After saving up for a long time now, I've finally bought my first car at the age of 22. 2012 Dodge Challenger SXT. Got it for a fair price! 66k miles and one owner for 15k. I'm so fucking happy right now. My face doesn't really show it in the picture...
You're one third of the way there, now buy a Google Glass and run for politics.
Nice challenger, thought for a moment that cubeman had returned :v: what happened to your front plate? ...So how long until you become CubeManv3??? I want to see more driving montages where you film yourself and look grumpy
those are just 30 day plates, I'll get my hard plates soon! Yeah I'm still waiting for my black leather jacket and google glass to come in, and I'm going to start debating people in SH today so I can say I'm a politician. So maybe a week? Some say if you say Neider 3 times in the mirror, when you wake up your car will be on bricks
Found this randomly while surfing @ Youtube
Talking about clutches! Installed a new heavy-duty racing pressure group, light weight racing flywheel and racing clutch in the racecar today. Only had to take the tranny out 3 times! First time thought I had the clutch the wrong way around, second time to prove it wasn't. And the third time to grind a bit of the clutch due to the smaller flywheel. But it works now! Flywheel is 5KG now. Revs really fucking fast, picks up great too
its not a lightened stock one is it
Griefing Mr. Eyebrows aside; How do you like the 8-sp on the 3.6?
I wish It did have 8 speed, the 2012 only has five. Either way, the shifting is pretty smooth and usually timed pretty well. I have had slight delays but only between first and second gear. Keep in mind that I am used to a 98 Chevy blazer that's on its last limb, I can REALLY tell when that one shifts.
I thought they replaced the NAG1 with their 8-sp when FCA took over in 2011 for the SXTs in the LX platforms? Oh. Well, then nevermind. I already know how the NAG1 is. :v:
I'd check all 4 front U joints, 2 on the driveshaft and one at each wheel. Bird, as far as what FordLord mentioned he's right on point I'd say. If you want a classic styled headunit that looks stock, modify the factory one if it has a tape player. Just need to disassemble and solder R, L, and Com wires onto the wires coming from the tape's reader head. Essentially this; You can flush mount into the face of the radio with a cord like this, too; http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1280&CategoryID=45 Then you'll probably have to just stuff in a tape deck adapter so it has something to 'play' while you're on tape source.
Or just get one of these!
And no Im not even consider one of those bastardy aux to cassette adapters.
Nevermind then
Or just get an FM-transmitter

I dont plan on upgrading to a challenger come next year however. Probably will get a commuter vehicle...or an F150 because snow
When I give my car the beans on the highway (LX470), there is this rushing wind noise/whoosh/induction (?) sound coming from the back right area. Is that just a normal thing like a fuel pump or is that a genuine concern? Vehicle was recently serviced a few months ago and it cost a few grand to fix everything so I would be surprised if something was broken. Also my other car I've noticed often has water droplets on the door jamb on the back left but the back right is dry after a rainy day. Is this just a bad weather seal or something? Also unrelated but I found the sweet road that Matt Farah goes down in this video. Even though my cars are all shit to drive the view was quite nice if you keep going past the pavement like he does in the van.

I've seen more than a dozen various Challengers around my parts driving in heavy snow with little issue.
You got a link to this solder mod? Also, how does it improve sound quality other than a better quality input, or is that just it?
Here's how it works on 73-87 AC Delco radios; http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=447435 This radio has an off board amp and, rather than wiring into the tape deck, normally you wire a sitchable aux into the amp. Unfortunately, the only audio improvement is by better quality input and getting rid of signal issues your radio would normally have. It might be your best bet, unless you find an aftermarket you like. It amazes me how heavy vehicles are lately. My pickup weighed 4500lbs stock, it's maybe 4600 with all I have added.

Any vehicle with proper snow tires will be able to get from point A to B fine. Its more for helping friends in the snow. The bed and towing is what's important
It amazes me how heavy vehicles are lately. My pickup weighed 4500lbs stock, it's maybe 4600 with all I have added.
2005 LX470 5600lbs without any cargo or people in it.

At least with a 150 in theory you have 4x4 which makes a massive difference in making it workable. Yes tires make a difference, but there is no making a RWD only vehicle work in the snow and mud.

This last storm in NC, my Impreza on all seasons would go where FWD/RWD on snows couldn't because of deep snow.
used up like $30 worth of acetylene today the big glops are mostly where I was filling up holes cause I made it out of scrap, but there are spots that are bad because I was brazing thin steel to thick steel and the thin steel got overheated. this is gonna get heat wrapped anyway and more braze is stronger braze so idgaf. it's a leg burner as is so it needs it. [editline]30th January 2016[/editline] also yes that ubolt exhaust bracket is totally safe and not gonna impale me the second I lay the bike down. now just to fix the brakes, they're pretty toast
Any reason not to route the exhaust down under the frame under the sprocket or something?
burning your leg keeps are alert to other traffic
ground clearance and this is less complicated to do the bends for. better airflow too since this is just 2 bends instead of about 6 or 7 it doesn't actually get that hot because it's a relatively large chamber (expanding gasses cool down, think of a co2 airgun and how cold that barrel gets, or an extreme example is holding a computer duster can upside down and spraying it) but it gets warm enough to be vaguely uncomfortable. [editline]31st January 2016[/editline] oh and routing it under the pedals means I need to have either a really tiny stinger with multiple bends to clear the pedals and the tire at the rear or to have it exit right under me and choke me out at stops [editline]31st January 2016[/editline] as is I've got 180 degrees worth of mandrel bends and if I were to route down there would be about 540 degrees worth of bends and they wouldn't be mandrels because I don't have a bunch of already made mandrel bends laying around and don't have a mandrel bending machine [editline]31st January 2016[/editline] but it's probably mostly because I like scrambler pipes [editline]31st January 2016[/editline] there's a pinhole somewhere near the baffle but I'm not going to fix it because a. heating up a pipe that has oil in it is sketchy as hell and b. I ran out of acetylene right as I finished attaching that muffler to the stinger. I might slop some jb weld in there I guess
Whenever I drive in the snow I always see lots of 4x4s in the ditch because they drive like they're invincible.
Whenever I drive in the snow I always see lots of 4x4s in the ditch because they drive like they're invincible.
yeah they're always like "4 wheel drive bro I can go as fast as I want" but forget we all have 4 wheel brakes and usually don't even buy snow tires.
Simply epic. After days of cleaning and bad weather, I finally got the valve cover back on the DSM with the new gasket. Now I need to take it back off because there's a bunch of hairline cracks in the cover that opened up when i torqued it down.
yeah they're always like "4 wheel drive bro I can go as fast as I want" but forget we all have 4 wheel brakes and usually don't even buy snow tires.
Yeah, the scariest thing in the winter is getting over confident. I did that last weekend, drove back and forth on a stretch of road and eventually went so fast I lost pretty much all grip and was headed straight for the ditch. Luckily I managed to get grip again, but I was definitely humble after that one.
