Had a diesel BT-50 run away today like 3 times, cunt is fucked. A few times it literally started to run backwards after stalling I shit you not, exhaust was coming out of the intake. Also heaps of random cunts became looky-loos, Like are you even Australian? Have you never experienced that much excessive noise and smoke before?

I'd only diagnose that for shits and giggles, because that engine is a boat anchor now.
Well, diesel runaway is just a inherent "fault" with diesel engines, so it's going to be possible with any engine, unless you have it detect runaway and cut the air. Probably has either shite rings or the turbo is blown.

Also runaways usually fucks up bearings unless almost instantly stalled given the much higher engine RPM. I'd rather swap in a engine from a low mileage donor when it's happened even 3 times, or just a single time over a longer period.
Finished this thing off. Would be fun to change up the colours on the racecar a bit to see what it looks like.
Finished this thing off.
That's plastidip, right? Damn, that turned out nice.
It's Autoflex and HaloEFX, which they call "professional peelable coating" or something. Cost about $550 with the pearls and all that stuff. We kept costs 'down' by using HaloEFX for the color and pearl coats, then topcoating with Autotflex High Gloss, since I couldn't find anywhere to buy the HaloEFX equivalent. In the end, I'm impressed. The good, It did what it advertised, being a peelable coating that looks and feels like paint. I was able to suspend pearls in the clear spray wrap, it shot nice from a gun, and it had less overspray. I peeled some of the stuff off of the masking and it seems like it would peel fairly easy if you wanted to rip it off.. just like a vinyl wrap. The bad, You shoot SO MUCH PRODUCT! The gloss coat even states on the can "needs to be shot over at least 10x coats". That's a lot. Like I said, I was ready to drop by the time it was all over, lol. The cure time on the gloss coat is slow. Traditional 2K clear takes about an hour, if that, before it skins over and it's safe from small bugs and dust. I'm not sure exactly how long this takes, but it's longer. Now, there is an accelerator you can purchase that works in conjunction with the hardener, but that's more money. The high gloss also requires mixing by weight instead of volume, which is weird. Not more difficult, but weird. The gloss coat also comes in gallons, of which you use about a half gallon to do a car this size. So a gallon is good for 2 cars, but if you're only planning on doing one, it's wasted money (and it's expensive). So, here we have a product that falls somewhere between paint and dip and vinyl wrapping. One one hand auto paint is toxic and smelly (only the gloss coat is smelly with this stuff), and requires lots and lots of prep and sanding. It's also a little more difficult to shoot, easier to get runs, etc. But the finished product is permanent and if you're good with the clear, looks awesome. Autoflex is less messy, and requires only as much prep as you want to invest for disassembly, etc. It looks about on par with a good vinyl wrap job, where the finish is basically as good as clear coat. It's a big, big job to do the actual spraying, and you need a booth that's just as clean as normal paint. If you mess up you can't sand a run out of the bottom coats, although you could probably dab it and keep shooting to blend it in. It takes a ton of product, and honestly costs about the same as materials for a normal paint job. Vinyl is the least messy of all, and with vinyl tech these days, looks almost as good as normal paint, too. The problem is installation of it. It's not the easiest and requires techniques and know how, significantly more than painting a car, IMO. With paint you find the happy medium to get a good finish and no drips, vinyl you have to bend to your will around every crazy corner. But you won't piss off your neighbors. For a wrap job you want the best quality stuff, like 3M, otherwise it's hell. So that puts a wrap job about the same cost for materials as well. One again, prep is only disassembly. The margin for it failing later down the road seems to be higher, too, like in the intricate sections if you install it 'wrong' or don't set its shape with heat. Then there's traditional dip. Slightly cheaper than all 3 options, and no gloss coat to worry about the finish. They have matte 'clear coats' that go on top, which give you a satin sort of finish, which can look good if it's the style you want, and still gives you the ability to experiment with pearls, but the pearls just don't pop like they do under a real shiny clear coat. Very easy to spray, no prep. Obviously a much more basic solution. There's my take on the major ways of changing color on your car.
I've got some plastidip with a primer and a top coat from Cardip UK. I've been contemplating if I want to do my wheels, they're already black but it's chipped away in some spots. Unsure how that would turn out though, everytime I've used black plastidip it looks really matt and more like a grey colour than black.
Got my license plates today!
Needs moar rollbar, wider and gripper tires yo
Hey so quick question, what would I be looking for that may be bad about this car? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-Lancer-ES-SPORT-/232019217837?forcerrptr=true&hash=item36056c4dad:g:Q80AAOSwZVlXjlgk&item=232019217837 Cause Lancers are pretty decent cars, and don't normally go for that cheap. This is also an uncommon trim package. I don't think I've ever seen ES Sport packages.
Needs moar rollbar, wider and gripper tires yo
Working on burning off the factory rubber, then I'll get some nice tires! A roll bar would be nice, but requires enough fabrication that it's not a given for me just yet.

next summer I really ought to rebuild the tired old 402 big block in my 72 C20. toss in a little meaner cam, headers, and mabe a few other cheap power adders.
Your seller has no ratings. If something seems too good to be true, it is
They have 31 eBay ratings, been a member since 2006. Google page has very high ratings in numbers. Car is priced about averagely (Lancers lose value fast.) The car does have some ricey mods that hurt the value. As long as theirs no $10 '25hp' chips that could've caused damage, it'd be a great deal.

Came across an i8 yesterday. That's a damn sexy space car.
Truck now makes a horrid grinding/scraping sound sometimes when in reverse. Sounds like it's coming towards the front. I've replaced the front passenger wheel bearing, brake pads, brake rotors, front shocks, carrier bearing, and rear u joint recently. This is going to be fun to narrow down. I also notice it is at it's worse in the morning. I'm in the process of googling the shit out of it. But there seems to be a crap ton of stuff it can be.

Well, looks like I'm paying for someone's new Corolla back bumper because of a mishap in a parking lot. Just what I needed before I went off to college. I'm the beige car He was pulled out the most so fair is fair, I'm at fault.
What? Did you stop before the impact? Then it should be his fault.
I like how it's animated and how all the cars are not parked straight or perfectly. except one It's alot better than the ms paint drawings people post here.
What? Did you stop before the impact? Then it should be his fault.
Technically yes, I stopped, but if I had looked harder, I wouldn't have pulled out at the same time he was. There's not really any way to prove to the officer what I did so this is just how it is. He made his decision. But hey, I got a warning. No ticket at least. However I have no idea what to expect for repair costs. [editline]12th August 2016[/editline] My car's damage: [t]http://i.imgur.com/SEC6aNA.jpg[/t] Their car's damage: [t]http://i.imgur.com/lW6DFIS.jpg[/t] I actually have a hard time finding where their bumper ran into my car. But their bumper... yeesh.
I bet with a heat gun and a good push from the inside you can fix that
Yeah but they want to take it to their dealer because it's still under warranty so I'm not allowed to touch it.
Huh, I always thought that parking lot collisions were 50/50 fault almost no matter what. Dumb.
