in the uk, without any video proof they would all (except probably the first dude) get fucked over by insurance for not paying attention to the car in front and keeping an adequate braking distance. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] rear end collisions are almost always seen as the person behinds fault without any proof otherwise [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] oh nvm didnt see that all of them except the evo were stationary, thought they all fucked up
Where I am they all, minus the front one, would receive a ticket for following too close.
The yellow one was maybe a little close, but the others had lots of room, evo just failed to stop.
https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/5494955261.html Right, so no that the weather is going to stay nice, I've resumed my search for a cheap car to learn how to drive manual with. Anyone have experience with mid 80's Celicas?
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/5477143521.html The price of this 280z seems very appealing to me despite the exterior condition. If it turns out the interior is above average, I might actually consider it.. [editline]poop[/editline] Nvm, it's sold. :c
build your rotisserie in advance if you plan on driving it a while
really tight fit. Once I fully get it working, I'll tidy up. [t]http://puu.sh/nNtQu.jpg[/t]
So there was a 5 car crash at a local car cruise tonight, followed by two more after that. Nearly went on it as well. Honestly people like this ruin it for everyone, can bet that cops are going to be hunting any jap cars in Perth now
"How many ricers does it take to stop at a stoplight?"
The yellow one was maybe a little close, but the others had lots of room, evo just failed to stop.
If they had plenty of room they would not be up the ass to the vehicle in front of them. Its just the way it works. Insurance can fight it out over who pays out for the damages
I tried fitting my freakishly tall friend in the backseat. He's 205cm (6 foot 9 inches) tall. You'll need one of those audi tt warning stickers [t]http://www.cars.com/crp/vp/images/08audi_tt/warning_JW.jpg[/t]
If they had plenty of room they would not be up the ass to the vehicle in front of them. Its just the way it works. Insurance can fight it out over who pays out for the damages
So everyone should stop with a car's length between them and the car in front? Take a look at the video. The first cars have loads of time and space to see the cars ahead of them braking and stopping, it's likely that the evo was just going too fast, smashed into the Skyline and pushed the other cars forward.
So everyone should stop with a car's length between them and the car in front?
Like I said, where I am, they'd be getting tickets. That was not a high-speed impact. Getting rear-ended at low speed should not involve 5 vehicles. Its not like they were going 70 and got hit.
https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/5494955261.html Right, so no that the weather is going to stay nice, I've resumed my search for a cheap car to learn how to drive manual with. Anyone have experience with mid 80's Celicas?
I've had mine since mid 2012 as a first car that I bought for $2500. It's been great until recently with ware items finally going out at 188k miles (fuel pump, fuel filter, water pump, harmonic balancer), before that I had a leaking power steering pump that also caused my alternator to go. 'Vert models started out as GT-S notchbacks and got converted by a Californian company who made about 4,000 convertibles. If you do want to buy one, check the rear quarters and under the spare tire for rust. Also pop the hood, rev the engine up to ~1.5-1.9k and listen to the valve cover for a "rattling marble" sound, which means that the top chain tensioner has broken in a spot and is an expensive fix if you take it to a shop. OEM body parts are also becoming difficult to find in junkyards, at least around here, and many of the parts have become discontinued through the dealer. Even with all the negatives of parts becoming difficult to find, they're fun cars and I'll probably buy a second one as a toy. They're not big, they're not fast, but they do handle very well and I plan on never selling mine. They're also a great car to learn manual in with the torque from the 22re helping you off the line, long shifter throws, and a very noticeable in-gear feeling, but reverse does not have synchros so make sure you're completely stopped before you shift into reverse, sometimes needing to double clutch, or you will grind the gears, which I've done multiple times. Picture of mine, for reference. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21270004/Pic%27s%20%28clean%29/Cars/celica/Resized/2015-09-09%2017.57.37.jpg[/t]
I'd probably buy a celica before I bought a celica supra again. :v:
I've heard of that crash 3 times now, two of those being from /r/cars
[t]http://imgur.com/lqTM8yu.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/c6prPAW.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgur.com/DYVOtqx.jpg[/t] Well, the salt has finally washed away - even though we're now in March and temperatures have been steadily climbing since somewhere in February - so it was time to take the E28 out for a drive. Still has some work to do, you can see the damage to the front end very clearly in the first picture (was there long before we got it, don't worry). Something fucked up the supports for the front bumper and it's lifted to one side, and probably that same thing caused the damages below it. We'll do our best to fix that. In other news, for everyone who loves a bit of classic six cylinder singing, we recorded some accelerations - all from 2nd gear onwards. I'm still practicing on those good old fast 2nd-3rd upshifts :v:
So I am looking to get a decent used car for under 6,000 within the next year, that won't shit out on me. I know it's a vague ask, but what are any of your recommendations? Any advice in general is very much welcomed.
I've heard of that crash 3 times now, two of those being from /r/cars
I actually saw it on facebook [editline]20th March 2016[/editline]
What's wrong with them? They're second on my list for my next car
Same issues, but they're even less common. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] One the main aftermarket shops for them closed down like two years ago.
Same issues, but they're even less common. One the main aftermarket shops for them closed down like two years ago.
You can't really find good 14" tires for these cars anymore either, almost being forced into larger wheels for a better selection. Sites like Raptor Racing and Techno Toy Tuning still support these cars to an extent.

I was about to say YESYESYESYESYES untill I saw. "4 cyclinders" NEVER WOULD I FUCKING OWN A BMW THAT HAS LESS THAN 6.
Went to the Denver Auto Show again today. Some manufacturers had cars to drive there, I drove, in order: 2016 Mazda Miata (automatic, so could have been better, but still nice to drive again) 2016 Ford Edge (had to drive one to get to) 2016 Ford Mustang V6 (nice car, sport mode makes it sound nice and makes the steering wheel more responsive) 2016 Dodge Challenger HEMI (that was so friggin awesome to drive. The power, the noise, flooring and hearing it echo off the skyscrapers around me) 2016 Dodge Dart GT (still sucks) 2016 Fiat 500 Abarth (fun drive, surprisingly roomy inside, and the exhaust sounds amazing)

Due to being slow/stopped, the law allows you to be closer to the car in front (IE several states only have a three second law. When traveling slow, the gap is very small.) Crashes like this happen somewhat often, even with following distance laws.
I was about to say YESYESYESYESYES untill I saw. "4 cyclinders" NEVER WOULD I FUCKING OWN A BMW THAT HAS LESS THAN 6.
Having a six cylinder engine is a big plus. But BMW's four cylinder engines are still made by BMW and they know how to make engines be good. And the rest of the car is also still a BMW. And if you crave a six that bad, do an engine swap ;)
