Argh, right after I talked myself down again from getting a Momo Monte Carlo... I really wanted to try out a 320mm and 350mm wheel on a non power steering car before I bit the bullet on the cost. Deals are deals and it can't get much worse than the wobbly, twisty, worn out 2 spoke Civic wheel.
I'd most likely be interested in any of the ones that aren't wood and are in good shape, shipping might suck since you're east coast though.
Here's the state of the Audi. All scuffed.. coming along.

As per usual, I've barely taken any pics of the process.
Here's where the big hole used to be in front of the rear wheel well. I didn't bother with much body work below the "line" because that's covered up with a side skirt. I beat the piece of metal with a claw hammer and used a brick to shape the corners in the middle of the night in the dark.. just as ghetto as the rocker panel. All that stuff got glued in yesterday with 3M panel bond.. which is hopefully some good stuff, lol.

Today was bodywork/ sanding filler day, then I got far enough I shot primer on the bodyworked sections. It was just under 50*F so amazing weather for painting. Not. Not even. So I mixed the primer a little hot with the hardener and it firmed right up. Got a little block sanding in before it got dark and found all the spots that still needed a little more attention and got a quick skim coat of filler on them and tucked it back in the garage.
Tomorrow is a little more blocking the skim coat, then once I'm happy it'll be primer round 2 and once that's sanded out that should be the end of the body work game on the car.
Thursday calls for rain and Friday looks nice, so Friday it'll probably go on jack stands in the driveway and get the bedliner coat for the rockers/pinch/wheel wells, then this weekend drive it over to my friend's place where it'll get jambed and painted and hopefully be ready for reassembly by next Weds night. Fingers crossed.
My buddies 2011 GT/CS got rear ended at a stop light by some dude doing 45+ his insurance totaled the car out which kind of sucks but he did by back the car from the insurance company just for the engine/transmission.

I'm really kind of interested to see how this works cause I drove it when it had the f1A and no stroker kit and it was quick as hell. now it's got a stroker kit and an F2 and it won't be in a stock weight '11 GT
Jesus. I bet that was a fast car.

Last pic is the first test fitting and it seems to fit perfectly.
There were quite a few areas that needed fixing before I could put on anything new as you can see

Damn it, I need to fix the rust under the gas cap on the Saab, it wasn't pretty before, but it's gotten really bad lately, big chunks of paint are starting to peel off.
The sooner the better dude.. if it looks like it's "just starting" chances are it's right on the edge of being a "oh shit it's pretty bad under there". And if it looks like "It's really starting to look crummy" chances are it's a "oh fuck there's holes here, damnit."

okay I got smarter. I want either the one exactly in the middle, or the one to the right of it. Preferably the right one if it's not too big.

Soo, when was the last time the compressor air tank was drained for water?
It's really something that should be done every half year in a busy shop.
It gets drained like every week because the compressor is crap. Even just hours after it's been drained it will start doing shit like that again.
Had some more fun at the track, there was this cool as tits BMW factory M235i racecar I managed to overtake. They came all the way from Russia too :v:

You need to buy a universal steering wheel hub for your car, and you can also buy a quick release along with it if that is what you are looking for. Everything is 350mm or smaller. again ill post info when they are here :). or follow @sjpwheels on facebook or instagram.

I used a HVLP gun on a 1960's compressor once.
Gotta love the random oil spots and water spots.

any ideas on pricing?
Im digging that black one in the bottom right with the grippy bits of a real steering wheel.
any ideas on pricing?
Roughly 80 bucks for the hub. The quick release is roughly 30-50ish

Oh I was talking about the steering wheels themselves. I've already picked out a boss hub.
We're ready for paint..

Tomorrow is a day of rest. Friday is a day of bedliner on the rockers, and then it's time to roll it to the garage for some paint.

Ain't silver a pain in the ass to 'paint match', due to the original color slightly fading over time?
The sooner the better dude.. if it looks like it's "just starting" chances are it's right on the edge of being a "oh shit it's pretty bad under there". And if it looks like "It's really starting to look crummy" chances are it's a "oh fuck there's holes here, damnit."
Yeah, I might just get a can of paint and try painting it temporary, until I can get some income. No room for rust repair in a student's budget, especially since it looks like I'll have to pay to respray my colleague's door...

Thanks!, I'd say about 3 years now.
Inner part is pretty much done:
[t]http://puu.sh/oyVb8.jpg[/t]
However the outer shell need quite a lot of modifying. It's simply made for another car, but it's the only panel we can get for it. They simply aren't being shipped to Norway anymore.

at least it's not red
at least it's not red
Ironically the problem with silver supposedly is that the original silver paint often loses a bit of "red ish" tint over time, so if you apply a fresh coat that's identical to the original coatings RAL code, it'll look a tiny bit redder than the old paint.
But yeah, red is impossible to paint-match, we just had a car in the shop with a scuffed rear bumper we got a paint shop to repaint after we had fixed the scuffing of the plastic under the paint.
Needless to say there was a clear color tone difference between the freshly painted bumper and the rest of the car, even though they guaranteed they could make it match the faded coat.
Good thing they gave us a written guarantee, so we just directed the angry customer's anger to them, so they had to bend over and repaint the bumper again for free until it matches 100%, and pay for the customers loaner car in the meantime.
