Better make sure the bodyshop uses a genuine front bumper, none of that aftermarket garbage.... and do the job right.
Should scan your area to see if there is a bodyshop that specializes in exotics and specify that they MUST take it there, a standard bodyshop may botch or fuck stuff up when changing the bumper out.
There's a big intersection near me that used to have a bad accident once a month, usually someone getting t boned. Something must have been done about it though because I haven't seen or heard of an accident in months.
About a year ago a big F350 almost changed lanes into me back when I still had my little accord just past that same intersection. I had to swerve into the oncoming lane, luckily there were no cars.
Its just a small little 33 qt older style'd Dometic CF-35. It can run in 4 ways, DC(12v24v) AC(120v240v). If you have it in a running vehicle the ~4amps it draws wont even matter. But if you have a winch deep cycle battery I bet you can run it all night no issues. Only complaint I have with mine is it's not a combo. It's a refrigerator or freezer not both at the same time. The newer models have this handled but don't want to respend the 700$ for a newer model.
https://houston.craigslist.org/for/5691204894.html
You can find them cheaper than 700$ now days. But be aware DO NOT buy these things at truck stops and stuff, there if two different type of these. One is a "chiller" and one is a full fledge refrigerator.
You can search for other brands, but generally stay away from no name brands. I've had mine for 4 years now off and on use mainly for long distance trips and keeping margaritas cold as fuk when going to the drive in theatre.
I wish I could find a reasonably cheap 12v compressor fridge for my camper or the bus, that would be cool as fuck.

The tow hook cover is missing, not sure when it disappeared from this but it left as a result. There's a small stretts crack coming from one of the corners, too. I'm going to let the body shop guys do what they do best when it comes to estimating, get in there, replace whatever is necessary, rack it to verify frame straightness, etc. It's between the bodyshop and State Farm to get it all worked out, and I'll tell them "only OEM stuff!" If it was my Prizm or something, I don't care, but for this we can definitely all agree it's worth it to fight the insurance tooth and nail to get the proper parts and not allow it to be halfassed.
There's 2 bodyshops in my area I'm going to talk to tomorrow. They do really good work and I'm going to have a talk with them to see if they're comfortable doing it. In the end it's painting and probably blending a bumper cover in a gloss red. Not exceptionally difficult, even though the clear's tinted on those red NSXs. I think they'll give it the love it deserves.
If it turns out to have frame damage, which I'm hoping it doesn't, then I may look to see if there's some suggestions from the NSX forum guys just to make sure it all gets repaired properly.
Fingers crossed for no CubeMan Syndrome.
Just don't contribute to the death of another by helping block traffic for an illegal race
Alright guys, Poll time.
Topic: best way to unstick a stuck 454 olds.
funny: marvel mystery oil

zing: PB Blaster
info: brake fluid
Bonus question: how long should the soaking take?

50/50 mix of atf and acetone overnight usually does the trick
[editline]5th August 2016[/editline]
note that atf and acetone don't actually mix and you'll have to shake the hell out of it to get it in suspension, so do it in a container you can seal
sperm oil works better than atf but if you can get a hold of that stuff you can probably get a hold of a 454 that isn't stuck. nobody's producing the stuff anymore and based on ebay results the world supply has dwindled. 10 years ago it wasn't so hard to find. jojoba oil supposedly works just as well as sperm oil but the stuff is way to expensive for the application imo
[editline]5th August 2016[/editline]
straight kerosene works pretty well too

I may be of some assistance here???
I may be of some assistance here???
youve got sperm oil, or youve got an unstuck 454?
Anything works with enough soak time. Id use MMO or ATF for 12hrs and see if she will turn.
And keep her holes filled until she gave up.

pretty sure he's just got semen

Do you guys think my 91 300zx na will push a 75 mm holset he551 with a t6 flange :v: ?

That's what's so great about a kombi. It comes with the fridge built in. And the sink, and the gas range.

But westfalias are almost horrid. I don't belive I would ever trust the engines to ever make long distance trips. And that's including 1.8, vr6 and diesel conversions. I might be a single man buy by God I want my fucking full bath and full sized oven ffs!

We made it to Louisiana from Ohio with only one break down! It used to make trips out to Arizona all the time back in the day apparently.

69HP is really all you need anyway.

If its a heretical thermoelecric or vapor absorption cycle fridge i want no part in it. Vapor compression cycle refridgeration is the one true path to efficient 12 volt chilly enllightenment.
Sadly the only somewhat practical ones ive found are the truckfridge tf49 or tf65 for $500 and $550 respectively. Id love to have that kind of budget for the bus, but it looks like we are down to either 120v fridge on the generator, or 3 slide out shelves with coolers on them with a possibity of an ice machine on board ran off the generator.

It's a compressor fridge, not sure on the specifics.

2.4L diesel swap is bulletproof, as long as you remembered to vent the goddamn coolant system properly.
Seriously that's a good chunk of the overheating problems people have with those, it is a bit tricky to vent properly.
If we're talking T3's
Keep in mind the factory fitted & easily retrofittable 4 cylinder turbodiesels for those are notoriously shitty, since the turbo is too close to cylinder 4 with stock exhaust manifold (that is the only one that seems to work with the engines due to space constraints) and at some point ends up warping the alu head when you're beating the shit out of the engine on a highway.
The 2.4L Diesel swap requires some Audi 100 parts and some South Africa specific T3 parts, (and a donor T4 Transporter/Caravalle for the engine), but is overall bulletproof.
T4 Transporters & Caravelles may rust away, but the 5 cylinder engines pretty much last forever.
My dad's friend dropped a v10 in his old Kombi and used to drag race with it. No clue how the fuck he made it work but that would be terrifying.

you know, I have a running chevy 350 laying around, and a beetle that needs more power. might be a good weekend project
[editline]5th August 2016[/editline]
got a couple of 4 cylinder honda engines laying around that might be more practical but I've never been a practical man
Figured it out. At some point my dad had attempted taking the right rear wheel off in order to get at the splash guards there. He never told me so the car was driving around with only 2 barely tightened lugnuts. I am now post-drive terrified.
Watchout. Don't let NASCAR fine you and suspend your dad for two races because of lug nut violation. :v:
