Got some tuning and syncing to do, but it's working

I gotta find somewhere to buy a syncing tool...
Are mopeds and other 2 wheeled things welcomed? I swore FP had a motorbike general thread before but I can't find it anymore so I'm going to assume that it merged with this thread.

This is my Vespa, some of you might have seen it before, its an unknown, design and some parts date back to 1985, half the parts are by Piaggio SpA and half is by LML India. There aren't any indicative markings to who actually made it but rego says its made in 2005 so I'm gonna roll with that.
It needs a new clutch cable, gear change cable and fresh gear oil. Possibly a new goddamn gearbox as I expect the oil to be completely black and ferrous during the change.
I can do most of that, minus changing the gearbox of course.
But I need advice on repainting the thing. The current paint is fucked up, bits are literally just falling off, and oddly there is no rusting or anything like that. I want to repaint that thing and have it professionally done but my dad would only agree on it on condition that I do it myself.
I suck at painting things and the only thing I know how to do is to take things and apply spraycan.
How much would it cost to get it done professionally?
And how much would it cost if I were to do it myself?

I have a Honda Aero 80 that's been sitting in storage for years. The previous owner FUCKED UP the body really body and then started applying filler but he never finished that or the sanding so when I got it there was the scooter itself which ran and had new tires, the body and trim pieces which still needed sanding and several cans of black primer and cherry red paint.
Also, the carb badly needs a rebuild.
I noticed a bubble on my sidewall today, never noticed it before.
Can't decide if I should keep going with it, trade all four in on a newer set, or what.
It's fairly small, I've had a bigger bubble on my Impreza's tire before.

A what
Had some real, real nice cars coming through lately, here's a couple pics;
When your brake lines fail, make sure to cut the old portion off and plug it with a screw.

And keep in mind that when installing CB radios the appropriate procedure generally involves using a paper clip to tap ignition power

To be honest I can see why no one comes to my shop anymore, when it's this easy to DIY why would you pay someone??
On the plus side I had use of my buddy's shop last night to take care of doing complete brand new brake lines on our other friend's shop truck. Brake lines.. always fun. Went home filthy and tired. However, I used his new hydraulic flaring tool, and WOW, it's a must have for any poor sucker in the rust belt who does a lot of brake lines. I 100% recommend it.. It's on my list of shit to buy now;

Also pulled my car in and slapped in a new warranty CV axle because the old one was clicking again alll the damn time, and did an axle seal on that side too because it was leaking, again. Also pulled the valve cover and sealed it up with gasket sealant better, since apparently the gasket I put on last fall sucks, too?? So all the maintenance was re-doing prior maintenance. Dumb. Glad it's out of the way.

you take off the air cleaners and plug the manifold crossover then set it on top of the carbs, then tweak the idle speed on each carb until the number reads the same on each at idle.
Tadaaaaa, balanced carbs.
i thought i told you this lars.......

Oh, yeah, sure. Mhmm.
Can't wait to see what your new /6 will do. I'm always interested in making things work the way they weren't designed. Haha.
Also, got my 8V 2.5L head off today. The exhaust was a dick, so I just cut it off.

Here's it with the intake and exhaust off.

Broke the studs on the EGR, oh well.
It's getting converted over to MPFI, PT Cruiser lifters, SS valves, LS1 springs and retainers, one piece aluminum valve cover, and HEMI valve seals.

But... that's a syncing tool that I said I needed :v: Just one of the many different ones that exist.
I just gotta find somewhere that actually sell them so I can get one.

That good felling when your 31 year old boat outruns a 3 year old boat with a 175HP motor and mine is a 150.
I really wish I can get a photo of my boat fully trimmed out, throwing a rooster tail and pretty much out of the water. It feels so beautiful. When I look back from the clinching seat It looks beautiful.
Anyone have one of those HF tents for cars? I've been looking at them forever and need one, but the fabric looks like shit. I was wondering if anyone has a cheaper yet as simplistic of a design that uses canvas and metal posts...
my boat is terrifying it's a 16 foot fiberglass jon boat with a 90 horse evinrude
my boat is terrifying it's a 16 foot fiberglass jon boat with a 90 horse evinrude
What makes it terrifying? The fact that its small and gets tossed a little in rougher water? Sometimes Its a lot less stressful on the boat if you head dead on to the waves not try to get at a angle with them. Also if your boat has on board live wells I found out that my ranger sits alot lower in the water with my front and rear live wells full and will perform better in rougher conditions with the extra weight. But.... I cant get too aggressive because of how low in the water its sitting after that...
I have some big balls, but still going 70mph on the water is fucking crazy, when the boat starts rocking with the water you just know your at the mercy of the boat and the water. The fun stuff is when your fully trimmed out and the boat is going so fast and your pushing her to the limit the boat rises up out of the water to the point she doesn't have contact to the stabilizers on the back and it will yaw back and forth with real no sense of control. Only way I have found to counteract this is make a gradual left or right turn to put one side of the stabilizers back into the water.
My boat is also taking on water each time I take it out for some reason. Only about a gallon in the coarse of 8hrs. But I have NO FUCKING IDEA were its coming from. And I have yet to get my bilge pump to function.
(little 84 ranger 18')
you know what a Jon boat is? it's a dinky little turd of a flat bottom boat. if you go wfo the boat comes completely out of the water and just the prop stays in. super sketchy
Did an oil change today on the 3. According to my spreadsheet, last time was in July of last year, 4,700 miles ago.
how do you only do 4700 miles in 9 months
[editline]4th April 2016[/editline]
I just averaged it out and I do about 22,500 every 9 months

My work commute until September was about 0.8-1.5 miles each way, it's about 8 miles now. The car was in the shop for about 3 weeks in December after a hit and run, and since then I've been saving all the money I can to put towards the MX-5, and doing little fun driving, to keep the mileage down, to try to keep up the resale value.
In Miata news...
This is probably the best deal I've ever seen on an NA, and it doesn't even seem like a scam. I emailed 18 hrs after the ad went live but I bet I'm like 50th in line. I'll drop whatever I'm doing to go buy that car though.
And this is basically the Miata that visits me in my dreams: all-stock white base model with 55k on the clock. I already regretting in advance having not bought it. Unfortunately that price tag is a little too real for me.
I dunno, I think that white is the worst stock Miata color. I think it looks best in reds and blues and greens and okay in blacks and other colors, but white is at the bottom of the list for me.
Any of you guys have experience with the 4A-GE or tofu cars? I'm having a problem where if I go full throttle, my car will bog on me. Feels like a fuel cutoff, fuel pressure will actually lower over time to 20 or so, too. I'm getting trouble codes 2 and 8, which are related to the MAF, but the resistance on it seemed fine. I'm also getting an O2 sensor code, which I had before (I was missing one), but it won't clear.
It's a bigport first gen by the way.

I like white—especially in this context—because it lends to the "bare-bones-ness." Weird but true. Also it looks good to my eye.
I think the worst NA colors were all those dark blues on the 1.8s (Montego, etc). I generally don't like super dark colors.

First link isn't a bad deal at all with that hardtop. You could flip the top alone for $600 easy. Do your typical rundown of the motor and be a complete dick about leaks. Never seen a single NA with the stock motor that didn't leak like hell.

I could part out the asking price or more from that car (hardtops fetch more than 600, roll bar, suspension, intake, ???). A friend and I both have 1.6s and don't have trouble with leaks. I'd be more worried about it having the bad crank (it's likely) but if it made it this far... eh

If you could find something on it, I'd really appreciate it. I've been looking for a while and I've even taken it to a couple different mechanics who weren't really able to figure it out. I cleaned the MAF sensor, to no avail, and I'm currently working on replacing the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator to see if that helps. The car drives flawlessly until it starts to bog down under load.
So my week long ordeal of trying to find oem spec properly sized swaybar end link bushings has ended. I bought a single 89 Accord swaybar end link because they're sold separately for $11 at Autozone which they spec out for a 1st gen Integra and some Nissans neither of which are remotely OEM spec for. Instead they're not speced out for a 88-91 Civic or 88-91 Prelude which share endlinks part for part with the 86-89 Accord.
Anyways, here's some pictures along with using one of my favorite tools which is a thread file.

Finished cleaning my car too, cleaned the windows, vacuumed the floor. Installed a fresh fender liner I've had for like 3-4 years in the shed I picked off a 99 Integra that was a theft recovery, turns out it was a god damn 96 fender liner so I just ziptied it a couple times at the front and it actually works really well.

I think I recall it may have been something with the TPS. Or maybe something is up with T-VIS?
Actually yeah check this out, now I remember:

Definitely give that a read, gave me a ton of good information when I was doing research for mine.
