Forever will be my favorite LeMons car.
Holy shit, that's completely insane and I love it!
There's a guy driving this old '65 Mustang, and he lives in one of the apartments near me. I've never actually met the guy, but he always parks his Mustang next to my Supra. I think it's really cool that he does that. It's a nice gesture, and it feels like a compliment, even though he's just parking his damn car, lol.
You always hear the hate between the sub-genres of car enthusiasts, and a classic American muscle car and an imported Japanese tuner are almost never seen together, so I think it's very neat!

I keep looking at articles about different LeMons cars and I can't stop laughing, some of them are fucking hilarious.
I wish a bunch of friends and I could do that sort of stuff, it'd probably be a ton of fun.
mk4 supras transcend snobbery just like '68 chargers and GS1200SSs

I've gotta get off Craigslist before I make irresponsible decisions

yep, I don't even care for Japanese imports and I love that Supra :v:
My girlfriend REALLY wants to get a PT Cruiser, like, way too much. Anyway, I said she can only get one if it's a turbo model.
....So when she wrecks it I can have the motor for one of my cars. Lol. No, but for real. That thing needs a turbo anyway.
Also, "I like carburetors, they're easier to work on and cheaper" *proceeds to spend $2000 on a carb*
Lol wut.

don't know who's spending 2 grand on a carb, I usually buy holley street avengers and they're like $400 each. compare that to a holley terminator tbi for $1900 or even just an oem fuel injection system once you factor in the cost of the throttle body and injectors and all that it ends up being way more than $400
dump her
and street avengers are pricy carbs, you can get a rebuilt thermoquad for like $75

There's two turbo versions. Avoid the standard turbo like he plague. Get a GT and do the timing chain on it if it hasn't been done already. They tend to fail at ~85,000 and the engine is an interference design so it explodes if it does.
Or just don't get a PT cruiser

Ugly unreliable underpowered coffins with more blindspots than an oil tanker.

What blind spots? Maybe on the convertible? The standard wagon ha fantastic visibility. I'll give you underpowered, at least in the non-GT, and unreliable, though.
Does anyone here know a flexible alternative to gopro's? Preferably a system that can used wires and can be set up in a car without having to worry about it again? Synchronized recording, power from car, centralized controls. Something like that.
I'm getting tired of having to switch around battery packs all the time, or the gopro remote not functioning right.

It's an ugly Dodge Neon lol, I'd probably say it being a Neon based vehicle is the only possible redeeming feature about it since the Neon isn't the worst car you could get.

Isn't the only difference between the GT and the Turbo Lite a tune? One's tuned for 91 and the non-GT is an 87 tune. Aren't both the SRT block?

There is Race Keeper. It's an excellent data acquisition system with camera, but very expensive. There is also Traqmate, which in it's basic form with video is much less expensive and still a great system. There's a few others out there, AiM has there own version of the GoPro with extra features and a pencil cam with a remote cabled control unit, but I don't personally yet know anyone who has used one.

The GT has a cast intake manifold and forged internals, while the non-GT has a plastic one and not-so-forged internals. There's a handful of other changes, but those are the big ones.

I dont remember specifically, I just remember getting one as a rental and I was constantly leaning over the dash to see what was to the left and right of me.

Don't they have dashboard-for-miles just like the old new-beetle?

Ahh. Damn. That sucks. From browsing the PT forums they make it sound like there's very little different between the two. Like, virtually identical other than ECU.

Well I mean, the major difference is the intake manifold and the internals, it says as much about the manifold in that forum thread, but nobody seems to mention the forged internals. Occasionally you see someone try to mod a non-GT cruiser like a GT cruiser and it ends with major internal engine failure. You can get a non-GT engine to be as fast as a GT engine, but not much faster over that. They certainly don't like to handle extra boost.
Awh. Makes sense. My friend is wanting to swap a motor from a PT Cruiser into his car. Wonder if getting the turbo motor from a non-GT then getting the forged internals for it would be cheaper than getting a whole long block from a GT or SRT-4.

You can also just stuff a rag into your intake and skip the thermoquad. It works just as well.

I keep trying to get all the California Bay Area facepunchers to build a lemons car with me. I have tabs on a 1998 Mercedes C230 ready to go and it costs $350 which is the price of the overdue registration. That's tons of money left over to add spoilers and shit.

Better to just find a wrecked GT and pull the motor from that. What car is he trying to put it in? I don't know if there's any RWD transmissions that'll mate to it.

It's a FWD car, an '89 Daytona. But a Jeep Liberty 2.4L bellhousing and a Chevy S10 or Toyota Supra transmission will work for RWD.

In '04 Chrysler came out with the lower output version as well as beginning to call the GT the "High Output". Starting in '04 the GTs didn't come with any 'deletes' but there were some radio upgrades available including GPS. The good news is, the "Turbo Lite" shares the stronger engine parts of the GT which is why the Stage 1 PCM upgrade works really great to boost power in the "Lite". But no 5-speed manuals were available in the Lite and as mentioned, no Autostick. Also the speedo in the Lite is the 120mph (base) and not the GT 140mph, different upholstery and the dash trim colors are different. The brake package in the Lite has the rear disks instead of drums but they are a lighter duty than the beefier GT brakes. (The heavy duty GT brakes were available as an option for maybe one year at least but I don't recall the details. Not many got those.) As mentioned, 16" wheels instead of 17's. The Lite shares the lighter duty internal anti sway bar with the base models than the beefier GT bar. (Some people have the false belief that starting in '03 the bars were all down graded because the external bars were eliminated. But the internal bar were also beefed up at that time so it was a wash. Of course a bar can still be bolted on for more.) The GT's turbo tones down the noise a bit so it has a slightly louder muffler than the base Cruisers to keep a more aggressive sound. I'm not sure which muffler the Lite gets but if I had to guess, I'd say the GT style with the chrome tip included. I would say that anything you can upgrade in the GT you can also in the Lite including Viper seats.

I'm so confused. Lol. Regardless, turbo power is better than N/A.
