I hadn't realized we (in the US) don't have a sort of federal level ruling on what constitutes an antique. But in general, 25-30 seems to be the average. No idea why New Hampshire is 26 years, it's a weird odd number.
Yeah when my parents moved from Ohio to Louisiana one of their cars went from antique to not and they were worried it might have to pass an emissions check :v:

Emissions check? In Louisiana? Lived there for 26 years. Never heard of such a thing.
Anyone have some decent suggestions for replacing an 08 Civic EX bumper? I have a gash in mine, so I really need to replace it one of these days.

Correct, they weren't positive if they had them when they first moved down. In certain counties in Ohio we do have checks and the car didn't have to pass because it was an antique.
I put a straightpipe on my minibike, its got a pretty nice tone to it now.

Replace the Nissan logo with the Steam one.

Get either a new OEM bumper or a used OEM bumper, don't get an aftermarket replica replacement. You can probably find one on Craigslist or at a junkyard in your color and just toss it right on.
Plastidipping a car.. is only for the strong of mind and body.
FOUR freaking gallons sprayable last night, took me like four hours. I was ready to drop dead on the spot. It's nice there's no prep, and nice it's removable, but wow is it a lot of gun time.
There was one point when I was juuuust about done with the pearl coat I stepped on the air line hard enough to collapse it, and it coughed a big glob of pearl with on the rear quarter. UGH. And the mosquitoes... it was like a plague. I swear the Autoflex High Gloss shit attracts them more than normal clear coat.
And the compressor... a 120v 21 gallon unit... running almost straight for 4 hours. I feel bad for that compressor. Something was going on near the end, the last 45 minutes or so the air system was just acting a fool, not keeping up. And my regulator needle is stuck at like 60 psi.. what?
Well, either way. The pearl glob can be covered with a sticker or something, and bugs are just tasty additions. Should be better than it was before anyways. I'll probably stick to normal paint, though, from here on out.

Are there any paint booth rentals where you live? I have a buddy who's dad paints cars every once in a great while since he flips a few a year to keep himself busy. Whenever he does a whole car he rents a booth and the paint always comes out pretty good.
Seems like a waste of money to pull like a B is for Build and manage to fuck up paint like 5+ times.

Rear windshield needs "steam.exe has stopped responding"
OR fill the entire rear postal deck with hats and do put "WE NEED MORE HATS"

Haha. Oh wow.
So, my best friend is out of the navy and is looking for a job. He and I are going to rent a house together for dirt cheap thanks to my family. We're hoping to get a small little project car to fuck around with. There's a first gen Miata for sale around the block which hasn't moved. Decent starter car if I can get it for nothing, or pass on something different, guys?
Miatas are fucking great
yeah if I had to have a regular sized car I'd have a miata
you know i drive a tiny car when i consider a miata a big car
Got my Charger. The little Miata looks like a toy. Especially the first gens. :v:
what are aa's thoughts on the new ford explorer
asking for a family member
Not a whole lot to say about them. Its a full size SUV. Dont expect good MPG. The interceptor models are fucking luxury compared to the vics for what it matters
Ugh Porsche guy on craigslist is flaking out. I checked the ad today and it was listed at $4k (down from 5) so I called him, and he texted me back later that he "wasn't sure if anyone would buy it for what he's asking."
Turns out he wants $5500 otherwise he thinks he'd just rather keep it. Come on dude.. edit your ad if to match your masking price. I asked if he'd entertain a $4500 or $5000 cash offer, and he said he was unsure and was still on the fence about selling it.
Soooo, if I were to guess, no Porsche for me unless I want to pay $5500 for a smashed Boxster that comes with a new bumper, headlight, and hood. Thoughts? I'm no super on it for that price I think.

I'd rather have a suburban
[editline]10th August 2016[/editline]
like honestly any modern car at a given price point by a reputable brand is going to be of about the same quality. these days ford vs chevy vs toyota vs whocares doesn't matter anymore. all that matters is that suburbans look better than explorers
