Today I saw a bike crash on the interstate. The man had no head, and half of his bike was about a quarter of a mile ahead of his body. I had a cop pull me over on my hard tail haro for not wearing a helmet, even though i had my helmet strapped to my back pack. I was coming back from dirt jumping and 4x riding on dirt, and on the road i put the helmet away since it fucks with visibility and is just generally nicer to ride without. The cop swerved across a lane of traffic and jutted straight into my lane to roadblock me to tell me how unsafe it was to ride without a helmet, then slapped me with a thirty dollar fine. Keep in mind it was flat roads, on a 25 degree day, pavement dry as bone on very light traffic roads and canadian drivers are all but harmless. But no, some fastidious motherfucker in city council decided that no seat belts and a zero star crash test bus are 100% safe, but an experienced rider who's used to downhill racing and dirt jump trick riding under the safest conditions possible needs to be smacked down with a fine. In short, fuck that. If a semi or SUV hit me, a helmet is only going to keep me alive long enough to bleed to death, that's my call to make, and not a womble in city hall who hasn't seen real sunlight in 13 years.

My buddy is gonna sell the car to me for $200. Shit, all I wanted was the leather interior but that works too. :v:
Can anyone help me with a problem? My 1978 Kadett's engine cuts out when coming to a stop. More precisely, it cuts out the second you give it some throttle. The engine works great otherwise. Any ideas? We're planning on rebuilding the carburator, maybe that'll fix it.
Norway require helmets on bicycles too. You can get fined if an officer see you cycling without a helmet.
There really isn't a reason not to wear one.
I just tried removing tint glue with a scouring pad rip brand new car windows

Im fully aware of the risk and its my decision not to wear it. I definately think people should wear helmets, but i dont think it should be law to have to wear one. It isnt the governments place to force people to be safe, people should take responsibility for their own safety. There are no helmet laws here in SD, and while many people choose to not wear them, i think thatss how the law should be. Pretty sure helmets are required under 18 years old though, that makes sense, kids are dumb. I am thinking im gonna get a half helmet for riding around town, theyre less stuffy than a full face helmet.
why would you do that
I didn't think windows could scratch that easily with a scouring pad. I also used a shaving razor in place of the other razor to clean up some stickers and now my car windows are full of micro and giant scratches. so there's not much wrong with aftermarket windows right?? I think I might need a replacement
nothing wrong with aftermarket windows at all
I keep thinking there is because there is such a huge difference in price between oem and aftermarket. I asked for some oem and they were about 6x more

Random question guys. As long as I've had my car, I find that certain gas stations pumps seem to be picky and decide to shut off improperly way too early. The other night I had to stand at the pump and keep pumping the damn thing because it would kick off after a few cents worth of gas dribbled in. Yet others, it will work fine from E to F. Any idea what might be causing the pumps to do that and kick off prematurely? It seems to be mostly shell stations and some times BP stations that do it. Never had an issue with Sheetz or Citgo what-so-ever.
The Mazda felt slower than my Cavalier, despite having 15 more HP, though I think that was partially due to the automatic transmission being smoother than I'm used to and not dropping into second all the time. The interior was fucking incredible compared to what I'm used to. The hatch had plenty of space. The Infotainment system was quite nice, though irritatingly it didn't include Android Auto. new vehicle
This is the primary complaint around the Mazda 3 forums. The most annoying fucking complaint is related to CarPlay. FYI, Android Auto is possible by running a bastardized setup over your phone's WiFi, hacking the car and connecting to that. It is not seamless, but it does kinda work. The advantage to this same infotainment being in basically everything is that the community is working hard to make the system better. It also means Mazda may roll out official support in the future that will be backwards-compatible. I drive a 2015 sGT sedan, you can ask me non-hatch related shit if you like.

Only really had the premature shut off issue at 1-2 stations though, and it happened even before the check engine light came on for a small evap leak. Just a couple days ago my did some how discovered a loose hose, and promptly tightened it. Check engine light went away, after almost a full year of riding around with it on. Once we get the bumper back on, it should be ok for passing inspection, pending there isn't other shit we didn't miss.

I haven't test driven anything but the Mazda yet, though I think it's the best "Practical" car I've seen on paper. It does pretty much everything I want and then some... I just wish it had more power or was lighter or something. I almost wish I could justify an MX5... The problem is, I'm really attracted by the much more expensive Fiesta ST ($30k before taxes here) that has less space and likely a harsher ride. But if the silly little Ford puts a smile on my face, I'm sold. I guess I'll find out this weekend when I go to Ottawa this weekend.
My dear, first love. After surviving 32 000km and 15 months, 4 ditch crashes and a complete oil loss, she left us during a catastrophic head gasket failure. The E36 is dead. Long live the next E36. [editline]26th May 2016[/editline] I'm actually kinda sad, but at least I'll get half of what I gave for it just by scrapping it after taking the parts I want.
I cant tell if this is a serious post, its too early in the morning
I'm for real :) We need more kids playing football and less kids posting all day on tumblr lol. In other news.. I picked this thing up for $450. 420a N/A 2.0L and a 5spd. It's my buddy's car so I know (and performed, lol) all the maintenance done to it. She's rough, but you know, not too horrible. It runs and drives. So here's the options.. 1. flip it for a couple hundred extra bucks. 2. do something stupid with it like try to turbo it on a budget or something and see how long she holds on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What makes Dodge Neon R/Ts so fast at rallycross? I see them consistently in the top 5 of the stock-FWD class of rallycross (the class I will be running in the foreseeable future), and the 2014/2015 SCCA national winners were driving them. At 150hp and 1100kg, it doesn't seem like it would be outperforming Fiesta STs and Mazdaspeed 3s in the dirt but it is. Same with Escort GTs, making 130hp @ 1100kg.

I'm in the market for a new A to B car. I need something that's usually reliable, good on gas, and is relatively easy to fix. Any recommendations for cars i should look out for on Craigslist?
Corolla, Civic. All day.

No car companies produce their own glass in house anymore, it's all outsourced to the glass companies like mentioned above. The only difference is that branded windshields and windows has the OEM car logo in the bottom left or right, it's literally the same thing except from the logo. Some stations simply have poor quality pumps. I've had some not shut off at all, some with the not pumping at all issue. My Subaru has EVAP issues, i believe due to overfilling in the past. At good stations, I don't have issues. Others, no pumping, no stopping, etc.
it's either evap or vent to atmosphere, either way the line could be full of gunk and/or spiders
