I can pretty much guarantee the Chinese computes won't work in subzero weather. I was considering them for a thing we were going to do at work for installation in Utah and those things shut down at ~0* Fahrenheit.

I was furious because they're so ludicrously expensive but they demanded a prebuilt unit rather than anything custom made. I would have just used a Rspberry Pi 2 with a very light heating element.

That J-swap thread has been a good read unfolding for a while now. Seems viable, since NSX powerplants are pretty pricey if you manage to toast one beyond repair. This guy engineer'd brackets and all sorts of cool stuff to make it basically bolt in!

Engine is in, headers are in, transmission is in (fuck you transmission, neverending supply of tranny fluid), i actually didnt have to make a single dent in the headers! Something is hung up because the engine isnt sitting properly so i have to tackle the tomorrow.

It's an N/A Targa 5spd with a turbo swap, rough paint/body work, gross painted interior, rough upholstery, etc.

Is that a crap price? I'm trying to figure out why it only got 1 bid. Even clean N/As with stock engine go for like 20k. A factory turbo is 35k+ all day with the 5spd.

It's rough in appearance, but clean title.. I feel like it should've gotten more bids. Interesting.

I feel like if you scooped up an RHD Supra MKIV in Canadia these days the price would sky rocket the day it becomes legal to import into the US. Look at R32 GTRs.. US legal, 20k. Can legal, 12k. Or so it seems.

Something along those lines was my plan for the Rpi2's. You just need to make sure you get something that's got a proper thermostat in it, or make a temperature regulator circuit yourself. You just need to get it reasonably above freezing, after all.

If I wanted to buy a rusted through body-only duster, I'd have no problems. Finding some that are remotely capable of being restored for a reasonable price on the other hand... impossible.

I paid $9500 for mine I think, redone interior, new tires, largely rust free, but the engine had a bad hole. I cant find many similar ones for sale.

I'm really fortunate to have the facility and tools available to me, a couple times my dad complains about it being old and cramped and I put him in his place. We're planning on expanding to a 120x40 sometime this year if all goes good.

The D16A1 DOHC ZC is pretty great and the later year blacktop is really good actually. 130hp out of a 1.6 from the early 80's. That's the basically the same as the CA18ET 1.8 single cam turbos from Nissan of the same years. The transmissions are geared just about perfect for the motor too.

They're highly underrated cars and back in the day they did extremely well in most of the racing series they entered. Comptech did great with them but I cannot find any pictures even and google is failing me hard.

Hmm. Apparently it needs brakes, although if it just needs new rotors or something more indepth, I have no idea.

Surprisingly, I replaced the battery in my fob after its been dead for 2+ years and it worked immediately. Didnt have to reprogram it at all.
