My dad sent me pictures of this old Detroit V16 sitting at his work. [t]http://i.imgur.com/6TzUGlj.jpg[/t] Twin turbo, twin supercharged V16 2-stroke. Yeah baby.
I should be fine to swap that into my Cavalier right?
I should be fine to swap that into my Cavalier right?
I think it'd be sweat to put that on some train tracks. Personal train to hall ass. Or mid engine truck.
I was thinking of in the middle of a 193x-194x Ford F6 or similar 2-ton.
Reminds me, I need new front fenders and rear bumper for my 2002 A4 Fenders are amazingly the only thing rusty on and under it, and the bumper has a tow hitch crack/hole after PO's wife trying to reverse it in the parking lot of a hardware store. Is the Dual exhaust tip bumper exclusive to the V8 A4 or were it also to 1.8T?
I have an 03 A4 1.8t and I have the dual exhaust bumper (and dual exhausts) [editline]25th March 2016[/editline] also there's a v8 a4? I thought it was only v6 an turbo i4 i'm missing out  edit part two electric boogaloo actually read it's the s4 makes sense nvm
Just the headunit to speakers. It's a sony Xplod and the display dims under high volume sound as well.
Check voltage across the yellow and black wire at the head unit while it's playing at high volume. See if it stays solid at system voltage, or if it dips down. If it's staying solid the internals on the unit are just goin out. If it dips investigate the fuse/ground/harness connections for issues.

I enjoy the C5/B5 and some B7's. Everything else is just like "bleh, its all the same engine real no improvements just all the same shit." Just do me a favor guys, never install the towing hitch dilly and for the love of god install a trans cooler. Run VCDS / your fav doogle app and look at your trans temps. You will be amazed on how hot that shit gets while under 62mph and hooning. My new law with trans temps are anything between 160 and 180 is "operating" anything past 210 is ohfuckinghell. But remember you MUST keep your stock trans fluid cooler that built into the radiator, you can not beat the efficiency of that water to oil system just piggy off the back of that into a normal oil cooler to drop it down further and your golden.

So I sold one of my trucks, the curse strikes hard and I can no longer bear having less than 4 vehicles So I'm looking at this tomorrow http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/red-deer/1998-jeep-cherokee-sport-long-arm-locked-and-totally-built/1147512461?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true [thumb]http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODAwWDUzMw==/z/U3cAAOSwZQxW5kN1/$_27.JPG[/thumb] You cant build it for what hes selling for
Would it be much hassle to fit it in the back of my Beetle?
I think a beetle would just tip up with that in the back of it
It would tear straight through the Beetle's sheet metal without even noticing it.
I don't know about the 16v71 but a 12v71 weighs around 3300 pounds so yeah just tear right through [editline]26th March 2016[/editline] oh yeah 4789 according to http://www.barringtondieselclub.co.za/detroit/16v71-detroit-diesel.html
It would tear straight through the Beetle's sheet metal without even noticing it.
Beetles dont have motor mounts, 2 big transmission bolts hold the engine on.
Beetles dont have motor mounts, 2 big transmission bolts hold the engine on.
And its actually pretty stiff back there. Way more stiff than I would have imagined. It's all built into the rear suspension. Pretty well built.
Right, its 4. I just remember 2, sorry

And I sorta like the "boring middle-management" look, I'm the opposite of a "PLZ LOOK AT ME!! ricer, so boring is OK as long as it doesn't look wonky. Also i4 TDi and stationcar/avant.
Jesus fucking christ, a week after that 5 car pileup on a cruise...there's been a 6 car pileup on a cruise, both in West Aus! Noble for them to be pushing so hard!". But yeah, cruises have small appeal to me for these reasons. All it takes are 1 or 2 bad drivers and then you have a situation on your hands, not to mention usually legal trouble.
Beetles dont have motor mounts, 2 big transmission bolts hold the engine on.
The transmission is mounted in two huge bolts, yes, but also in a rubber mount on the end of the transmission.
Or in front of a stretched 30s coupe where it belongs
If that's the car i think it is, that's the same motor that was in Elvis in fury road Though the rest of the sheet metal and the motor in the wreck were both fiberglass replicas, the hero car was real and the engine was sold back to the guy who built the original red car

https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/5452479040.html hohoho i'd have to drive 4 hours for this one tho
I bought a set of locks for my Kadett today. The shop that I bought them off specialized in restoring old Opel's. Their workshop was awesome. There were probably over 30 Kadett's and Manta's. Most of them were restored to pristine condition. The cars inside the shop looked like they hadn't even left the factory, while they were probably over 40 years old. It's a shame I can't restore my car like that, but it sure made me excited to finish it. I didn't take any pictures because I thought it would be rude.
this is so cool
Cruising =/= Racing Those are two entirely different situations
I don't know how I was misinterpreted on this. It may not even be worth trying to raise and argue this point, but I look at it and think, "If they were cruising, why was there a pileup? Isn't that usually something more typical of an aggressive driving style AKA racing, in any sense of the word?". Does that line of thinking make a bit more sense? Perhaps your point is that what they did was more like "dicking around", neither cruising nor racing. I'm not entirely sure. My point is, what they most likely did, whatever it should be labeled, must have been similar to "racing", and that the biggest difference was the context of doing so on the street rather than the track.
SO? You got shit to restore Sally. You don't need any Cherokees.
I looked at it, its a bit rickety and sort of half-thrown together. Its a nice rig as far as how its set up goes, but it needs tires which aren't cheap in the slightest. I gotta get the duster done, so I'll think I'll pass. Sucks, but I've gotta think of my priorities as you said
How would you guys go about buying a used car on the weekend? You know, insurance and all that.
