you just reminded me when I played at Holmbush when I was 14. Hit a guy 3/4 times and as he was walking off King Arthur's castle, he fired and hit me on the finger. It caned like hell especially as it was the trigger finger :( and then the Marshall said I was out. WTF!

I got shot in the back of the knee while running and it took me to the ground.
Get a friend to shoot at you with a Red Ryder BB-gun from about forty feet away ,and times the pain by about four and you got the pain of a paint ball.
if you're going to do paintball a lot, it might be worth getting your own mask as the ones given at the centres don't have thermal lens and they fog up. (well in my experience anyway)
The first time I went paintballing was on my vacation in London. Well just outside of London to the north. Something like Mayhem Paintball. They supply pretty much everything. I thought about the same things.
It doesn't hurt really. I've been shot in the fingers many times and all I got was a jolt from the impact and after that, numbness. The only time it will hurt is the impact. The rest is just meh. If you're having a very good game and your adrenaline is going then you'll barely feel a thing.
Paintball is the most painful activity I've ever participated in.
I got hit by a paintball and it pierced through my stomach and had an exit wound in my back.
I had to sit out for a few rounds.

it completely does not hurt as much as you think. I first played when i was 12 and it hurt like a motherfucker then, and when i went again when i was 14 it didn't hurt as much. Just get over it and enjoy it, if you're going to get hit you're going to get hit, theres no point in ruining a fun day over worrying about a little bit of almost nonexistent pain.
Wear gloves. The winter kind. The thick kind.
I played paintball just today. But I am a regular player so it is nothing new for me. It doesnt hurt that much anymore you start getting used to it.

OP needs to stop being a pussy. I just went for my first time 3 weeks ago, and I was nervous, but after you get out there you don't care. Oh, yeah, and bunkers are your friends.
It hurts a bit and you get a nice bruise, but it's really not that bad. You get used to it.
It really doesn't hurt as bad as people say.

You'll get used to the pain. Also it's incredibly fun if you're on the same team as your friend's.

Just played today in the cold, and yes, getting shot in the finger hurts like a bitch. I got hit in both wrists and my middle finger at the same time and it made me drop my gun it hurt so bad.
To the OP, you have nothing to worry about. It doesn't hurt unless it's really close or in a soft spot of the skin... They are just being pussies. Stay low, watch every move the other team makes, communicate with your team, and wear your barrel condom (only if your at a field) :smug:

buy a nice mask, something that fits you comfortably and doesn't fog the fuck up
then spend the rest of your money on the marker
I wear protective gear while playing paintball not to protect my body from being hit but to let me move between cover without killing my knees and elbows
I wore a Hockey Chest Plate, looked badass, paintballs didnt hurt, but it got in the way alot.
I just wear shorts and a t-shirt. Unless I am playing speedball then I will switch to my paintball pants and a t-shirt.
I had a mesh mask and got shot in the face once. Paint tastes great, I recommend you try it.
