Welp, AA, I adulted hard, and put my tax refunds into my car payment. I'm now down to $1,200 remaining of my original $6k over 3 years with 1.5 years remaining. No new car parts for me this cycle...
Is that for your Charger?

Thats a 520i right? From what year is it again?
And have you ordered parts before? I need either a whole new carb set, or carb revision set for my 520
Shit, when I got the bike title from the previous owner, he filled everything out in the "reassignment by licensed dealer only" section. Im not used to minnesota titles. The courthouse in sioux falls are kinda assholes, so how screwed am I?
oh, almost forgot, bike pics

Needs the brakes rebuilt, suspension adjusted, and carbs gone though, then its usable. After that I really should change the coolant, oil, and timing belts. And new points.
One day with lowering springs, and I've already managed to punch out the fog light delete and rip the fog light wiring out, yay!

Yeah it's a 07/1985 model. With L-Jetronic so no carb for us. We have a lot of experience with ordering parts :smug: if you need parts, start with googling Ivo Christov or Offenga, they're both big names when it comes to everything related to the E28 (especially Ivo!). Otherwise you can seek out a forum like e28forum, lots of people on there who can help you!

Does that include E12? My 520 is from 1973
Does that include E12? My 520 is from 1973
Then it's an M10 four-cylinder engine right? The E28 only used the M10B18 for the 518/518i model, which used a Pierburg carb for a short while, but I bet you're looking for the Solex. I would try Offenga then, Ivo basically specialises in the E28, but it's always worth a try. Just send a quick e-mail to them both and they'll help you out.
I just had to do a slight engine repair with 3 wine corks.
My car is interesting.
Does anyone in here have knowledge on oil pressure, oil pumps and oil pressure sensors?
The Supra lit the oil pressure warning light last weekend. It appeared shortly and disappeared again after like 20 seconds, so I didn't really think much of it.
Now it's started occouring again more frequently, in longer intervals.
It only appears after the engine is up to proper running temperature, and mostly when I'm at idle or constant RPM's, like highway cruising.
I'm running 10W-50 oil. And it's worth noting that we've had a huge increase in the temperature here in Denmark.
Saturday last weekend it was snowing, and yesterday it was 28c/83f degrees, and the problem only started after summer hit us like a sledgehammer. I don't know if it's relevant though.
The car is running as good as ever, and I don't feel any change in the performance. So I'm honestly not sure if it's a faulty sensor or if it's really running on low pressure.
The problem is that it's my only car and daily driver, so I need to get it fixed ASAP, I just don't know what's wrong and where to start.
Any advice on the matter would be appreciated!
Edit:
I didn't even consider checking the oil level since we did an oil change about 3 months ago. Turns out it was almost dry, and that was the reason for the warning light. Holy shit, that was a wake up call. I'm not used to checking the oil level very often as the Civic didn't use any oil at all.
Stupid mistake :C

I've got a stromberg 150/175 carb (two of them actually), not sure wich engine tough. But its a 4 cilinder for sure

Alright, that should be an M10B20 then (four cylinder with 2.0-liter capacity). But it helps a lot to know which carb you're talking about! I'm sure you can find some forum with a lot of E12s on there, Google is your friend. And again, Offenga or maybe D-parts can help you along with finding fresh / refurbished carbs. A forum with E12 enthusiasts is even better, they have knowledge and probably can suggest less expensive ways to help you rather than just ordering parts.
Weather forecast said its going to be thunderstorms today and tomorrow.
And I'm taking the pickup tomorrow to my estate.
Will be bringing my camera.
Expect loads of mud, and river crossing. And more mud, and getting stuck in mud.
Had my friend drive the car so I could hear it from the outside. I really like how it sounds, it's nothing like when you sit inside the car.

now I need to sell something to make room, my house is looking too much like a car lot by now. or as my dad calls it: "a nigger's yard"
[editline]10th May 2016[/editline]
you know you have a problem when you have 9 vehicles out front and 3 more in the back, 5 more at a warehouse, and 3 parked at various buddies houses
At least when you need money you can sell some real property
So I took the week off. And in normal fashion it's not a vacation, it's a chore.

And now it's raining and cold today so I can't even get anything done. I've spent the afternoon shopping for bits and pieces, assembling the air management, getting the air struts ready (had to go from 1/4" line to 3/8"), and that kind of thing.
All the rust that got cut out was sealed with POR15 and I sealed the new patch panels with it, too.. and I'd really like to get out there and finish the repair with some welding and panel bond, buuuut the weather isn't coorperating. Ah well.
The original plan was to put the pancake tank in the spare tire well and run total stealth, but one of the goals is to not do any permanent modifications to the vehicle (just 'cuz) and that means we're not going to chop out all the spare tire bracketry, so the pancake tank is temporary and we'll get a smaller "normal" tank to go behind the seats at some point. This week the name of the game is "get it working" for the weekend of Automotion in WI Dells.
Bonus Audi/NSX pic.. the NSX is tiny compared to the German thing, lol

still have a few more electrical issues to fix before it hits the water again, but with any luck I'll be able to make one tomorrow. I only heard it during the test drive yesterday.
all that's left is getting the fuel gauge fixed and installing a horn, which I'll hopefully be able to do tomorrow (ran out of ring terminals, only thing slowing me down). none of the wiring was right, I don't know how it got to be so fucked up, but I was able to redo the lights, gps, bilge pumps, aerator, sonar, and depth finder today.

People wiring boats is a nightmare. I want to rewire my ranger but jesus that's a lot of work. Theirs a 5.2volt voltage loss between the front depth finder and the section were the batteries are. Plus if I cant turn on all 3 depth finders / sonars. Its like they are all on the same little 18 gauge line.

Buy the water muffs now before you regret it later. Running on land is the best alarm clock for your neighbors.

I wish, it's the anemic gen 1 rear bumper that looks like a dude without a chin, LOL

No plans to upgrade now, but who knows, maybe I'll get rear ended or something :v:

fortunately whoever wired this boat originally knew what he was doing and color coded everything, it's just over the years as stuff has been added and moved around some fuckery happened and the owner wasn't smart enough to fix it.
Buy the water muffs now before you regret it later. Running on land is the best alarm clock for your neighbors.
I've already got water muffs, this is my third boat in 10 years, and 99% of my time on the water is in salt water so I gotta flush the motor all the time
I'll be running it in the bay anyway, I got a boat launch about half a mile from my house so other than flushing it doesn't make sense to run the engine on land
So I've been saving up money for a while, and I was planning on buying a Z32 300ZX TT towards the end of the summer (When I'd have about 10K to go looking for a new car). Well, my DD which is a 2005 Lexus ES330 that I got from my mother when she got her new car is approaching 160k miles. I mentioned to my grandfather that I've been wanting to learn MT, and in an unprecedented moment of generosity, he said he would match my money on the condition that I get a newer, lower mileage car that I'll be able to drive for a while. So I went and looked, and found a 10k miles, clean carfax 2015 FR-S MT at a nearby dealer for 20k off the lot. The only complaints I've heard is that it's a little underpowered, but that's not necessarily something I'm worried about as long as it's fun to drive and not a total hassle. I was looking at miatas, but I don't really want a convertible. I've always loved cars, but I've never been able to own one that was really 'mine', and this would be my first chance.
Is there anything about the GT86/FRS/BRZ that I need to know before I buy one? Despite how some people feel about the car, I love the aesthetics of it, and it seems like a good choice, but I don't know all the details, and wanted to get some extra opinions.
My butt hurts, my body is aching and my hands are limp.
Why do people like off roading.
Came home, called the driving school to book the theory test for my bike license. Someone fucked up and my name wasn't recorded in the lecture attendance list which means I can't take my theory test. Initially if all went well I should have license by the 20th June but now its been pushed back by at least 2 weeks. Now I have to come back to the goddamn school to yawn myself to death on the 22nd May and won't be able to take my theory test until at least the 27th May. And I'm leaving this country on the 12th of July. Fucking hell I'm quite pissed ATM.
I thought of picking up a (relatively) cheapo 90's Kawasaki KLR for like $1000 to ride around in and maybe take it to the estate but now even if I get my license I would only have a week or two with it. I guess I'll have to let that go.
I wouldn't consider it exactly underpowered. For what the car is, it has pretty good power.
Compaired to other Subaru models, yes, it's underpowered.
I think it's a pretty good choice. I, myself, prefer AWD Subaru's though.
The FRS is reliable, handles well, should make a great car.
I'm thinking of buying my grandmother's 1992 Volvo 740 wagon. Has around 170k miles. Runs perfectly outside of the occasional electrical issues (old wires, yo). Is this a terrible idea?
[editline]11th May 2016[/editline]
Otherwise, what would be a good reliable car for daily commuting and such? Nothing big, preferably with good decent mileage, etc. Budget probably around 5k? I dunno exactly yet.
