He just wanted to vent and discuss this with others.
He's not expecting a mass change of beliefs and I would hope that people don't have to be convinced to regard an anonymous human life as being of greater worth than an anonymous cat life.
A life is indeed valuable and I'm not saying a cat's life is worthless or even near that I'm just saying that a human life has far greater potential than a cat's life.

It was never full of rational or intelligent people. This was evident back when the old ratings system was in place with the same shit that you described.
It's also another argument why the ratings system is fundamentally flawed, people will rate you dumb or disagree but never explain why in a post nine times out of ten. Then some will argue that the ratings system is what makes the forum "unique". The thing that should make it unique is the community itself, not stupid and meaningless features on a forum.
I also don't understand this preference over animal life to human life, of course I don't condone the actions of these animal abusers (medical science is a different story in regards to "cruelty"), they are damn-right horrible and have no just cause. But then wishing a horrific death for the perpetrators is being no better than they are.

ANIMALS:
Racism: Monkeys and Gorillas sometimes have tribes that are harsh on outsiders, not letting them in often. This is racism, if a chimp tried to join a group of orangutans it would probably not happen.
Wars: Though wars are usually fought over land, religion, or to prevent further conflict, this does not mean that animals can't do the same. Animals will protect whatever territory they know is theirs, and will fight for it if needed.
Rape: It is not called "rape" as far as animals go, but sometimes the male will mate with the female even if it is not desired by both sides. Pretty much rape.
Religion: Animals obviously do not practice religion. I, personally, believe in God, but for those who don't believe, faith can do many great things for people, and society as a whole. Think about it, many people today live by some sort of Biblical morals, I don't see this hurting anyone as of right now (except in the Middle East). Even if Jesus wasn't real, a few men from the 1st century have done more good for the human race and lifestyle than anyone else ever has.
Cults: Assuming you are talking about religious cults, I do not agree with them. They distort words and phrases, and are pretty much BS. Though, animals can have tribes or cults, this is nothing new.
In a nutshell: Humans are Mammals, and Mammals are Animals. The thing about humans is, they have MUCH, MUCH more potential to do, and have done, great things for this world. Stop refusing to see the good side. Would you be here arguing on the internet, if humans hadn't stopped to think, and develop greater technologies?

I think your racism argument is a little flawed. I thought chimps and orangutans were different species, not races?

Also, back to the racism thing, not trying to be racist myself. But-
I noticed, quite often, that dogs seem to bark at black people a lot more than they bark a white people. Trained to do it or not. I was walking to my bus stop, and walked past a lady with a dog, nothing happened. About 50 feet behind me was a black kid from my neighborhood, the dog went apeshit.
OP is butthurt. Cats are animals that people actually care about, so are dogs, and any other pets. Imagine someone killing a lion, it doesn't make much of a difference, you don't have a lion in your home. But imagine someone killing a cat, look at that cat picture in the OP, thats disturbing, and even most disturbing is knowing that that japanese/chinese (I don't know, they all look the same to me (The alphabet)) guy took a picture of it and posted it on the internet expecting everyone to congratulate him or just rage at the act. Now stop acting such a child and go join some social organization, cats are helpless, humans are not, humans can defend themselves, cats can't against humans. Of course I was shocked by the hitchhiker video but still...

I honestly agree. I was just using words he mentioned. It seemed to relate close enough to where you could call it even.
