Hey guys, I finally got a car I can be proud of!!: No not that car, that one I've had for nigh on 6 months now and its broken down 6 times ish, I've had: Head gasket repair New lambda sensor Two new tyres and a re-track New Relay New Fan belt New water pump New Spark plugs and starter So in short it's been a nightmare. I've finally bitten the bullet and gotten something more reliable... Audi A3 S-Line 1.4 TFSI 150bhp, petrol. This is the first car I can truly be proud of.
Audis are REALLY starting to grow on me now, I'm almost tempted by a 7 series. Audi have really upped their game and their newer models look great. It's a shame BMW are just doing their same old thing.
Well, the dude said he was off to work so I had to come look or wait till monday. Salvage title, whatever though. The price was a steal - $6,500 for a 6ish year old car. The lanlord of our shop has a literal fleet of Prius and I showed him the ad where he had it listed for $8,000 and he told me I could easily get it for $6k. 125k miles. He said something about a battery issue so they had to put a different set in, and something to do with the frame but it was straightened out. It drives in a straight line so I'm not worried about it. I'll put it on the shop jack later and see what's up with it. I think it's going to be a perfect family commuter. I also brought a car seat with me when I went to look so I was sure it fit. In other car news I have a screw in the front right tire of the Durango. Happened some time on the way to go look at the Toyota.
Rice it.
Audi a7 sportback is so sexy
Tempted to save for a few years and get a 2nd hand RS7. They seem practical as well as being stupidly fast and sexy!
Anyone here have a 2nd gen Tacoma? 2005-2012ish? If you could do me a favor and measure the latch dimensions for the rear sliding glass, it would be a big help. Mine is missing and there's no part number for it. There's no aftermarket solutions for it since it's the adhesive type. (Except for one but it's like $40 for a tiny piece of plastic) I mean, it would probably be more secure just by sticking a rod in the window track, but I kinda wanna see how well a 3d printed one will hold up.
Drained the oik while doing some other work, and I got this. [t]https://hostr.co/file/y1fXhvEovaUX/20160401_220400.jpg[/t] How ducked am I
is the Oil like thick chocolate milk? If so, then my bet is headgasket or warped/cracked head
My Impreza just decided to blow a transmission seal or something somewhere, so now it's leaking transmission fluid. Right after I just spent $500 on MR2 parts Fuck. [editline]1st April 2016[/editline] Plus I got fucked on my taxes and I owe NYS $300 suddenly aaaaaaaaaaaaa
Auto, right? Check the trans lines that go to the radiator, make sure those are alright. Check the pan, external filter if you have one. I've never had mine leak, though most leak from the lines.
Well I was mostly worried about that jug being literally all the oil that came out, but I'll set aside some time to worry about those things, too.
Looks like about 20 litres. You'll be fine.
It's the 1.5 litre that remained after the previous oil change. Previous oil change was 5km ago. In other news I'm working on a minor oil leak.
who's the user who did wheel/parts importing from japan? I need your assistance on getting pricing if you can organise a shipment to the UK
It's the 1.5 litre that remained after the previous oil change. Previous oil change was 5km ago. Why are you doing a change after only 5 km?
All of this is similar to my trying to obtain an inner axle seal for my RSX-S. Aftermarket was completely wrong in terms of fitment. I was working on this shit Sunday afternoon, so I wasn't gonna get any help in OEM form. Finally mic'ed out the correct seal that was listed for some Accord with a manual. I feel your frustration.
Aftermarket parts manufacturers don't make a non-power passenger side steering rack boot for a 88-91 Civic. Instead they sell you one meant for a damn Tercel which the rack side is nearly 3/4" smaller. If you do manage to get it on the rack, it splits in half. I had to pay $22.99 for one locally because parts stores are cancer, just because it was of low enough quality that it would stretch over the rack where as my nicer $4 Rockauto bought Beck/Arnley would have better luck going inside the rack. Axle seals are just one of those things you have to buy from the dealer, it's really not worth it to bother with anything else. It's pretty known that all of the aftermarket ones like don't even work I think. :v:
Well, the dude said he was off to work so I had to come look or wait till monday. I honestly don't see any well kept 2nd gen ones anymore, they're all beat hard into the ground and never even driven through the automatic car wash. You got a clean one in the most basic of colors which is also one of the better looking ones along with the alloy wheels which don't look terrible. [editline]1st April 2016[/editline]
Ok my driver side window regulator has died on me I already have the replacement, but I'm wondering does anyone know about how difficult it is to replace and if I need any special tools and what not? I have a 94 Mitsubishi 3000GT here is the actual part for reference http://www.3sx.com/store/comersus_viewItemBundle.asp?idProduct=24386 I'm debating putting it on myself or *ugh* paying like 200$ in labor to have it put on.
It can be a pain getting all inside the door but if you have metric sockets and metric wrenches as well as enough different lengths, and sizes of those sockets you should be fine. You shouldn't need any non-basic tools but finding the right combination of tools to actually fit where you need them is the real hard part. Also why are there no photos of your 3000gt in this thread?! Oh, forgot I took some pictures of the Integra the other day after washing it.
If you seriously only had 1,5L of oil in your engine, you're definitely fucked, or at least should be. Well, at 1,5L I imagine it'd make a hell of a lot of noise if you started it up. You didn't start it up, did you?
Audi a7 sportback is so sexy
I would agree with you but then I remember the rear [t]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kbMnS0w8UJM/U-5hE0uR-cI/AAAAAAAACR0/hDUeoS01jSg/s1600/2015-Audi-A7-Sportback-2.jpg[/t] It's so sad... It actually wasn't hard that picture was with the old regulator and motor unbolted but still in I had a hell of a time the motor was seized and I couldn't get the window to come halfway down because I needed it to get it unbolted so I took wire cutters and just cut them lol. I love the car I've had it a little over 4 years, but unfortunately I wrecked it about 4 months after I got it. I hit an f150 pretty much head on on a backroad and surprisingly my car faired out pretty good the truck basically drove over the hood had to replace bumper fender and sideskirt as well as the control arm on the driver side, but his truck I fucked up the body was fine but somehow I knocked the engine out and it was sitting on the ground. Here is some pictures I was too lazy to go somewhere and take some cool ones so she's just sitting at my grandmas. Oh and 5spd and 83k miles in case anyone was curious [t]http://i.imgur.com/GpfWZgc.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/OYRfnS0.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/VYgLGrD.jpg[/t] I'm glad I fixed the window myself dealer wanted to charge me 360$ in labor, they can go fuck themselves for that price.
It got to 1.5l by running, sadly. I seriously can't understand why it didn't make any weird noises when driving. It doesn't really matter what happens though, I'm not depending on the car, but it was pretty fun to find the problem, and I'll replace the parts and see how it goes.
You probably should send it off to analysis before you fire it up, see if there's a lot of metals in the oil.
I had no plans on "Ricing" The Prius or customizing it in any way. I did think the wheels would probably look pretty sick plasti-dipped like black or something. Because last April 1st you bought a fiat viaggio
Because last April 1st you bought a fiat viaggio
Well actually last April 1st I SAID I bought a "Dodge Dart" and then as it turned out, it was a sham. I had not purchased one. Are you saying you don't trust me Del91? Like this is some kind of tradition going on the last few years where I make a very convincing post about buying some sensible vehicle because of A,B, or C reason? You saying this is just some dude's Prius that's been parked next to the Dart for the last few days? Why don't you trust me?
Spent most of the afternoon installing a dash cam and rigging it so it turns on and off using the parking brake.
Likely not a final product. Hoping for an instrument panel
There won't be an instrument panel, for 35k you get a fucken 2x4 dashboard and the info Tesla deems you worthy of seeing goes on the iPad. I used to work with a guy who put a deposit down for one of these shitboxes sight unseen.
