What are your opinions on sandblasting a chassis versus a chemical bath?
You mean chemical stripping?
Well if done right, then the latter does less harm to the body while still removing old paint and rust.
If done right it also gets into cavities, but that can also be bad if you don't give them a quick layer of primer and undercoating afterwards to protect against new rust.
Apart from Hyundai Galloper (yr 2000) being dead slow and fucking heavy, is there anything that I need to know before getting one? maybe common problems or production line problems? general weak spots?
They like to rust more than average, but I doubt Israel is considered a rust belt for cars so probably not a big issue.
I have a question for those of you with 20~ year old cars, particularly unibodies with lots of interior plastics. When you drive up or down a driveway, does your interior fill with the sound of crackling from when all the interior pieces unstick/rub against eachother as the body flexes? It happens to me everytime I pull out of the driveway and it drives me insane.
My 95 Accord only within the last few months has started to make noises, seemingly random clunks, but I can't for the life of me find anything loose. So I'm starting to suspect the spring bushings are going and causing the sounds. I also had a very strange clunk when braking in reverse going 5 or more, it's since went away but it has me worried.
Other then that it's pretty solid.

Nearly all (in my experience) Hyundai have preoblems over time with their electrical connectors. The plastic can't handle the heat in the engine bay (and cabin ion hot days in hotter climates) and eventually just collapse.
All but the newest Hyundai I've run into have the problem. 1999 style 2.0 cyl engines also can't handle an overheat what so ever and like to blow head gaskets and warp heads is the overheat was bad or to many times.
The starter in my Civic crapped out today. A new one typically goes for like $70 or so right? :suicide:

Usually around that. Depends on where you look, how old the car is and the model. a 95 Civic starter is differently priced then an accord starter of the same year, for the most part.
What year is the car? Engine? Auto or manual?
Well, got the car in my garage finally. Checked the timing belt, it was still on there and doesn't seem to be badly damaged or cracked. Huge relief, I thought I was going to have to replace the engine head. Still have quite a bit of work to do though, such as replacing the starter, the door pull handle, and a whole lot of minor stuff. Can't really complain though, especially since this car only cost me 100 bucks (plus another 110 for towing) :v:

Tried push-starting it?
Tried push-starting it?
That I haven't. I'd rather not lol, this car is pretty heavy, me and the tow truck guy had a lot of trouble pushing it like 10 feet :v:

It's just I'd prefer to know whenever the engine's actually starting or not before doing anything worthwhile to a car as a whole.
It's just I'd prefer to know whenever the engine's actually starting or not before doing anything worthwhile to a car as a whole.
True. I'm just being a bit careless because if worst comes to worst, I can just part the car out and make a decent profit.

Something like that, yeah. Just smack it around with a long jack handle or a hammer in the meanwhile.
That moment when you're taking the country roads to a town and you forgot that the local rally race happened earlier and you accidentally join a whole group of rally cars headed back to town and people somehow think you're part of the group because you're in an MR2. Oops. I got just as many looks and reactions as the rally cars :v:
We're talking fully rally modded imprezas and lancers and shit. It was a good accident.

They look exactly like the autosculpt wheels in NFS:Carbon
Welp. Got rear ended today in rush hour traffic. Joy.
No damage to the car beyond a few scratches and I'm perfectly safe. So I now have an excuse to spend my weekend off doing some touch ups and getting my car ready to sell. I think I've decided on looking for a Tacoma. I've asked three separate customers who have had nothing but great things to say about them. My customer today said his last 02 had 306k miles and never had a single powertrain repair, never replaced a single water pump or timing belt.
What year you shooting for?
I wanted a Taco until I started looking up prices for them. They hold their value too well, in my opinion. Even the older ones are still high as hell. The Toyota badge makes vehicles cost a bit more than they're actually worth most of the time, in my experience. They're good trucks no doubt, probably some of the best available. However, the price point they're usually put at seems hard to justify to myself. That's why I decided to nab my Xterra instead. Same thing happens with 4runners and Land Cruisers especially.
Turned out pretty well for me when we were selling my rav4, though, so I'm a hypocrite. :v:
I think Tacomas are #1 in resale value on KBB. They're monster expensive.
My dad just traded in his 03 F150 for an 07 Tundra, its pretty nice.

Do you actually have a radio for it?
I know a few people here in town who show off their whips and sticks but don't even have it wired in.

Rock auto lists starters for your civic ranging between 64 to 92
O'Reilly's list its cheapest at $171.99
Rock auto is your best bet.
Car meets are fun! They're trying to convince me to wrap my car to look like the MACH 5 from Speed Racer.

Yes, it's just a cobra 75. I wanted something I could easily take out so it doesn't get stolen when I have the top and doors off.
Why is the price of a decent used diesel truck so high still... I just want a pre-DEF requirement truck and I can't find one for less than $20,000 private or $30,000 from a dealer.
Advisory: Wheel hop in a 500hp truck without traction bars kills driveshafts...
[thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpstwqzjtap.jpeg[/thumb]
Now I'm debating whether I should 6 speed swap the truck now so I only have to shorten it once, but that'll be $3500 just for the trans and clutch, not including a new shaft...

What kinda truck are you looking for? Cummins, duramax, or powerstroke?
[editline]26th August 2016[/editline]
At least in Alberta people pay a premium for select examples of pre-def trucks, and its only going to go up.
Like 06/07 LBZ duramax's are going to be the new second gen dodge (94-01). My LBZ has 237k km and is 10 years old and I can get 23k all day long for it

I have AAA for that. free towing up to 100 miles is pretty rad when you buy a total roadkill car. just make up a story about why it's not going. tell them it just won't start. they'll say no if you tell them you bought beater turd that doesn't run.
free cab too, next time you get shitfaced just pull some spark plug boots off and tell them it's running like shit
