my old 182, was a complete bastard child and I wish I never bought it and looked around for a better one, but it was very fun

Best choice of colour! I never liked the 182 wheels though, and yeah I know they're from a 1.2 I had an accident in it back in 2014 in the back of a lorry and replaced the front end. I never got round to upgrading the headlights though I quite like it looking plain

They're not really worth changing to the 172/182 headlights, you can't really buy them on ebay because it has some fragile piece in it which WILL break (or so I'm told) in shipping, plus its like £150 for no change at all.
Also yellow the best RS colour, but the yellow 182's are so damn rare.
Was thinking of going back to a 182, but I'd rather save up for an RX7 project in the future.
lmao so the shop wants $600 to replace the fans (if the fans are even the issue, and not a temp gauge or fuse or relay or something else) and $1500 for a new transmission seal. I paid $2000 for the damn thing in 09. At that price point I might as well just buy a crown vic interceptor
Atta boy
Well...there comes a moment in every man's life for there first accident I guess.
It's like 70 here in February, last year it was like -15 here last year. So of course, I'm just cruising around on back roads, doing about 35, turn was a bit sharper then I thought. Hit a patch of gravel, roads were a bit wet and shitty tires

Sorry if picture is big, mobile phone.
This was my first accident:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ECjoQnM.jpg[/t]
I was stupid and drove into a pole, I am still getting pissed about it.
Bumper and the fender got fucked
[t]http://i.imgur.com/sKVK57i.jpg[/t]
fuck you you god damn pole
Everyone on the road was getting on my nerves today.
I'm pulling out of my parking spot at school and while looping around the lot (very narrow U shaped one way road with spots on the sides), some prick in a (you'd never guess it) BMW coupe reverses out of their spot while I'm driving towards them and almost cause me to rear end them.
Then I was going straight at a 4 way intersection and when the light turned green I started going but I guess the person facing me couldn't wait 3 seconds to turn left so they go for it in their giant black suburban (I'm guessing early 40s soccer mom) and I nearly run into them.
And then 30 seconds later I turn onto another road, where bearing left puts you on a parkway and bearing right puts you on some backroads. There is a yield sign coming from the right fork so that people coming towards me from that back road have to yield to me getting on the parkway.
I'm guessing this escaped the mind of the idiot who ran the yield sign and nearly drove into me. And then -this is the part that gets me- this bitch that just nearly crashed into me has the audacity to stop, stare at me with a mean look and honk her fucking horn...at me. Of course she was pretty old, probably 70+, but that didn't stop me from rolling down my window and yelling "What the fuck is your problem?". I never really had any experiences with old people being shitty drivers except on this occasion.
And of course I honked at and flipped off the suburban driver from earlier when that happened so I wasn't already in a good mood.
I really was not in a good mood all day. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, late to school, fucking pouring rain all day, got bird shit all over my hand since I didn't see it was on my car. Had to park far away from class and walk in the rain because the main lot was full from underclassmen parking in it when they aren't supposed to ever.
Sorry, needed to vent.

I totally would too, if I didn't graduate in 3 months. At this point I think I'm just gonna top off the ATF and drive it until it dies, or the weather gets nice enough to take the Miata out.
Also for my first new car I've been heavily looking at a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but I don't like any of the cars at the dealerships. Is it possible to 'custom' order a car at a dealership?

I live about half hour from Castle Combe so at the French Car shows i see many liquid yellows, Alien green on the 200's is pretty cool!
RX7 eh? Much nicer looking than the rx8 in my opinion so good choice!

Here's a crash image (went up the back of a co-op lorry into the crash bar thing at 30-40mph on the main road)
Then the next pic is a couple weeks later :)
Then obviously the pics further up are how it is now

Any of you guys here had your cars remapped? I'm considering it for my Fiesta 1.0 turbo. An extra 30 or so BHP and it kicks the torque up to around 200 ft lbs. That's with a map designed for stock parts. I've got a K&N panel filter on the way as well, and I've been considering a cat-back Milltek but I'm not sure if it's worth the money. There aren't any used ones about either since my car hasn't been around long enough for them to be readily available.
I've got a clio specific one called a "98 ron map" as mine is n/a it barely did any gains, but it did improve cold idle, improve the torque curve/power at low revs and increase rev range +500rpm
For 1L turbo thats a lot of torque 200ft (is it nm or ft?), have a look to see if it does reduce lifespan of the engine though just in case. Otherwise that sounds like a great power jump for what i'm assuming will be £275 ish for the map
- just checked , 180nm standard damn

Last person I knew who had their fiesta remapped...
"It'll be ok, I'll just change the oil more regularly"
Sure thing
... It was trashed within 3 months and a ~£1300 repair bill

survived with no engine damage at all? Lucky, those engines are so crammed in there it doesnt take much of an impact for the engine to come in contact with the front of the car

In most cases N/A tunes don't do much but make you run premium fuel. I'd only really want to remap a car with boost.

the engines in that car are notorious for having a "kick" at 5k, that map gets rid of it and makes power delivery a bit better at lower than 5k
When I first got my learners permit I put the family car through the back of the carport.
Dammit I miss that Ford Focus, part of the reason I want another one.
my grandma is responsible for my love affair with geo metros
My first crash was on purpose, but I guess that doesn't count because it was a beater. Second crash was a hit and run, where I ended up chasing after the guy because my Forester was considerably faster than his 80s series landcruiser and he was too drunk to shift.
My Ford focus put up with a lot, while I drove it through fence the attrition my parents subjected it too was way above and beyond.
Not a single quarter was withought a scratch or dent and most of it having been done after I was given the car.It got to the point where I left it low on gas so they wouldnt borrow it.
my first wreck was an offroad rollover in a $100 beater honda that was unregistered and probably stolen and as far as I know is still where I left it. probably doesn't count
My first and only wreck was a T-bone collision in my old Chevy Malibu. Some guy ran a red light doing 45 in a 35 and decided not to brake. Ironically, was on the way with my mom my senior year in high school to get a rental car to drive to Myrtle Beach to visit my grandparents when it happened.
We made the drive down there that day; me with two bruised ribs, her with a torn and separated rotater cuff. 0/10, would not recommend. I also learned Lortab really, really sucks that go-round, too.
I think I posted pictures before in a different thread, but I can throw them up if anyone wants to see. The crash had enough force to actually break my driver's seat off its mounts, broke my emergency brake pedal, and broke the right rear brake calliper off of the rotor on the other side from where he hit us, in addition to obviously rekking the frame and destroying the front-end suspension.

the engines really are good, they pull well and there is room for more power out of them since the Zetec S Red/Black come with 145hp standard compared to my 125. And mine is more powerful than the 100hp bottom of the range 1.0 turbo. That's the reason I'm considering the map.

the guys I'm looking at provide a warranty for their map, so if anything goes bang as a result of the map within a year they'll pay. my car is out of the Ford warranty this year anyway so if the engine went bang I'd be fucked anyway v:v:v

that's a hell of a deal. I've been in the market for a mack rw613 and they're like 10 grand minimum for a beater

I smashed the trailer hitch on my Saab into my dad's shed in the garage shortly after I got it. Had been driving his auto Opel/Buick, got in the Saab and turned the key, backed right into the shed.
