also you can judge the objective quality of music pretty easily
if the fans of a band listen to the band because they are more interested in the band's image or what other people think of the listener, then they are a bad band. any number of bands that you (yes you!) hate are bad because their success as a band has nothing to do with the music they produce and because of it they just produce horrible trash.[/QUOTE]

I'm not the kind to dismiss pop music as "simpleton" because that's not the case at all. It's merely a brand for a population of people rather than sticking to specifics.
Teen Pop however, is more branded towards a specific age group and specific brand of teenager which I personally am unable to relate to.
I get the idea of what it would be like to enjoy Avril Lavigne, but I have no inclination to dig into it.
Unless otherwise, I find the right personality who brings the genre out of this "locked down".
This is the one and only time I'm going to talk about teen pop.
