Those rims/tires makes that thing look so, sooo mean.
I totally agree!! Its crazy how a simple wheel and tire swap can change the whole look of a vehicle. Too many muscle cars are all jacked up like a cat in heat, they look their best when they're nice and low with the wheel wells covering part of the tires [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsg99e1tgd.jpeg[/thumb] The wheel wells on the dusters are pretty and the axles are short so big tires help to fill it out.
Speaking of regret not buying a car. I still kick myself over it despite being 6 years ago. I really, really wanted a Ford Bronco, I found a 1994 Ford Bronco, 3 inch body lift, with a 3 inch suspension lift on Micky tompson 38 mud boggers. Interior was redone and new. Had a whole bunch of underbody work done and a 351 windsor 4x4. I absolutely loved it. It was going to be my first car. I had 2 grand and wanted it, guy was asking 2 grand and would not go any lower and I wanted money left over to get it legal and what not, well. He wouldn't budge at all (Which I understand) and as much as I really wanted to get it, I didn't want to be broke. So I got a integra instead :saddowns: which I loved that car as well....but that bronco....I still want one.
maaan I want a muscle car
maaan I want a muscle car
Darts and dusters is cheap. Get you one. I suggest you buy that duster off Sally. He has more important cars he should be working on.
He also has like 6 other Dusters that he bought for hella cheap. I cant find a frame as cheap as he bought those vehicles for.
I don't start my job for another 8 days and i just want a car dammit. I'm looking around for just a cheap manual car (rwd preferred) But I miss driving and my friends with cars right now are lazy asses.
My buddy got his insurance payout today so got most of the stuff for the coyote swap from SHM 6500$ in carbon fiber goodies from racecraft the moser super fox rear axle and a team z front and rear suspension/k-member setup with the mini tub kit for the rear. also on the subject of stuffing as much go fast shit into a cobra as possible anyone have any experience with water/methanol injection kits we were toying with the idea of putting one on but my experience with em comes from mud drag trucks and turbo applications

Ive got this strange desire to find or of these dorky things and fit it with a predator 212 I cant find any place that sells used ones though, and I sure as hell am not buying a $2000 new one
Is there any way to patch or mitigate a power steering fluid leak other than outright replacing parts? I've got a leak in my steering rack and it's especially annoying because it's slowly turning my driveway black when it leaks overnight. This is the car's third steering rack, so I'd rather not spend money on a new rack because it's just going to start leaking in another 40k miles - it's a problem spot on the car model.
Saturday I attended an autocross school. Got to push my little Miata very hard, and had a lot of fun. There was also drifting and motorcycles racing on the NHMS road coarse in the distance, so the atmosphere was heavenly. The highlight for me though was when the instructors gave rides in their cars. The great highlight was riding in a V8 swapped Miata with racing slicks and other handling mods: Man, was it fucking nuts and awesomely fun! Also saw this Lotus, along with a purple one, not captured: I found out what it was like to lose grip in a front tire from pushing so hard it comes off the ground, along with how easy it is to manage and recover from locking up the wheels with no ABS. I was surprised how crazy slow my times where on the afternoon full course, but it was partly from having extra difficulty learning the track. Kept missing gates and stuff. Pushing overly hard didn't help either. Another guy with a similar, but much more modded Miata managed 1st in the first heat, so it was definitely more me than the car.
that's a loooooooooooot of money for an AMC
~40k seems to be the usual asking price for a The Machine and Rambler Scramblers. If it was just a regular Rebel SST or whatever it'd be half as much at most.
He also has like 6 other Dusters that he bought for hella cheap. I cant find a frame as cheap as he bought those vehicles for.
You will not have any luck finding a frame for a duster. They don't have one.
You will not have any luck finding a frame for a duster. They don't have one.
You know what I meant. I cant find the bones of a Duster for the price he finds whole ones
My 2005 Opel Astra just got a bit sick, took it to the service centre to check it. The central locking together with the fuel gauge decided that they want to stop working.. I checked the fuses and the wiring, and everything seemed to be alright. I hope it's not something with the ECU, if it is, that's gonna be a lot of money
It was +30C today, if there was a hint of snow, it got OBLITERATED! I think to the east there is still snow, I cant attest for how much tho. I'm down to my dart, and duster. I still want to pick up that one 71 4 door for $200 tho. [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile Uploads/image_zps2q4j04ek.jpeg[/thumb] Front wheels are on, damn they're cool! Gotta paint the backs to match tho

Its a little thicker than regular power steering fluid, and after he went through a bottle or two it stopped leaking.
I'm on my 4th bottle with my truk. Hasn't stopped yet.
I'm going to start adding it to mine. Replaced the lines and steering box, but still have a different leak.
I'm going to start adding it to mine. Replaced the lines and steering box, but still have a different leak.
My.... Output Pitman seal on the rack of pouring, Return line is held together with hose clamps and finally ungod knows were the pump is also leaking. As long as it still goes down the road who cares. Only thing I gotta do is wipe everything down with a rag before state inspection and no one even bats a eye. Would really like to rebuild them..... eventually.
How significant are the differences in lubricants for power steering fluid? My car calls for Dextron II or III automatic transmission fluid for the power steering system. However, Dextron 2 and 3 seem to be about as rare as unicorn blood because it appears that only O'Reilly's stocks it; everyone else only stocks Dextron IV and beyond. Would it make any difference if I use Dextron IV, V, or VI? Or the generic "Power steering fluid" that all stores stock?
Look for dexron not dextron, I can find plenty of any of the ones you listed in the UK, no reason why it would be different in the us
I've seen them made out of pvc. roll your own, it'll be fun [editline]3rd May 2016[/editline] that's a loooooooooooot of money for an AMC
sheeeeeeeeeiiiit, pvc is super cheap I could whip up something reeeaaallly nice with 100ft of schedule 40, a pile of fittings, 2 scrap bicycles, a predator 212, and maybe a gocart torque converter. I could probably rig up a halfway-decent model T style front suspension with a 2x4, half a truck tire, and a bunch of U-bolts. I'd like to have a straight axle in the back, but if that proves too difficult, I suppose I could run a really long jackshaft to both rear tire sprockets.
Look for dexron not dextron, I can find plenty of any of the ones you listed in the UK, no reason why it would be different in the us
Typo. Anyways almost nobody stocks II or III which is what the manual recommends. Only IV and beyond.
did you look on ebay and places?
Just mount a Predator directly to each rear wheel and give them a joint throttle.
idk if he can weld but if so 2 engines single carb would be easier.
ATF is ATF. And remember Dexron VI Is backwards compatible with III. Just dump some Valvoline ATF in that hoe.

The Civic experienced it's first breakdown, decided to start randomly dying and running like shit. Would decide to die and refuse to start when hot, wait a few minutes and it would run fine again. Popped a code 15 as well which is basically the M.O of a bad ICM. Old dizzy tests out fine, primary coil winding is a touch high resistance but I'd probably just say it's a low quality part. Secondary winding is fine despite the contact spring looking like it was dredged from the ocean. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-03%2016.24.57.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-03%2016.28.29.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-03%2016.29.41.jpg[/t] Now how about testing the ICM? Checked the Helms service manual and basically the procedure was to check if it's getting power and the wire isn't broken. The last step was "If the ICM tests normal, replace ICM"... [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-03%2016.35.51.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-03%2016.37.18.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2016-05-03%2016.37.40.jpg[/t] Tossed the dizzy on, started it and went to time it. Spent more time confirming that I didn't actually have to adjust the timing as I put it exactly dead on by eye. Reset the ECU, took it for a drive and it idles far smoother and feels pretty good. For the most part before it seemed fine aside from a slight oscillation from what I figured was a misfire or something when cruising down the road. Went with a Richporter unit. Autoline and Spectra are made by Richporter and King Motorsport sells them so they can't be half bad like the shitass garbage quality Cardone's which are worse than any sort of junkyard unit.
