I first went paintballing when I was 8. I don't remember much other than accidentally spraying into the crowd to hit a guy who was passing on that side facing the crowd. Hit him in the balls a few times. never gone since then, would have if I had the opportunity to, but haven't. Too bad really.
The first time I went paintballing I somehow snuck around the field and shot some kid in the back three times point blank. I felt bad but it was for my own good, all is fair in love and war!
Here's some tips from a fellow paintballer.
As a noob, you will tend to get tunnel vision REALLY badly throughout your games. DON'T do that. You need to be aware of your surroundings completely. Don't waste half your hopper on the guy that keeps on poking out from behind some cover while you sit there and shoot; plan something, sneak up and pop him from behind, which leads me to my next point - MOVE around a lot. Call out anyone you see to your team. And remember, gear =/= skill, with a shitty rental you can do just as well as the guy that spends 1000$ on his gun.

Sorry paintball but once you loose your ballistics virginity you really don't find much interest in these things anymore
I wish there was a big paintball scene here... No pro paintball around these parts though.

Try to lean while in cover.
Try to find cover when you are pinned down.
Don't be afraid of dirt while having an match.

I've been twice, one of which was kinda lame and the other was great fun (the better one was at our better arena). My friend hid in the top of one of the little houses around the course, and managed to take out our whole team singlehandedly. He got me by shooting the inside of the house and the paint spraying through the cracks onto my face :saddowns:

I do have a friend with a Red Ryder, based on how hard it hits me, I'd say it shoots about 450-500 fps.

No, you said that you and your friends shoot BB guns at each other not airsoft. The M700P is an airsoft gun not a BB gun, and a Red Ryder still shoots nothing close to 500fps.

A note to the OP. Buy some cheap paintballs and freeze them overnight. Use those as your ammo.
As an added bonus throw a few marbles in there.
Frozen paint = fragile paint = lots of chopping
Marbles = fucked up bolt at the end of the day

Completely frozen paint = solid projectile = lots of pain.
As for the photos yes he was shooting hot but he was also using frozen paint. I assume you know a lot about paintball so you'd know that some marblizers will give you a nice welt unfrozen, but these things were solid as a rock.
I suggest you go, it really doesn't hurt much. If you go, then don't worry if you run out of ammo - melee time :smug:
