If you absolutely must put Cragars on it, keep it conservative. Don't put their big wheels for low profile tires on it. But what's on it now are the right wheels for the car.
14x7s is what he is shooting for, I think? I dunno if that is right or not, he only told me the size once. Sounds right, though. Nothing ridiculous.
14x7s are fine. I was afraid he was shooting for a resto-mod style. For reference here's a Camaro with 14s:

Neh. He's pretty big on keeping things close to stock, for the most part. Painting my car in something that was originally a color no Mopar manufactures offered at the time was enough of a hurdle for him, no matter how well it came out. :v:
A friend of ours had them on his wife's duster, I think that's what sold him on the idea. It was sharp as hell.

These are my favorite AmRacing wheels. I don't think I've ever actually seen them mounted on a car but I think they would look really cool on just about anything.
I have a thing I do... its like how girls get with "bad boys" thinking they can change them as a project of some sort, well in my case I get abused vehicles and otherwise hunks of shit and refurbish them as a project. The difference? The vehicles actually change :v:
Yeah, I have the same thing. But with cars it's better, because people are temporary and material things are forever :p

If you lower it, Billet Specialty Street Lite's look great! I've gotta get a matching pair for the rear, (other set is 15x10 3.5 backspacing) but it gives you an idea of the styles.
Alternatively, I've always loved steelies and dog dishes. Hated the look of rallyes on my car.

The body is shaped like a coke bottle and the thin rear wheels does it no justice leaving that huge gap in the ass. I've got 275 ET streets shoved in there now and it really fills it out
my favorite wheels are aeros, fans, and plain black steelies
Hey guys i really need some help.
My friend found a transmission for the bus, but we cant figure out what it is, and we need to know what it is in order to find the right bellhousing to fit it on the 460. I got a picture of the numbers on the case, but alas, my google-fu is not strong enough to find out what it is.

We opened it up, and it is a 4 speed, and one of my friends says it probably came out of a ford grain truck or something. I can say that it is definately not a T18 or T19, because i know what those look like.
If anyone can help me figure out what it is, id be really grateful.
can you post a pic of the whole thing? I don't have those codes memorized but I can probably recognise it if it's a ford truck trans
Late 70s Ford F600 apparently?

"1979"
"OEM #: C95711P"
"This item is from a FORD F600."
Page says NP435
Fits with your friend's "ford grain truck or something"
is it a manual? if so and it did in fact come out of a ford truck I'd bet money on an np435
Oh shit yeah thats it.
Thanks, fuckin love you guys.
I found this Which doesn't really have a lot of info, and this which suggests it could also be called a NP435. More info on the NP435
np435s are like the easiest transmissions to work on ever

Yeah no shit. I looked around inside, and ive built more complicated things out of legos.
...now to find a 351/400 bellhousing, the right flywheel, and a clutch.
I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this so I'll put it here:

The socket wrench thing that I've been using feels like it's getting kind of loose or something and I've never noticed this black ring until after I started torquing on this one bolt pretty damn hard. I swear it's coming out farther and farther. Have I simultaneously Bean unscrewing the socket wrench mechanism at the same time that I've been unscrewing the bolt? Note I'm using voice to text on mobile and I'm not terribly good with tool terms so I apologize for the crappy grammar.
Still haven't gotten the car yet, dude hasn't had time to get me the title; should get it tomorrow hopefully. Been doing some more research, apparently another reason the car might not be starting is because the timing belt is broken/snapped. In which case, I'll probably have to rebuild the motor, and that's something I really don't want to do lol. I hope it's the starter...
Did you give him the money yet?

like I don't even touch transmissions usually but an np435 I have no qualms about completely disassembling and reassembling without even using a guide or an exploded view. the only thing that could possibly be simpler is a 2 speed chain drive gearbox

I have like 10 ratchets like that. none have ever completely fallen apart. I wouldn't worry about it. in the off chance it does fall apart there are only like 3 parts inside and it's super easy to reassemble. I've rebuilt a ton of old ratchets and it's literally a 15 minute job including removing rust and replacing springs and if applicable bearings.
Did you give him the money yet?
Yeah, couple days ago. Not worried about him being shady or anything, he's my mom's coworker and has been for years. He's just strange lol
I have a question for those of you with 20~ year old cars, particularly unibodies with lots of interior plastics. When you drive up or down a driveway, does your interior fill with the sound of crackling from when all the interior pieces unstick/rub against eachother as the body flexes? It happens to me everytime I pull out of the driveway and it drives me insane.

Both my cars do this but my Integra has a odd pop in the rear I've been fighting for years, I almost think it's my rear bumper now. The Civic is a creaky flimsy piece of shit in comparison, you can feel the chassis flex if you know what to pay attention to but that's a 26 year old 185k mile 2060lbs car lol. I really want to put a x bar in the back but it would ruin 100% of the cargo space :v:
Fill with noise though, no. Just a little bit of noise most people would probably blame on shocks of which in my Civic's case are also bad because I paid $40 for 4. Although cars here don't rust at all and Honda makes a pretty decent chassis so more noise might be pretty standard.
my old metro turbo was a symphony of creaks and groans.
I miss that little thing. I should have replaced the engine instead of selling it when it blew. was dangerous as hell though, thanks to more boost it was keeping up with v8 mustangs but I never touched the stock brakes or suspension and it would catch air over speed bumps because it was so light. it was a bit like driving a shopping cart with a predator 420 in it
150 bucks?
I'd wish my country had those prices on used cars, shit.
funny how cars are cheap here too, you can buy a small 20 year old car for few hundred € or less

sounds like you need a roll cage to stiffen things up.

Those would look cool on 80s GM sports cars like the Camaro/Firebird/Corvette.
What are your opinions on sandblasting a chassis versus a chemical bath?

I know at least a dozen of my Hot Wheels cars have these wheels on them.
