it feels like someone slapped you with an elastic band really hard. It's nothing, just run around and have fun.
I started going when I was 13. Wear 2 shirts if you're that scared. It only hurts really bad for about 5 seconds, but it's bearable, and depends on where you're hit.
best paintballing area I went was somewhere near Nesscliff on a Combined Cadet Force camp. We got given body armour and the maps were awesome. One of them you had to raise the alarm on a bus and I sat on the stairs for the whole 20 minutes of the round and only shot one person in the last minute of the game when he rushed the bus. Another part of the map reminded me of the sniping mission in COD4 with Captain Mc Millian. I dived over some sandbags into the building, before I made my way through the old style flat blocks and got to the top floor. I looked out the window and saw six guys in the trench below me, nailed em all :D Then I legged it out the building back to base and shot 3 people from behind on my way back as I was behind enemy lines. I love paintballing, although I have never tried Airsoft. But paintball is awesome when the map is great and the team works together.
the last time i paintballed (?) i had no real protection stuff, only a thin worker-suit kind of thing. it hurt like a mofo, especially getting hit in the legs. But as i was owning everyone else i got hit about 3-5 times only. Shot one of my friends right into the face, the color got through his helmet and he had to walk home with a blue face. yay
First time I got hit I swear I was dying, I cried a bit and I had to sit out for ages. My brother died when a paintball piereced his mask, went through his eye and into his brain. Don't go.
I'll add this to my list of 'Why I love facepunch'.
Not really developed for pain? Stop making excuses for yourself. You can rent Guns and Masks wherever a company owns maps, its mandatory. [editline]07:08PM[/editline] Oh, and my first hit was on my bare finger. Of course it hurts, but trying to avoid the pain and induce it on another with your own paint is what makes it fun.
Ahhh your first game of paint ball is always the most painful... mainly because I got point blanked in the testiculars. I passed out and swear I almost died
Protip: Calling fields "maps" makes you sound like a Halo kid to other paintballers.
In my opinion it doesn't really hurt that much. Only time its ever hurt really bad when when I got shot on the top of my head
I've never gone ACTUAL paintballing myself but.. There used to be this random kid who would attack my house by paint balling it and egging it for no reason. Never found out what his problem was. Anyways a friend of his thought it would be funny to tell me when he would come and strike my house next. So naturally I decide to ambush him since I have nothing better to do on a Friday night. My friend and I camp out at my house, he supplies the paint ball guns and to our surprise the motherfucker actually shows up. Well we had him writhing in pain in the middle of the street at like 1 in the morning so I kind of felt bad, because he never hit us back. We let him run away though, but not without shooting him just for kicks while he ran. Yeah I'm kinda of a big deal. You can call me a badass if you want :smug:
I'm 15 and still haven't played, I had the opportunity, but I wussed out. I am now an avid Airsoft player and don't need to.
Protip: Calling fields "maps" makes you sound like a Halo kid to other paintballers.
Then i've been sounding like a halo kid PRE halo? Jungle Island and SV Village call them Maps, so I call them maps.
I am going paintballing tomorrow, ive never been before, and tbf im shitting myself, ive heard it hurts etc etc. (im 14 so im still not fully developed for pain) Can someone please give me thw low down on it? Does it hurt, is it fun etc? Thanks :v:
Wussbag. Youl get used to it very fast. If its woodsball, it will probobly be far away and wont hurt that much if at all. If its speedball, obviously will be a little more because its closer.
ballin'
You pusses wear pads and sweatshirts. Back in the day, anything other than a speedo was not acceptable. Boxers were for pussies.
Seriously, Don't be a wuss. I wear nothing but a white tshirt, and shorts. The bruises are good. then you can show them to everyone. Do wear shoes though.
(im 14 so im still not fully developed for pain)
Are you kidding me? You shouldn't be strongest at this age. Don't be a wuss. You can't use your age as an excuse. Unless you are 7 years or younger.
And it does not hurt after a bit. The first couple of times you might bleed and get a welt, but from then on you can just shrug it off.
I remember the first time I went, I was terrified to get hit. Like they said above, your first game it the most painful. It'll still hurt, but you kinda get used to it after a while. Also, like someone said on the previous page, wear gloves or something, It hurts bad to get hit on your fingers. The tip of my middle finger got hit once. Other then a bit of pain, it's really fun.
its fun till someone hits you in the balls:dance:
I go paintballing all the time. My favorite thing is woodsball. Not speedball. :colbert:
I go paintballing all the time. My favorite thing is woodsball. Not speedball. :colbert:
I think speedball is silly.
Just wear a sweatshirt and jeans, you will be fine. That is, if you are renting guns and not using your own, in that case wear thick clothes cause rented guns have a lowered FPS than guns that people bring. You will still get welts, but you only really get them if they don't burst when they hit you, and they hurt more
Here's something I've learned over the years: if you "die", when making your way to the out zone, fucking RUN. Even though you're meant to put your hand up, and nobody is meant to shoot you, they do.
If you are really worried, wear layered clothes and gloves
and don't forget to shoot the marshalls :D
BTW if you get shot by a paintball and it doesn't explode, well it's just like a stone getting thrown ate you at about 100mph. I went paintballing when I was 13 and I was fine, it's sore but not that sore.

It did hurt however when I got shot on the skull. and It must have really hurt when I shot a kid in the ear.
I played it for the first time when I was 15. I played like 5 rounds, yet I only "died" once. That was when a teammate mistook me for an enemy and shot me in the head. Oddly enough it didn't hurt at all, it was like someone hit you with a small stick. Might have been the adrenaline effect. He also happened to shoot me from like 30 - 50 meters so the kinetic energy might have dropped.
Watch for wiping. Paintball seems to be full of people who'd rather cheat than play fair.
No.
Played when I was 14. Got hit in the neck (the only unprotected part on my whole body) and quit. Not my idea of fun at all.
