Sometimes you have to buy a car you don't really want if you need it to get to work. I think that's why the Toyota Corolla exists actually- just to go to work, but not be a Aw11 Mr2. My only other suggestions would be thus:
A: Walk to work, uphill, both ways
B: Ride a horse to work, with like a bitchin' sword
C: Discover an Aw11 MR2 in a manmade lake - raise it, and rebuild it
D: Sail to work in a small dinghy made of paper mache'
E: Consider wanting more than just one specific car that is really not that special
Also I feel like those Box Mr2's are everywhere. There's no way to not find one.
In automotive news, the car show i usually take the Dart to (2 blocks away), is this weekend. The paint is literally peeling off my car in sheets now, and i don't have enough money to paint the car the way I want to, so it's sitting this show out. Now seeing everyone else's classic car they take out every Saturday with brand new looking shiny paint - makes me sad. They probably also have garages too.Big garages - like Mustang Sally, who keeps trying to rub one out on his Chevy - cause he's a Mopar guy.
Strip it all, go bare steel. Or leave it on and go road warrior.
I think your Dart would look slick naked.
Cool, thanks for the info! I was looking on my local craigslist and it seems like CX500s are a little scarce, but I'll definitely keep an eye out, I like the 500s.
Is there anything else I should look out for? What's the lowest displacement I should go? I'm not looking for anything really fast at all, mostly just something to take on back roads and such. It'l be my first bike (when I was younger I had minibikes, etc so I'm kind of not a stranger to only two wheels) so I'm trying to find something not-massive, partially because of the length of my legs, but also because I figure a lighter bike would probably be much better for a beginner.

Reaching the ground is the biggest thing i'm worried about. Am I overthinking it? I guess I won't know until I start going out to see them
My father and brother both have motorcycles but they're pretty wide for me and it makes it harder to reach the ground.
I think my father has a V-Star 650? And my brother has a VTX1300.
On another note, I found this:

I wouldn't buy it but it's pretty neat nonetheless.
Holy fuck this ad:

as long as you can touch the ground with one foot without falling over then you're good

brb buying this
My mom has a little Yamaha moped and it's hilariously fun to ride
I love mopeds
I think when I go get my motorcycle license I'll take my mom's moped, should be a bunch of fun :v:
[t]http://imgkk.com/i/2db-.jpg[/t]
speaking of mopeds and other duicycles here's my current money pit
rear wheel is off because I bent the axle the other day while hooning the fucker. currently waiting on a grade 8 threaded rod from mcmaster carr to come in as a replacement.
I call that table my empire of dirt
This reminds me that I've got this that I was gonna put a motor kit on a few years ago, but I never got around to it.

My father bought it when he was stationed in Panama in the 80's, and now I still have it.
as soon as that engine dies I'm ditching the china girl platform and switching to air cooled denardis 50cc motors. 9 horsepower (stock, after mods I want to see about 15) on a bike with a total weight of around 50 pounds should be fun
[editline]21st April 2016[/editline]
that bike already out-accelerates 250cc sport bikes at 7 horsepower until around 45 miles per hour
That's pretty awesome
An idiot just trashed the driver side of my civic today while I was at work, and didn't even bother to leave a note with his insurance data.
:(

hell of a page king
Finally saw a Taurus Police Interceptor today after a few months of not seeing one. I didn't notice how puny tiny minuscule the wheels are. With such a tall and blobby body, it looked pretty absurd.
So we were having a barbecue and my grandfather just showed up in this:
[t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/JAMJ/snapchat-9202509899292108564-2.jpg[/t]
It's and 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass! I knew he had one but I didnt know it was in such a nice condition
Sorry for the phone quality tough :v:
In the Netherlands? Sweet :v:
Bam
KW coilovers and my 20' Kleemann rims.

Got my OBD2 reader (nifty tool).
So the Volvo is now throwing a P0193, which means the fuel pressure sensor is screwing up. Since I haven't noticed any difference in car performance, I;m just gonna clear the code and see what happens.
I'm infuriated that I can't get stiffer springs & adjustable damper kits without suffering from them being minimum 20mm lower than standard.
Living in a rural area means I'm pretty much on the lookout for Rally spec suspension kits, and I'd actually like to raise the rear by around 20mm so it doesn't drag its ass around when driving with light load in the back.
I wouldn't go for the Fiero, plus I hear pretty disappointing things about them performance-wise compared to for example, an AW11 MR2.
this is coming from an MR2 owner so I'm gonna be biased
I have a deep deep, disgusting desire to own a Conquest one day so naturally I'm going to say go for the Conquest, you glorious crazy bastard
alternatively you could find a better, mint conquest
I want to make love to it.
$2500 208k Miata guy texts me, unprovoked, "I can do $2000 but no lower"
Must be having a reeeeal hard time getting interest in that thing. It's not that I'm unwilling to spend that much on a Miata; it's that I don't think I'm up to the potential task of a 200+ car, even if it was driven by the dude's mom since new.
[editline]21st April 2016[/editline]
Now that's what I call a $2500 Miata. Emailed.

That black '93 looks a lot better. Go for it!
This is my Miata, a '00 LS with 64k miles. I got it nearly a month ago for 3500 from my friend's dad's dealership.
that's a terrific price! NB1s are so prime!

This car is too much fun. I taught myself manual on it, and I've had to deal with a couple of rainy days down here in Orlando. It's so easy to lose the rear end in turns but it's just as easy to straighten the car out again.
Though that said, I spun the car in a u-turn about 2 weekends ago, but that was because it was raining and I suck :v:

The Huntress is not a cheap whore. She is a beautiful maiden who must be feared and respected, and as such, could not be disgraced and brought down to the level of showing off her nakedness for others' pleasure.
Welp, work has resumed on the bus, now that we got the generator running. If we rev it up it makes 200 volts to the outlets.

Bingo, looks infinitely nicer than the other one. The value on those cars really isn't that high and the difference between the acceptable beater and something that's actually really nice is just about a thousand dollars. I really envy Miata guys since there's a lot more nicer used Miatas out there than Hondas, I see base model fucking DX EG hatchbacks in good shape trying to be sold for as much as I bought my Integra for 6 years ago. It's probably cheaper to import these cars now, you should be able to easily get a carb car over here for way less than our rice tax lol.
This is probably the nicest Civic hatch on the west coast, and it's a 8 valve CX with a 5200 redline and a non adjustable steering column which is basically stuck at the lowest position.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/5550059309.html
One time I looked at Miatas and I found something with less than 20k miles, another which was super rare, a few Mazdaspeeds for good prices and pages of sub 100k mile NA/NB's for under 5k. Miata prices just make me want to get one and do a JV6.

Your grandfather is a boss for driving an old American in the Netherlands with our shitty gas prices. Doe hem de groeten :v:
So the police put out this pic on Facebook today:
[t]http://puu.sh/orOut.jpg[/t]
The 240 is in the old norwegian police livery but it says "crook"
Hey I got a question for all you non-american auto guys. Do the police versions of Volvos and BMWs and Ladas and such have uprated suspension and engine components like the police versions of American cars? Or are they just normal versions of the cars with paintjobs and extra lights?
Afaik the Norwegian ones are just the highest spec of that specific car.

it depends on the area of the police they go in, uk motorway persuit very regularly use the highest spec vehicles, such as M5s, V70Rs, S60Rs ectect. city patrol not so much, but higher spec in terms of gadgets and stuff (along with their own police addons)
