I just put anything I need gone in a burn barrel
if fire is too conspicuous just grab one of the diamond cut shredders from staples like $20 and no way in hell anyone is going to put shit back together

Have you seen Better Call Saul?
Why not just put the shreds in a bucket of water? That should make them thoroughly unusable.
We're going to need a paper shredder thread where everyone can get the latest and greatest in the paper shredding world
Someone needs to do a 350 swap on their shredder
Someone needs to do a 350 swap on their shredder
Liquid cooled, direct injected for maximum shredding performance

Someone send this to Clarkson for Grand Tour.

I prefer a 6.2 Detroit in my shredder. More torque + better economy = all the shredding you can handle
Had some nice action racing the car near the airport and then seeing the world's largest plane touchdown! I didn't get any photos sadly (nor do I have any decent cameras)
It was super eerie though. Heaps of people parked outside the racetrack were standing on their cars and then pointing as it came (at which point I'm like oh shit it's happening, find a vantage point). It was like being in an apocalypse movie, waiting for some dodgy blue planet to hit the earth.

Got my paint, the good shit! Now just to find time when I can strip and prep all the stuff off I have to paint.

All that and no reliability. 5.9L 12v cummins all the way.

How was the view of it from the track? I'd imagine it'd be decent.
Unrelated but bought a motorbike this weekend after having my learners for a motorbike for ages and daily riding a scooter was getting very slow finally made the push to actually get my licence, so had a lesson with and instructor who was amazed at just how quickly I picked up on riding a motorbike, to the point he was confident of me being on the roads 20 minutes into the lesson.
So yeah bought a Suzuki GDX-250F Across for $850.
Here's a picture with me on it

Don't worry, I have gear, friend wanted a quick picture with me on it.

Nah, they would stick a 4bt on it instead. That or one of these that I have not been able to find but want one terribly.

The 6.2 is as reliable as the Cummins, maybe a little more due to no turbo setup to have issues wiith.

It might be a diesel but it defently does not earn the tile as being reliable in a diesel catagory, its reliable if you use it as a gasoline truck and not abuse it.
Don't get me wrong here, I love the 6.2 and 6.5 and they are just as nice as cummins motors but you cannot demand everything from them like the cummins motors they will just shred themselves inside and out. Yes I would own one. I've looked at several 6.5's in suburbans but they ALL had blowby and ALL were exclusively used to "tow a camper to xyzhillyarea and back".
I managed to track down a dealership with six Fiesta STs and 19 Focus STs... Problem is, it's five hours away in Ottawa. I do have a lot of family in Ottawa, but I'll probably have to take some time off work to head down there. I'm pretty mediocre at driving a manual, so test driving a manual is going to be a bit intimidating in a much larger city than I'm used to. Oh well.
I'm sure this is late as fuck but it made me laugh

Got to go for a little drive today!

And something even more interesting happened. I missed it because I was at work, but my friends were just about to start eating some sandwich, garage door open.. a decent day since it wasn't 35* anymore, nice.
Then out of nowhere a huge freaking sandstorm dust cloud thing descended upon the driveway and then proceeded to basically fill the entire garage with dust and sand. Like, seriously? Everyone said they'd never seen anything like it, I'm really bummed I missed it.
Check out the aftermath..

There are a million misconceptions about the 6.2.
As a diesel; yes, it's actually very reliable.
Even when pushed to the 4k lb bed capacity and 10k lb towing limit, the average, well maintained 6.2 lasts about 500k miles.
Many 6.2's die early from being undermaintained. If you skip replacing the harmonic balancer and ignore dual mass flywheel vibrations, yes, it will shred itself when pulling 10k lbs.
6.5 diesels are another game alltogether with a whole different list of maintenance items to check.
I've got a bit of a grinding noise on my Saab. Also has a bit of a knock going over bumps. I just replaced the ball joint and rear control arm bushing, and it was quiet for a while. Could it be the bearing doing both, or am I looking at something like a CV joint?
CV joint (at least on my 900) would be a clicking while turning. I'm not familiar with the GM saabs at all though so it might be that. :v:
Just went for a drive now, really loud knock when I hit a hole while turning, couldn't really hear anything going straight.

It was alright, didn't get to see it hit the tarmac sadly what with a car graveyard and some trees in the way. But the silence waiting for the approach was awesome.
Also sort of related, I found out during the racing that I only had one rad fan plugged in (???) no idea how long it was like that for and I swear I never unplugged it. amazingly the temp gauge never said the car got hot in the time I've owned it, and it's good that it was the smaller of the fans too.

Generally, the second fan is only for the A/C. Your A/C will work better with it when you are stopped for long periods.
Depending on the rad setup, the standard fan may have already been partly covering that fans job.

Yeah the small fan was in front of the condenser and the other behind the rad. When I plugged it in it did instantly start pushing warmed air out the other side. And yeah likely this will just ease the stress off the big fan.

Which direction is it blowing?
It should be blowing towards the engine.
Though, from how i picture it fromm your pist, it sounds like the opposite?

It looks like I've finally decided on going for a rollbar. Thought about going with Blackbird fabworx, but for $895 on their x-brace, Harddog still has them beat, even with the extra $125 leather-covered padding. So total with shipping from them works out to $755 (x-brace+padding). Still a hefty sum, but even the double diagonals only are $30 less. So might as go with the best I can buy.
Looking forward to receiving my Snell-approved helmet sometime this week. Ordered a medium since the sizing guide seem to suggest that might work. I have a small head, but I felt the small would be too small by .5"-1". This medium better fit though, I signed up for autocross on June 5th, so I wouldn't have enough time most likely to return and get the right size. They always have loaners, but not many, and I don't want to bank on snagging one (although this worked out fine for the school I did end of April; less people). Best to just come prepared.
EDIT:
You guys might be interested in my friend's videos documenting his painstaking progress of trying to race prep a Honda CRX as a plan B for the start of the local hillclimb season.
Day 2 video up today:

He was supposed to have his Datsun S30 ready, but a large hold up occurred from his cage fabricator. I don't know how he made things work smoothly before, since we're in NH and his fabricator is in VT (helps that the hillclimbs are in VT though). But basically, if my friend had left the cage work until later in the build, it might have worked out better with the schedule (supposedly). I don't even have the full story, but from what I can follow, it wasn't just the fabricator issue that was a hold up. But yeah, his plan B is this CRX, and even that is a crapshoot, but at the same time he just might manage. Even then, he most likely would only miss the first hillclimb of the season, but he is putting the pressure on himself to not start missing climbs.
Went for a drive on Lookout Mountain on Saturday with my roommate. The weather sucked.
