And good god, NO MORE CHAIN MAINTENANCE.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the older BMW moto's I've seen that had no chain or belt final drive, it had a crankshaft and a rear diff.

Wait thats common? I've never seen it before that one in the Vortex in atlanta.

Most bikes are chain driven, in fact, almost all of them are. But for some reason BMW's and Japanese cruisers are shaft driven... a much more intelligent design, imo. Simpler maintenance too, just drain and replace the fluid on a scheduled interval. No sprockets, no chain, no lube flying everywhere, and no destroyed brush every 3k.
so how different is car wiring from house wiring because this looks pretty fun

What do you know of winter, sweet summer child?
I know no one around here can usually drive worth shit in the snow, and it's amazingly fun to do AWD donuts with Subbies in church parking lots.

It's a little tigther, but if you don't have any fancy smancy electronics, it's fairly easy, especially if you have experience with house wiring.
unknown electrical issues are a bitch to solve

Police bikes are often shaft driven for reliability and ease of maintenance. It's one reason BMW police bikes are so common.

that reminds me, if anyone here sees or knows someone who has a cx500 turbo or cx650 turbo, they are obligated to tell me because I have a huge boner for them. 100 turbocharged horsepower on a fuel injected 650 in the early 80s. Down right futuristic, that is.

Welp, it finished snowing here and our totals range from about 9" to 14" depending on where you are in the city. And I can now safely say my already-low tread tires are completely flat from playing around in too many parking lots today. :v:

Man 90s Silverados are so mint.
so depending on how this weekend goes i may end up with a 280zx as a daily....
Got this dropped off at the shop this morning for $300. Rebuilt slant with no run time. Also came with a rebuilt transmission which also hasn't seen use. After rebuild it was modded and fit into a 1940s panel truck and then sold the project. The guy I bought it from bought that, then took the slant out to do something else, and drove it over in the bed of his truck. I got it out with a forklift and mounted it on my engine stand that used to house the rolls v12. I'll modify the stand to work on it easier. Then it's getting a new cam, forged pistons (possibly, gonna see what's in it) brass freeze plugs, some oil routing modification, and building a custom intake/exhaust manifold for awesomeness using one of these:

So it is all one piece with some bent and welded tubing and a carb plenum base. After that I think I will be repainting the whole thing white or possibly silver - I don't know yet. Then having bronze and brass colored accents.
It's gonna be fun.

Got a mobile domicile today. I think I overpaid at 1200, because there's no actual 12v system in it, no heater, and the fridge was replaced by a mini fridge in a shoddy way. The inside is pretty nice though. Ill post pics after its cleaned up. I guess the upside to having no 12v wiring is that I can set it up exactly how I want it myself. Ill have to anyways, since the lights dont work. Also I need towing mirrors. Badly.
So I just got a new car...well it's not new, but you know...
It's a 1990 300zx 5 speed with 200k on body, 65k on motor. Don't have pics yet, but will try and show her off tomorrow!
