it's still pretty Japanese robot, just less glossy
Some of the Kenwood decks are nice, I love mine. A buddy of mine does however complain the bluetooth doesn't work for shit on mine since it's really annoying to get the deck to switch between different devices and do it in a reliable way. This one is the same style as mine, think it's the year after mine's model. Aftermarket radio manufacturers are tasteless overall when it comes to design period, just go look at double din non-touchscreen decks lol. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KDCX599/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X599.html?tp=5684 Have some really terrible pictures, it also has RGB leds which work decently. Our Dartlord who art in mopardom, hallowed be my mustanged name I am picking up a 68 2 door and 71 4 door in the coming week. Plus a 69 notchback barracuda Show me a sign that my soul is not forever doomed to burn in ferdgatory
It's a 2001 and yeah it has Monsoon. I think the tradeoff to getting the car in gold back then is that it came with I think every optional additional feature. So the cage is what the radio is already mounted in? [editline]12th April 2016[/editline] Ah, that seems to be what Crutchfield is selling (the wiring), yeah?
Alright good, 2001 is nice and easy. You'll have your harness; That will wire up color to color on your new radio. You'll also have your antenna adapter; Make sure to connect the blue wire on the antenna adapter to the remote turn on wire (blue/wt) of the new radio so you'll get proper reception. One thing to look out for on Monsoon system VWs is that once in a while when you go aftermarket the amp (which is signal sensing) will not shut itself off when the stereo shuts off. I haven't ran into it in a long time now, but if that happens you'll experience battery drain overnight. It's easy to remedy, though, and can be dealt with if the problem manifests itself.
Who here has instagram? Made a new video!
The dealer offered me $5500 for my 2013 Mazda3 w/30k miles on it, NADA says trade-in is about $11000. Since I still owe $6k on the car, that screws me entirely on trade-in, and they offered me 5% interest rate on ~$31000 for $450/mo for 72mo, or $610/mo for 60 months. I'm pretty pissed off, because the car is in damn good condition, but there are accidents on the carfax (repaired by insurance) which the dealer BS'd saying there was frame damage and they'd just auction the car. The car had a couple options on it I didn't want anyways, so I'll look at other places, and maybe put the cash I've saved thus far into paying the 3 off and sell it private party. Also, they drilled holes in the front bumper, aaaargh!

I mean, Id rather have it without, but I wouldn't turn it down if the price was around the 4k range. :v:
Cadillac fins like that only work on a car designed for them, one usually without a big chunky rear fascia.

[thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsp3gggndk.jpeg[/thumb] Do you ever just look at your vehicle and think "damn, I wish I was half as photogenic as that"
I'm mock-calculating costs to buy and operate a basic track day car for a year. I'm doing a best & worst case scenarios for each item... Lot of hard-to-tell stuff (how many track days at what cost? how long will tires/brakes last?)
I thought about selling my Vic but after spending a week looking at craigslist and looking at a couple piles, I decided to go ahead and keep it. Then I saw this. [T]http://i.imgur.com/mmJenNE.jpg[/t]
Some people say the only reason people buy vic's is to impersonate cops. I just love the cars because they're ALL BUSINESS, mean in a subtle way
The amount of work to do on my truck is adding up fast. Today I fixed the cluster lights, the sockets were corroded and loose. It was a 3 hour job, since so much needs to be removed to do it. Fun fact; GM used a fiber optic cable to carry light from a gauge cluster bulb to the ash tray. I started repainting interior trim a few days ago. Not giant pieces, just thin strips that wore down. The color is Sterling Silver. Looks 10x better, just takes ages due to it being done with a small foam brush. Water pump is still dripping - won't have money to fix it until next pay check, in a full week. This happened on an off week for my bi-weekly pay.

I like my vic. despite the piss-awful throttle response, when you mash the pedal, it hauls some ass. With the police suspension and some aluminum control arms, I can take 90 degree turns at 40 mph and the body only rolls about an inch. The shape of the body has really grown on me too. Ive already told my dad that if he rolls his F150 or otherwise totals it, I got dibs on his 5.4. 5.4 swapped crown vics do amazing donuts.
What car are you thinking off?
Another NA Miata most likely

I wish I could keep it but being in college and me only driving the Miata, I'm probably going to have to sell it.
I cleaned the CDR on my truck. Upon removing it and tipping it upside down, oil poured out of it. The valve itself seems to be good, since the oil didn't fall back into the engine/out the bottom. The valve is made of some sort of rubber that is sensitive to strong solvents. Due to this, I use dawn dish soap. Upon pouring a few drops of soap in, spraying warm water in, and flowing it threw; sludge that looked a decade old came flowing out. I did this until the water came out clear. The inside is still oil stained, which strong solvents would fix, but nothing I can do there. Scrubbed the outside, scrubbed the fittings, let it dry. Hoping this fixes the slight oil consumption I have. Based on how sludged it was, I think it will.

Again though, my image of this is that those wires are already plugged into my existing receiver. I do not have to buy anything extra, correct?
Battery light basically only tells you if your alternator is going out, a battery drain will just leave you with a dead car in the morning. If you have the stock receiver, you'll have to buy all of this.

slayer, pretty good huh? http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/5535018471.html Looks like the DX, which fixes everything I don't like about my friend's STD (tach, passenger mirror, +20hp, 5spd). Wiki says a Civic in this config weighs 1933 lbs!
