Is this thread car-only? I could use some pointers for getting an old KW 600R going again.
If it's got an engine in it that requires something to go bang, I think for the most part we're okay with talking about it here. I know I've asked questions about my KingQuads here in the past.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/0CuIWVT.jpg[/t] Made some good progress today! Removed the AC compressor, flywheel, clutch, transmission, and T-VIS/intake from the engine and finally got it on the engine stand! We had to attach the stand, lift it up with the crane, and then make some ramps (you can see them in the picture) with some wood. Took us a while, but we got it inside! I can't wait to start tearing the rest of the motor down, but oh god where do I even begin?
Here's the new child.. not bad. It makes a ton of noise, loud blowoff, loud exhaust (and backrap), loud turbo spool.. it's wild. Can't get power to the front wheels, though. As soon as it hits boost in 1st gear it just spins. I told them I want to drive it for a month or so then I'll probably let it pass on because by then it will be NSX season. For now, however, it'll probably get a new hood because a smashed up one looks crummy. No core support damage, though!
A guy I work with has one. Its always broken. :v:
hey guys i'm looking to buy my first car, price range is $1500 unregistered/registered, manual. what are some good cars too look out for?

What are you going to use it for?
driving to uni, maybe the occasion trip.
As boring as it sounds, maybe a corolla or something. Fairly cheap and easy to get parts for. Hell, we found a decent one that was supercharged for $2000, so something less would be even cheaper.
Fuck yes! I paid the insane tax on the Supra today. So hopefully it'll be road ready in a couple of weeks.
driving to uni, maybe the occasion trip.
Then you'll need a Miata or an M4 on weekends you could take it to the track

car for sale on CL with no plates, says they were stolen. fishy? rest of the ad looks okay
car for sale on CL with no plates, says they were stolen. fishy? rest of the ad looks okay
Does he have the registration/insurance and keys? Then not really. Plates being stolen is a thing. Just make sure they reported them as stolen
car for sale on CL with no plates, says they were stolen. fishy? rest of the ad looks okay
As long as it has a legit title in hand in the name of the owner that's ready to sign it over and complete the proper paperwork, I wouldn't worry about it. Plates aren't cheap though, here in Oregon it's like $4 to transfer valid plates from a current valid vehicle but if you go the new plate route it's like $350.
Yeah, Tesla drivers need not apply!
Those and Priuses (Prii? Whatever the plural is) don't count as cars, bikes, or automobiles. You know that.

Maine charges a bit more because of having two. In this state, you are supposed to take your plates off and turn them into the DMV before you sell your vehicle.
I wonder if anyone has made a rotating long block coffee table that rotates....In theory you cam slip in the cams hole and power it from the cam area.... I wonder how big of a RC motor you would need with some nice gear reduction..... I also wonder if the pistons sliding and the main bearings would make any horrific noises after a few months....
My diesels power steering is leaking a bit more than it has been, going to have to replace all 3 lines for about $50. Pump itself, reservoir, and hydroboost seem to be good though.

Just to wait for another 3 months to pass to put more fluid into it. I might need to repair those seals but, I don't concern my self with science, I observe redneck science. Which is run it until you break it and do whatever works.

The system uses real power steering fluid. If I actually let it run dry, it can cause brake issues. I can't tell hot bad it truly is leaking, just where. The hoses, inner fender, shocks, frame, etc. have been covered in fluid of various sorts over the years. It needs a deep clean bad. If I had money, I'd do a lot more work on the truck. As it is, I can barely afford to get to work at times.
Got a letter from Audi Netherlands about the recall on EA189 diesel engines today, apparently they weren't allowed to directly contact customers up until now and if I could kindly make an appointment with the dealer :v: Unless the Dutch government somehow makes it mandatory I'll pass, especially since I'm not even running the factory software anymore, which I can flash back in 5 minutes if they do change it

I've also herd that ATF is thinner plus has seal conditioner in it already. But I know for sure eurocrap HATES anything but CHF 11-S or w.e
My parents picked this up a couple days ago. New XC90 T6 AWD, R-Design, with a Polestar chip in it too. Got a good deal on it because it was the GMs demo car. My dad is replacing his 2007 LTZ Suburban, you can see it in the drive way, can also see a bit of my mom's 2008 TT in the garage. Can't wait to drive it when I head home in a week.
